Hello everybody !
I'm sorry if my question is stupid but I just bought my Qtek S100 (french version) on saturday and I have not found yet the WAP client that can connect to WAP using my GPRS connection !
Can somebody help me please ?

It is not a very good WAP browser, but at least it is there (PIE).
Thank you ! but sorry it's not working...I have my gprs connection activated (coz I already had it before saturday when I bought the S100) and when I type a wap adress, for example : wap.sfr.net, it reformats it in http://wap.sfr.net and I dont think it's the HTTP protocol used here.
Any idea ?
Regards,
Morgan
The protocol sure is HTTP, and the site works just fine from both my Magician and my PC.
You realise it is not enough that you have GPRS activated with your operator? You also need to set up the S100 to use it, see your manual for instructions.

Hi,
I have been trying to establish a WAP connection with my new o2-xda (64MB) over GPRS using WTLS protocol to my trade account at Interactive Brokers.
Even though providing the correct IP-Address and port 9302 (Secure) I'm not getting through. According to their help desk it's been tested and supposed to work with an xda.
Is anybody out there who as well is an IB customer with experiences on this?
Your advice is very much appreciated. RSVP. Thanks.
Rgds,
Jake
I suggest you check that the Ezos wap browser is compatible with your broker's wap service.
I had problems with UK NatWest wap (now withdrawn) because they supported Nokia 7110 but not the more recent 6210. Trying the latter resulted in an "incompatible handset" error from the NatWest wap gateway.
Hi,
the questions might sound silly to you folks:
Got my XDA2 in Germany (with O2 and WAP Flatrate).
When "booting" initially it asks you if you are a "Privatkunde" (private customer / end user) or "Firmenkunde" (business client). Does anybody know what is the difference/consequence in the setup according to this choice? Can you alter it afterwards? The instructions don't mention anything.
I do not "trust" the preconfigured GPRS and GPRS WAP settings for O2. I have the WAP-Flatrate, however, it only configures a WAP-proxy and none for HTTP (not even the WAP proxy also for HTTP)... so I have my worries that due to this configuration opening the Interent Explorer will use a regular GPRS connection instead and be costly.
Does anybody know more about this?
Head compression is "off" (why don't networks support this?), the preselected GPRS Mode does not seem to be optimal...
Are there any "tuning" tips already for the new XDA2?
Any flash software/ROM for the XDA2?

Hi Everyone well this has me stumped; : my hp ipaq 6828 connects to my access point ok I can ping locally and to the net and get replies but IE wont display web pages either from my local web server or the net. The error I get is "the page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost" . My AP works ok as my wife has a jasjam with the latest roms and wm6 - "thanks guys" and has no problems. However when I use GPRS on the ipaq, IE works fine. The roms are the latest according to HP 1.00.03 wwe and 1.00.01 bl. I am using the HP IPAQ wifi Wireless adapter, DHCP is enabled and I can see the mac address in the wireless table on the AP. Any suggestions - cheers Dene
did you change it in settings->connections under advantage to use my network rather then my isp ?

All WM device act as PC so even your get connect to a WAP connection from your network as soon as you try to surf any website your device will send request for a normal PC like webpage and it will try to connect to GPRS service not WAP.
If you have only wap account from the service provider then the server will disconnect you as soon as your device as for a PC like webpage
Goodday,
My Boss has a Tytn II.
And uses the dutch Vodafone.
Its not connecting to the internet or exchange email.
I have tried:
Windows auto wizard - No success
Manually according to website - No success
I have tried both with and without proxy
And tried both with PAP and CHAP authentication.
But it cant connect.
Is there anyone who knows what this could be?
p.s. when text messaging 1300 - internet
I get a stupid sms back with an URL.....
You could try connecting the TytnII to a pc with USB cable and thus using the pc's internet connection through Activesinc. Then the URL should work.
I have an TyTNII on the dutch Vodafone network. No problem, internet and exchange access both work. So if the activesinc method doesn't work for you maybe check these settings:
I did have to change the Access Point (Toegangspunt) from live.vodafone.com to office.vodafone.nl (username: vodafone, pw: vodafone) though. But that depends on your account type.
In my case the connection uses the proxy: 192.168.251.150
Hope this helps, good luck.
