Anyone using this card with any success?

(I have an MDA Compact variant if that makes any difference....)
i don't know where i read it, but i think it is identical in construction with the sandisk wlan card.
cheers
ok - thanks for the info
I have had it for one year
Much better than Sandisk, buy it
I use sandisk and have no problems. Highly recommend it. Why do you say it isn't as good?

Hi,
Next week I will be receiving my Qtek 2020.... yummie !!!!
I would like to use it for GPS.
I live in Belgium, so I want the whole Benelux always with me...
Sometimes I travel to Germany.
So maybe it's better to buy two "little" cards instead of one big.
I thought 2 x 512 MB ?
But which brand ???
Ik heard bad things about Sandisk ...
And what about Apacer, Kingston, Lexar, Twinmos ????
Many thanks for your reply's !!!
( And excuse me for my afwull English... )
Nobody ???
do a search in other threads people give their exp with different cards
sandisk is pretty compatible but the slowest cards in the world
why 2 x 512 cards lol thats a bit much no? why not get 2 x simpletech 256mb sd cards? they are the fastest cars out just like panasonic dont bother with sandisk very slow also lexar are to be considered
Thx foor these reply's.
So, it will be a Lexar, a Panasonic or maybe a Kingston.
My choice
I use 2 SD card Kingston 512 and I don't have any problems.
I have order the new Sandisk 1Go and I will inform you of my experience with this new card (I expect in a few weeks).
See you later
Just got a Sandisk 512Mb SD card as a present (well I asked for Panasonic or Toshiba) . . . .the Sandisk is far more expensive (& sold as 'a better card') but the performance sucks!!!
I've used it now for two days, have TomTom maps installed on it. Same config as i have for months now, except that i changed my Kingston 256MB (which isnt a performance highflyer either) fro the Sandisk.
Never had so many
1. freezes after hanging up while TomTom is still running
2. slow responses from the device in various aspects (ie. picking up the phone, putting call thru to BT headset, showing menu)
Next to these issues is also has the same (or worse) data-thoughput limitations as the Kingston card has resulting in freezes when you have POI's open in TomTom while driving.
Anyway, got my Kingston back in.
Anyone want to buy my almost-brand-new Sandisk 512MB SD????
Don't use SanDisk 1Gb
Hi all!
Thought I was lucky with this SD, but half of the time either my pc or MDA II suggests to reformat it... :-S no thanks!
I bought an Orange M700 on Sunday and I only have a 256mb card, I have been reading the issues on the forum and I was going to hold off but I can't wait any longer. I have been used to a 4gb SD in my Charmer for the last year so I think I need to buy a 4gb MiniSD for the M700.
I am running the latest HTC P3600 ROM and I am looking for some peoples experiences (I just hope some are positive ) to work out what to buy and where did you get yours?
Thanks
My Sandisk 4GB miniSDHC works fine since a couple of weeks.
I had daily trouble with a NoName 4GB miniSD before.
I'm using a VPA compact GPSwith ZAKv3-Image.
Hello,
I have a Mobymemory 4GB miniSD card in my M700 but I have problems with it. My files disappear and I get corruptions although putting it into a card reader shows the files intact, which makes me think that this device may have a problem with cards of this size.
As you've no doubt seen, there are plenty of posts from people who have had problems with 4GB miniSD cards although some people have had success with M700/HTC3600 and cards of this size as per the previous post.
If you are to get a 4GB card it might be wise to get one from the likes of the brand names like Sandisk, Transcend, Kingston etc etc.
Hi new to here....
what type of miniSD cards do people use and recommend? Are fast ones more noticable? Does it effect TomTom? Should one spend more on a better card rather than buying a cheapie?
Thanks
i am using a SanDisk 2GB mini-SD card (with TomTom) and would recommend you spend a little more and get a name brand that you know works such as the SanDisk or Kingston. Do a search here, there's already so many threads on types of mini-SD cards and people's experiences. Goog luck.
I have a Sandisk 2GB card and a TopRAM 4GB card. Have tried both with tomtom, video playback etc and never had a problem with either. The topRAM was cheap from ebay and 4GB is really great to have. I use WM6 ROMS in my trinity.
Just bought a 2GB Sandisk Ultra II card since it wasn't much more expensive than the standard card. It's the only MiniSC card I have, so can't make any comparisons, but it seems faster than the standard speed SD card on my old XDAII. Anyone know how this card rates? Performance, reliability, etc.
Later,
Abaddon100.
Hi! Does anyone know if Magician supports a 4GB SD card ? (I've tried a 2GB one, works fine and I'd like to buy a 4GB now).
Also, what about the new high-capacity HCSD ones ? (there are already some 8GB cards available). Is Magician able to read/write on those too ?
Many thanks.
4 GB max
SDHC cards dont work on magician.

hmmm, do you know which "model" is it (ie the 40x one, the 120x, etc). Please take a look at the link below (from the official Transcend site) it gives up to 2GB compatible size ... (strange) ... (my unit is the Qtek S100)
http://www.transcend.com.tw/Support...D=Qtek&ModelID_F=&ModelID=S100+PocketPC+Phone
Anyone else had any compatibility problems with 4GB SD cards of other brands ? I tried one today from a friend which is a 4GB SD (brand "A-Data", standard SD, non a SDHC one) and the S100 can't read it.
Many thanks.

Good to know that !! This old horse can still do a lot !!
My Transcend card is NOT the high-speed one.
Frankly, I don't think the high speed makes any difference on the XDA II Mini at all.
I'm also using the 4gb transcend. It's the slower model and I can definitely noticed the difference when it's connected to my pc through a card reader, but it's not so noticeably on my magician.
Hmm. I've just ordered a 4GB Sandisk [FONT="]Ultra II card for my JAM. I hope I've not made a blunder!!
Will report back when it arrives.

Hello folks, this is my first post.
I want to buy a SD card for my Kaiser (-> T-Mobile Germany MDA Vario III to be exact).
Each time I call the service, i get a different answer. Sometimes the SDHC works with the Kaiser, sometimes only the SD does, sometimes the 8GB would work but sometimes the Kaiser can only take cards up to 4GB.
So my question to this awesome forum is:
1. Do 8GB SD cards work with a T-Mobile Germany MDA Vario III?
2. Does a T-Mobile Germany MDA Vario III take SD as well as SDHC cards?
Thanks in advance!
Hi. I see no reason why the a German version of MDA Vario III wouldn't accept an 8GB memory card. The TyTNII (registered name) is SDHC enabled and I have read on numerous websites that it has the ability to accept memory cards of up to 32GB.
I, like you, have the T Mobile MDA Vario III, only I live in the UK. I'd think that different brand names for practically the same device (TyTNII) would be fundamentally simmilar, and that if a TyTNII and UK T mobile MDA Vario III could accept an 8GB SDHC card, then it would be no different with the German MDA Vario III.
I am currently looking for the best 8GB memory card, with memory card reader too. Tell you what, get an 8GB memory card, and if it somehow doesn't work, just return it and explain that you had good reason to believe that it was compatible with your device
Mine is arriving from MemoryBits.co.uk very soon hopefully. £43.62 (+p&p) with USB card reader.
I'll let you know if it works!
ok! thanks both of you a lot! ill probably buy one and then return if it doesn't work, just as one of you proposed (the number guy )
(btw, thanks for the awesome fast response)
one problem is, you know, its the 20 december and id like to have it on the 24th for obvious reasons, so i think i cant afford waiting until you get yours, but still AWESOME thanks, foaf!!!
Boy are we in the same boat I received my sdhc 8gb just in time for Xmas but the Tytn 2 is still under the tree in its box :/
Sandisk provides the tiniest usb reader ever! I had trouble removing the micro card without breaking a nail
I also noticed that the card was formatted in fat32. So here comes a noob question: I assume there's no ntfs in winmobile?

adata has the smallest, thinest and at present, the fastest micro sd card reader, also any micro sd upto 2gb is set to format at fat 16 and fat 32 from the window os, for 4gb and over Fat 32.

Memory bits is one of the options I'm considering.
Ive also been considering the following an 8GB memory card-
BUNDLE Sandisk 8GB Micro SD (SDHC) memory card with Sandisk USB reader- £50.99 (shipping is free) moby memory is highly recommended for efficiency from what I've seen on other forums
http://www.mobymemory.com/phone-memory/T-Mobile/MDA-Vario-III-memory-cards.asp
and
A-DATA 8GB Turbo Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Class 6 Memory Card - Retail Package (Free Ground Shipping - $57.99
http://www.supermediastore.com/a-data-turbo-sdhc-8gb-class-6-memory-card.html
I'm not sure however if this is microsd or minisd. It doesn't seem very clear
Not micro or mini

Thanks. Its misleading for it have SDHC in its title. How do you knows its a standard SD card?
No it's not, as SDHC is the newer format required to go above 4GB and it's on available on MicroSD, MiniSD, and SD Cards.

This one works with the TyTN II:

I've been using it for 2 weeks. It works quite well (been able to load up to 6.5GB of data on the card ).

kms
I just ordered a 8GB card - can't wait to get it
Do you guys use the Cardreader or go through the USB Active Sync?
It seems taking the micro SD card out all the time would break the little plastic bit covering it :-(
you don't have to take the card out for just normal use, but if your going to be loading a lot of music or a couple movies at one time you might want to take it out of the phone and use the card reader cause it is much faseter.
Yea, I just ordered the 8 GB Sandisk from ebay. Should be here any day now. I can't wait!!!
Although in a few months when there's a 16 GB card out, we'll all be sad.
Damn technology.
I got an 8GB Sandisk for Christmas and it came with a SanDisk card reader. Looks like a little USB jump drive and you just slide the MicroSD in it.
I had to use it to format the old 2GB MicroSD I was using as when my daughter tried to put it into here Blackberry Curve the Blackberry objected profusely. LOL
Funny thing is all I did was throw the USB adapter in a Vista box and it recommended fat32. I wonder what format was on it when it was in my Tilt?
If it was Fat32 why the hell did it need formating?
