Does anyone have an O2 Hymila 1.72.00WWE O2 Rom which is locked to O2?
I need to re-lock my XDA2 as it needs to go back under warranty
i'm pretty sure that the locking is not rom related at least people who unlock their devices seem to be able to change rom without them being relocked
O2 won't care if it's locked or not. In fact, how do you think they will find out? haha
Send it back, don't worry about it. The most I'd do, is ensure that it has an o2 rom, and not an imate or qtek one.

if I flash the rom of an O2 Exec with I-mate's,
and i have errors and then flash back to O2 rom.
Will they notice?
Will I auto. lose my warranty ?
Hi
As far as I know, they won't be able to see anything if you reflash to old rom.
I flashed my Blueangel with completely different vendor's update because my vendor is lame... and don't support devices well.
Good luck.
what is the difference between O2 Exec and I-mate's ?
Are you alowed to post which site can get the O2 and I-mates rom from?
which is better? JasJar or Exec
Gadi,
it appears that you know enough on the issue as to preffer to use the
i-mate rom (or at least that's what I gathered).
I am just about to buy one - and I am deliberating between the o2 Exec and the i-mate JasJar -- do you have any recommendations as to which is better to buy, and why.
:!: Also -- do you have any problem operating the device with an Israeli (or any non-UK Sim for that matter) SIM -- OR did you have to unlock it - and if you did, how did you do it.
-Also could you direct me to the i-mate rom.
I will appreciate your answer greatly.

Hold on, when you use the imate WWE rom program, which is felt by most to be better, doesn't it overwrite the ext-rom and the radio and the rest, so there is no way, unless you have the equivalent exe file for your original setup, to go back to where you were when you bought it?
An example being I am on t-mob, and they havent released an update to the mda pro yet, so if I use the iMate rom and don't like it, or it bricks my device, then I am stuck until they release one to return the device to life/get it how I want it.
I thought you were doing a proper clean and write to the whole device not just the ext-rom?

Dotan:
As for imate Vs. O2 - The only reason i'd prefer imate is coz
they release more frequent rom updates.
Other than that - the hardware specification is the same (HTC universal).
the software might have been modified to suit o2's requests.
(splash screen, company utils ect.)
So - if i'm buying the phone, it might as well be i-mate's so i dont get all tangeled with warranty B.S...
However - i want to check the claim that the rom flash can be "un-done".
if so - i'd much rather buy an o2 exec that costs bout 100 GBP less..

As for- where to d/l rom updates.. well, after u buy an imate register at www.imate.com and then goto members page.
or - try asking here in the forum, post a topic asking for the latest Jasjar rom!
Behazlacha,
And tell me what u decide to do !
Gadi.
1. Is the i-mate current ROM less buggy?
2. If I flash it to my Exec, will I lose all my current files & settings?
Hi, i have some question.
1. I have an unlocked O2 xda exec, can i ask anyone who tried to upgrade to the latest ROm version v1.13.188 from O2, after upgrading with that version does your exec still unlocked or have been lock? And if i ever to decide to change the rom of my exec for instance jasjar rom does the unit still be unlocked or not, im afraid for my exec to become locked because i live here in the phiippines and we dont have O2 here.
2. Does anybody here tried to install the autoconfig software from the extended rom of dopod 900 becasue thats the only universal that has a Autoconfig software where you can configure your phone settings to different operator particularly asian operator like smart. If yes what are the steps that you've done, did you install all of the extended rom from the dopod900.
3. Does anybody here experience bad things to their new xda exec or dopod 900 such as dead pixel on the screen or anything in its hardware. so far i dont experince any.
Thanks you so much in advance. This site really helps a lot of newbie.
1. Roms do not affect in any way lock status. so no worries.
2. in the extended rom you have many files. if you can find the one specific file, which is installing what you need, then it is enough to only get this. maybe somebody else here in this forum knows, which cab file is correct one for you
3. nothing what you ask for. but look in the threads about wonky screen and case marks.
Anyone who can answer my questions. Thank you so much.
Hi guys
Just a quick question and I hope you guys can answer me.
I have got the MDA Vario with T-Mobile and have upgraded the ROM to 2.17.7.2 WWE (this is the Qtek Rom) and it works just great.
My question is, however, can I downgrade this ROM to the original T-Mobile ROM it came with?
I am wondering since I want to send the phone back to T-Mobile but am worried if they see I have upgraded it they will not take it back.
Please help.
Thanks kindly
You'll need to use lokiwiz to unlock the device and then reinstall the opriginal ROM. As you have an AKU2 ROM you'll need to downgrade the ROm first to an old custom QTEk ROM and then run lokiwiz to unlock then re-install the ROM. There s along post on this forum or the upgrade forum on how to do this. There are alos posts re putting the device back into it's original state if you need to ship it back to a vendor - can't find them just now but would suggest you trawl the forums... painful though it may be
Hey thanks loads. I have looked around to try and find how to restore everything but can't find it yet. I'll carry on looking but if you can suddenly remember where they are I'd appreciate it
Also, do I have to downgrade the QTek ROM first, or can I just install the T-Mobile ROM straight away?
Thanks again

Does it matter that the link above looks like it is for US? I have UK T-Mobile
DaveyG th solution is explained at http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...IBwAAABi/2UG&bcsi_scan_filename=viewtopic.php
If you want a TMo UK ROM got ot the TMo UK Site http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/mdas.html
Thanks JoninLA, the phone is unlocked using Loki already as that is how I upgraded the ROM, but I will make sure I have unlocked it and then install the original ROM from the T-Mobile site.
Thanks so much again, now I should be able to send it back, providing it all works...
Hi all,
sorry for that newbie question, but while I am living in UK, I got the british Orbit. Being German on the other hand, I would looooove WM6, especially in German (Language doesn't really matter, but e.g. the Keyboard layout would help!)
So - what to do to upgrade it? Will I really have to pay to get it CID Unlocked? Is there a workaround (NBHTool / UpgradeTool) or would I miss something that would be upgraded otherwise too?
Or shall I just call o2, ask them to unlock or replace it (the actual device)?
Or will the update be released for british orbits too (I'd probably rather wait a bit instead of spending money)...
If your device is o2 branded, you can download the update from o2 Germany's site and try the upgrade. The way the interface works for these OEM upgrades are very safe. If the program cannot or will not upgrade your Orbit to WM6, it will tell you - not destroy your device. Worst case, just wait for o2 UK or HTC to release WM6, but I think having CID unlock is just a good idea in general because it open so many doors for you. its all the cooked, or otherwise modified ROMs that you have to watch out for. Not everyone has the same concept of 'stable platform'.
It is o2 Branded, but unfortunately o2 UK, so it does not accept the German release (tried yesterday) - one way or another, preferring to have WM6 in German, I guess I couldn't avoid the unlock, could I?
If you want the Deutsche sprache ROM right now, then yeah, then unlock seems to be the way. I want mine to be in English, so I am going to wait for o2 UK or HTC.
same **** with mine. I want to change it from Deutsch to English, so i'll wait for the UK o2 release. Do u know if i will (i suppose based on the opposite tries) be able to flash mine German O2 orbit to the UK version. I hate it like that really much.
With CID Unlock I was able to get the OEM HTC rom onto my German Orbit in English. There is a write up somewhere on how to do it. You have to use this program that Hex edits the files of the HTC rom and allows it to load in conjunction to having the phone CID unlocked.

I cant find the link to the ROm but this is what it is called -

Hi
Sorry if this is a newb question and I've missed something obvious.
I'd like to upgrade an O2 branded hd2 to the generic latest ROM using the goldcard method described here. I understand this invalidates the warranty.
Is there any way of restoring the phone to its original state to circumvent this?
Thanks.
I would like to know this as well as im thinking of sending back my HD2 to o2 but cant as ive upgraded to 1.48.
Or is it worth sending back as it is now and then play dumb if they contact me to tell me its not got the original stock rom?
im with T-Mobile and upgrade it on ROM: 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE - Radio: 2.05.51.05_2 last weeks and never had any prob yet and sim card works fine
Dump your ROM before upgrading. For how to do that search on the forum.
I'm also with O2, & they told me that as long as the ROM is an official one from the HTC website this won't invalidate your warranty
Not sure what the policy is with T-Mobile though
I did find a O2 rom on here somewhere, cant remember where, I havent used it yet, but im uploading it to rapidshare now and will provide a link. So if anything does go wrong you can just flash back to the O2 rom to be on the safe side.
I have returned a phone to O2 before that was HSPLed and they never said anything, but they sent out a new phone and picked up the old one at the same time.
O2 Rom...
