I wonder whether somebody has tried to connect a high-quality mic to the mda2 in order to improve recording quality?
Can the device record with two mics in stereo?
Is the plug avalable seperately?

when the headset which include mic is connected the speaker and mic in the device are hardware muted
and cant be used at all
I'll try it again in other words (Sorry for not being precise the first two times. :roll: English is not my native language).
Goal: I need to do quality sound recordings in stereo.
Idea: I would like to connect external SHURE SM58 mics to the mda2.
Can the device record with two mics in stereo?
Is the headset 2,5mm plug avalable seperately?

yes you can buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack conveter just make sure it also bring out the mic some only do the lineout
still not sure about what you mean with recording in stereo
the mic in the headset is mono
and the mic in the device cant be used at the same time as the mic in the headset
there is no way you can get it to record anything in stereo
unless you can find some SD audio grapper card
you can record in mono and make it joined stereo with an audio program joined stereo is just making both channels play the sound

"recording in stereo" I mean recording with two external microphones at once.
Pls. forget the headset. Please forget the internal mic.
Let's explain it that way:
In order to record in decent quality you traditionally need :
2 mics
A stereo tape recorder
Result:
Tape with 2 channels
(This is stereo BTW)
Now my idea:
replace recorder with mda2
2mics
MDA2
Result:
Wav or mp3 with 2 channels
To set the scene:
1st: Throw away the headset
2nd: dump the internal mic (or at least ignore it altogether!)

the jack connector in the xda support 2 line out
and 1 line in
there is no way you can connect 2 mics to 1 mono mic in
much in the same way you cant connect a 5.1 surround system to your xda and play movies with surround it have 2 lines out and 5.1 require 6 lines out
same thing with input 1 line == mono

Hello all~ can anybody teach me how I can use a 3.5mm mono or stereo microphone with my Atom to record?
I have tried the internal mic but the recording quality is not good.
I have also tried to use a convert adapter (a 3.5mm plug to 2.5mm jack for a mp3 player) but the mic didn't work.

You have to option to take a orginal headset with a mic, get the cabel that goes to the mic part of it and solder on a own connection, but be warned that the impedans is probebly wrong so if you can record, its almost sertian that its at o very low volym.

Can you still answer phone calls without unplugging the headphones?
Does the headphones disable the internal mic?
The reason I ask is because I would like to know if I hook up the HD to the car aux input, will it work without adding an extra external microphone.

No, the mic works. The phone also rings when the headphones are plugged into it.
That's right. The microphone still work. I've been using wired headset to make calls. If it does't work, it would'nt have been possible to make such phone calls.
Thats nice to hear. But from how far away the microphone catches sounds?. If i use my stereo headphones, will the microphone be boosted, like in the speaker mode, when it can catch the voice even from the table, couple feet away?
It works Great in my car, i put it on myside [beside the GEAR]. but car speakers volume should not be very loud.

The thing what`s in my head, when i am with my friends and we make muzic that i put my x1 on a dj mixer and record the mix on my x1, is that possible.. Thnx..

I don't think 3,5 mm jack = Line in. It's a line out...
You can record on memory stick in Notes app pretty well,
but only through inbuilt mic I think....
thats right, the 3,5mm jack is an output. you can only record through the mic
and the x1 using micro sdhc, not the sony memory stick
how about trying to connect a clip on mic to the headphone jack?

The included headset provides a line in through the mic. So maybe something could be rigged and programmed to take at least a mono line in on the X1? Don't know of any apps that record from the headset though. Even if this were possible, it would probably sound like crap ya know.

no, the Touch Pro has only a mono audio in. As audio in adaper you can use the "HTC YC A300" or you prepare a headset cable with a mic plug....

what do you like to do with this solution? I use the Raphael + the "YC A300" adapter in combination with "Virtual Recorder" (http://www.4pockets.com/product_info.php?p=80) and/or "Meteor" (http://www.4pockets.com/product_info.php?p=82) from 4Pockets as mobile Recording device for a small radio station...
I have a Boss Micro BR with external stereo microphone.
I see that there is a lot of stereo microphones for MP3 players/recorders.
To move less hardware each time, it would be great if I could use my Raphael with such a software and a stereo microphone to record rehearsals of my band.
Maybe if some of these software developpers manage a way to use an USB stereo microphone ?
Don't you have latency or loss of time when recording with the Raphael ? For instance, I can't find a metronome software that don't hesitate sometime because of the background system activity or whatever.
Latency is no proble, for me - I need it only for voice recordings (interviews for the radio station). Check Meteor - this application has a metronom function too (cool application with a 12-channel mixer and cuting room - it's a trail version on 4pockets.com)

Does anyone have more detailed specifications for the Note 4's headphone jack?
I am wondering whether it is possible to record stereo audio via thsi jack?
For this of course the jack would need separate wires/contacts for the left/right mike in addition to the
sound output. Does it have that? (It could be that it also may have a lead for the accept/reject/start call function the Samsung headset has).
I have a LiveScribe binaural headset that I would like to use. it has what looks like 5 contact areas in the plug (4 black rings)
If the phone does allow stereo recording through the jack but the contacts don't match, does anyone know of any available adapter?
