I've just got back from work having lef my XDA II on O2 at home, and the thing won't turn on!
When I plut it into the charger, a faint red light comes on (where the green signal indicator usually is), However after a few minutes charging it should deffinitely turn on, yet it still does not.
Does anyone have a clue whats going on??
If the main battery and backup battery run out, shouldnt sticking it in the cradle charge it?
Any help much appreciated
Try removing the main battery for a while then try again.
I've had a few of such experience. It won't turn on. Even charging it from the power main, soft reset, take out main battery for a minute or half...
The only way to wake it up is to HARD RESET.
Strangely, I thought somehow the battery ran dry, but after one hard reset I noticed the main battery was at normal level, backup battery 100%. How frustrating. It happened a few times already.
8) I also found this problem. I use Spritebackup and schedule to backup everday at midnight. So, I can restore after have to do hard reset
What ROM version are you running on your XDA2?
I had the same problem on my MDAII and I was on 1.60.00WWE but an upgrade to 1.72.00WWE fixed the problem. That ROM also used to wipe my SD Memory!... Now I'm on 2.06.00WWE (Windows Mobile SE) and it's better than ever!!!
Good Luck!

I had the problems when I was on 1.60.00WWE. Since the very last hard reset (device not responsive to soft reset after a flight in February), I changed it to Sin's Merged ROM version 2 (WM2003SE). I wouldn't say it's better than ever, as I noticed the device is slower but it has been ok ...
I just joined the list because of this issue.
I have ROM Ver 1.72.00WWE and Radio Version 1.17.00.
I only upgraded both ROM and Radio in the past fortnight. It's only since the upgrade that I've had the problem of not being able to 'wake' the XDA and having to do a 'ahrd' reset. I have also another issue regarding the GPRS connection but I'll write a separate email on that.

XDA II Problems
Its nice to know other people have the same problems.....
I have had similar problems and either just remove the battery or do a soft reboot. As I travel a lot, I can't get to my desktop to back up. So I use a 1GIG SD card. But I have'nt lost any data yet.
One annoying problem I had was the damn thing kept switching on every time I picked it up or put in the hard case, or even just laid it down. It seems to have disappeared now. Has anyone else had the same problem?
so its fate!
check in this morning and mine is doing nothing, nada, zip
hmm soft reset nothing check the threads and this ones at the top!
used all day yesterday sitting on the charger overnight and bingo its dead...
Same problem
Have had intermittent problems with being able to turn on. Took battery out for a while and when it decides to work it automatically has performed a hard reset. Use daily for receiving jobs, recording serial numbers using BT scanner and then e-mailing. As well as being my phone and GPS. Have started taking my laptop with me just so I can restore data on the run.
What a pain!
XDA Problems
From the replies given it appears that the problem lie swith the battery. Has anyone raised this with the supplier? I was thinking of getting a spare one, but they are a bit pricey.
I honestly don't think it's the battery that's at fault. This is because I didn't have any problem with my XDA II until I upgraded the ROM and Radio recently. Secondly, it happens irrespective of whether the battery is fully charged, half charged ... whatever. IMHO, it's whatever was done in the upgrade!
When I got mine back from repair the battery was totally drained as well as the back up battery. would do nada, not switch on, nothing whatever I did.
A few minutes on the charger was not enough. You have to leave it in for about 14 hours once it's in that state for it to become live again.
Don't ask me why, but it needed at least 14hrs on that mains charger !
I too suffer this problem .... only since upgrading too.
Will try the Spritebackup method
guys i have a similar problem. my power button has broken and i turn on the device with the record button (i have remapped the buttons). Yesterday i turnd it on and the screen freezed on the today screen . I performed a soft reset, the screen went blank and it never turned on. Now the device is dead, soft reset won't work, it doesn't seem to charge (no light when i put it on the cradle) and i cannot perform a hard reset because i do not have a working power on/off button.
Is there anything i can do to turn it on?
Before the experts arrive, you could try removing your battery and simcard and leaving them out for a good 15 minutes they try again.
I broke the power on button off my last xda, my hubby soldered it back on
I've had the same problem since 10 days now. First time (friday), the phone just reset itself (hard reset) without reason... 4 times within 2 hours. When I came home i reloaded it for 12 hours and restored a backup. It worked fine from saterday until wednesday.
Then on wednesday it reset (hard reset) itself almost 10 times. Thats the first time i noticed a red light when I tried to recharge. The red light dissapeared after a couple of minutes and the phone would switch on again ... in hard reset mode. Again I left it charging a whole night and restored the backup the next morning. It worked fine again until ... yesterday (monday)... I dropped it (stupid me). It went completely dead. Even when recharging for 2 hours the light was still red. A new fully charged battery (my first thought) did not help a bit.
This morning I opened it up (its about 18 months old, so no more waranty) and i found nothing. When i closed it up... it did a hard reset !!! I changed nothing inside (I even found a little piece of metal afterworths that must have fallen out!). I suspect it was the fact that i removed the battery AND the SIM-card for more than 30min that did the trick. My phone is not SIM-locked (illegal in Belgium to sell sim-locked phones, good thing, but they are a lot more expensive here too). A brand new battery did not help.
Problem is ... when I send it in for repairs, it will be gone for about 4 weeks ! And the best they can do is give me a Sony Ericsson P900. I appreciate their effort, but carkit wont work, no GPS, etc... so i would rather try to solve the problem myself. I'll contact the repair center today and see what they suggest. I'll keep you posted
Cissen, how did you get on? Have you found an answer to your problem yet?
Edit: Mine crashed again yesterday and it showed the battery as being empty although I had fully charged it the day before.... so, I have now ordered a new battery.
They are pretty pricey for branded ones but I found this site yesterday so have ordered one from there - only 20 pounds including delivery so not wasted too much if they're crap
http://britishpound.ecyan.com/batteries-chargers/batteries---mobile-phones-and-pda---o2.shtml
I've got this problem too, when I first got it, it turned for about three seconds then turned off, so I thought it was a dead battery. but when I put the battery in there is no charging light, I have tried 2 different batteries that work fine in my other xda IIi. If I take the battery out and place in the charger a red light comes on.
Ei guys. this is a bit different from your experience. Anyone experienced by just changing battery it went hard reset? or just by changing sim card on the phone, removing the battery just for a second the phone went hard reset although I did checked the backup battery which is in 100%. Anyone?

Soft reboots about 1 time per half hour now. Seems to have a hard time coming back to life after shutting down--flickering screen also the orange charge light goes off. Just happened again. This sucks.
Could be related to the charging function??
Did you installed any suspicious software lateley?
Have you tried a hard-reset? (do a backup first)
Now its hard rebootng by itself.
Its hard rebooting byitself now.
No new software. Looks like a trip to the shop where i bought it for service.
Pressing the power switch does a hard boot now.
Checking now the reset button--could be jammed.
On about the 10th hard reset--every time it completes installing and thenas soon as i press the on/off button it goes haywire
-or even before presing the buttton.
i have a similar problem, but i turned out to be that:
one my battery is dead, i cant recharge (charger at home)
i plug an external charger that uses 4 AA batteries...
it works fine, BUT when those 4 start to die, the xda
keep softreseting, somtimes even b4 it fully get booted.
so... check your main battery, maybe its dying on you!
Interesting!!
Took the unit to the shop today--they played around and at one point insisted that it was my sim card that was causing the problem.
Finally could see that the secondary battery had gone to 0% and was not recharging.
So in had to leave it there for extended service. Had to buy another mobile phone to use as a backup--bought the smallest thing i could find as I will use it at times i dont want to lug around the xda.
...you know, that could be true too, there is a small switch by the sim card, that if not pressed firmly, it resets the device.
a common problem if you remove the sim card often.
Hello,
I know that there have been previous discussions on battery problems, but after doing my best to read through, I'm still a bit unsure and wasn't able to find an exact solution nor an identical match to my problem.
My problem is that recently my XDA Exec has gone from lasting around 6 or 7 hours to less than 20 minutes when using GPRS on lowest backlight and no sound.
When it goes off, the battery meter still has aroubd 95% left showing so it is really quite puzzling. What happens is that after around 20 minutes, the LCD just fades away into black and the device completely dies, no sign of life.
Trying to turn it on or reset it both result in a soft reset, and the device comes up to the O2 Logo fine, loads for a few seconds, gets to the WM logo screen and then the LCD fades away and it dies again.
The only solution is to connect it up to the power, after which it then works fine while powered, indicating some sort of power or battery problem. When plugged back in, the battery meter is still at around 90% or so and goes all he way back up to 100%.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem and what might be a good solution? Would buying a new battery help (although the battery meter does indicate the battery is still nearly full and estimates around 6 hours usage)? Do I need to send it in for repair?
Thanks very much in advance, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated
Quboid
You should wait for the experts to help but from my intuition it really sounds like a battery problem. Lithium batteries can act very strangely if they are faulty. If nothing else works you may want to try and get a new one. Better than throwing the device in my opinion.
I don't know that I'd count myself with the "experts," but my similar problem was solved by getting a new battery. Mine too would "fade" off and then only come back on when it was plugged in. And the "fade" happened at around 70% power, so by all appearances it should have had much more time left. This was a battery that was about 15 months old, but with quite a bit of daily usage.
Go for the new battery.
Welcome to about 10 months ago when this happened to almost everybody. Get a new battery, problem solved.
Thanks for the replies,
I guess I was just surprised it might be the battery itself that's dieing, seeing as the fact it still shows charge and that it doesn't get heavy usage, only a few times per month and it's only just gone a year and furthermore, compared to my old Pocket PC which had a lot more usage and still is working fine seven years later.
Am I right in thinking that this is what I need to purchase? Wouldn't want to get the wrong thing
Thanks again for the help

That's the one!
Right, i have looked at most of these battery problems and my issue is the same as Quboid so, of I toddle off and purchase a new battery and guess what..!! Still the same, the damm thing shuts down with around 85% full charge.
What I cannot accept is the fact that this problem suddenly appears after no battery issues for the 12 months of owning the unit, you would have thought if the battery was going belly up that it would gradually happen but no...it just happens..!!, now is it that the new battery is dead...not so sure becasue at the place i work there are several universals around amd i have tried different batteries and still the same problem...
Could it be something to do with the unerversal thinking the battery is dead or is it reading a false level of charge...do you need to hard reset when adding a new battery..??
This is getting me down, after months of no problems there is nothing worse than a dead machine after 20 minutes of a full charge.
on ebay you can find batteries that could be docked into a sort of charger and charge without the use of the fone.
are these any good?
It depends on the type of the battery. If you just take your phone to the shop where you bought it, and have them give you a new battery, you'll be fine.
The original batteries only last about 6-10 months, and then they will need replacing.
Thats what i have, a new battery from the suppliers...
I've got the same problem.
My XDA dies after about ten minute's use with a full battery. I have purchased a new battery and it still dies.
I've reinstalled the ROM -- which is the standard latest O2 ROM.
I've tried it on the O2 setup, and the non-O2 setup.
I'm running nothing extra software wise -- even completely clean it dies.
I wanted to keep it running until the Omni or I-Mate Ultimate 7150 comes out, so this is really a pain.
Any other suggestions gratefully received.

My oh My,..
i got the same exact problem, i bought two new betteries one of them is 3150mAh
downgraded to O2 rom official, and still dies at 85%
i was thinking about getting a desktop charger. till i noticed something..
when you charge your handset it charges up 100% but the charger indicator light remains on orange. (and says charging on the soft version)
it should turn green when its full, now shouldnt it.
leaving the phone to charge till the light turns green and ignoring the software reader could charge the battery, (it would still die at 85% thought)
weird problem.. i am sure now that it is a handset problem, because both the battery and the OS (rom) were changed, and still with same results.
can anyone think of something we can try?
...
come on ppl.. think.. lols
i heva that problem to!!
hi thare i have the that problem to any way to fix it ?
I have the similar problem, except it dies at cca. 30% capacity.
As I can see there are a lot of users with this problem on this device.
I am new to this device, I've been using Wizard till now and just recently bought the Universal that is over a year old.
This battery problem really iritates me.
If ANYONE has a solution to this problem that will actually work I beg him to share it with us that are new to this device.
Well, this seems to be a problem that cannot be answered, as i mentioned before, my unit is a M5000, standard issue without any rom upgrades, new battery from from the Orange shop yet it still fails at even 95%. Gonna try a hard reset because I am sure it is a software issue, i did read somewere that the machine "thinks" it is fully charged/discharged and when you put a new battery in you need to do a re set to position the unit to basic state.
Lets see what happens.
My battery problem solved
Short time ago I suffered likewise problems with my MDA pro. After reading all the comments I decided to go for a new battery from handit. With this installed the problems even worsened, regardless which charger, or cable, or combination thereof, I used. So I swallowed my avarice and bought a new battery from T-Mobile, assured that this is the one they deliver with their phones, and now everything works fine!
It seems that there are slight differences between the batteries from diefferent manufacturers, and the pro might misinterpret the signals from the battery's electronics.
By the way - have you noticed the little red slider adjacent to the baterry with which it is fixed into the housing? If you do not put it into the 'lock' position the connection between the device and the battery becomes unreliable. It may well be that a heating-up of the battery while being charged disconnects it from its contacts!
Its a well known problem, after 9-10 months the battery cannot handle high powered functions causing it to turn off.
Get a new battery and you'll be sorted.
a 3150mah from ebay is only about £10-£15 but will make your universal a bit fatter. (they provide the larger cover for the back)
Yeh fine,,,all well an good if you do not use a jasjar car tray or holder as such, the soddin thing will not fit in it with this slug on its back
Qtek 9000 battery probs
Hi everybody
All I can say is I'm having det excact same problems with a Qtek 9000. Have tried changing batteries. Have even bought an extra extended battery (3150 mAh), and all for nothing. It worked for a brief periode. But now I'm back to square one again. The darn thing dies on me, even though the battery is charged (70-90%).
Have had a dialog with Qtek, but they claim they havn't heard of the problem before
Have been trying to figure out what the problem is..... and have tried to solve it with various workarounds.... Situation right now... Im pretty sure it's the battery on the systemboard that's causing the problems.
It kind of makes sense IMO... if you have a PC with a faulty battery nothing will work.
I'm going to see if I can get the battery changed (still have warranty). Keep your fingers crossed. I'll get back to you all if it fixes my problems.
Background:
I have had MANY PPC's (so many I can't even count them) and I've loaded many different cooked ROMS and such on most of them so I'm not a complete noob on these things (don't claim to be an expert either).
However, my most recent acquisition is an HTC Advantage bought at CompUSA. I've read most of these came with a test ROM and mine was no different except for the fact that when I attempted to update the ROM to the "official" one provided to me by HTC it would not work. I always got the error "Connection lost" about half way through the process. I tried it numerous times and it never worked. On some occasions it would get stuck on the bootloader screen but I was able to get it back to working status (still on the test ROM).
I decided to try installing step 1 of Ollipro's SPL to see if that would help loading the HTC ROM. Turns out that wouldn't work either. It would get stuck at step 1 where it would ask if "PPC gone idle and didn't work or to wait 30 seconds". Tried it many times and would try to get it to keep going but the grey box on the bottom left would say the "parameters were incorrect" and would give me the option to quit, which I would. No problem, at least my 7501 was still working.
After that I tried the official HTC ROM again and I got the same "connection lost" error I had previously, except this time I didn't get anything on my PPC screen, just a black screen, not even the battery charging light behind the joystick lights up anymore. Soft reset...........nothing. Bootloader reset....................nothing. Hard reset.......................nothing. No lights, nada. The only flicker I get is if I try a reset wheen the power cord is connected. A red light flickers behind the joystick whenever I click the reset button. Any ideas or any help?
Sounds to me like the battery is just dead. I bought one at CompUSA (had the test ROM also) and I got the red ring around the joystick too when I tried to turn it on in the store. I left it plugged in awhile and it finally booted up okay. I then replaced the test ROM with the one and only available for the X7501 on HTC USA's web site. Good luck and I hope you get it working!
I think it could be battery related as well but it had a full charge when this happened. For some reason the unit has lost communication with the battery. I'm at a loss.
I got the same problem like you man !!! but i bad luck and so stupid man , i did with HTC X7501 then it dead after that i bought the X7500 then did it again , holy "... " it dead again....man ...So how your phone now bro ????
I left out the battery a half day and tried it again but still dead. Then I left it charging overnight and tried it again but still dead.
I can't believe this. I've never had a bricked device that can't be revived but after so many have seen this post and still no solutions I'm guessing it's no hope.
I met the same situation when I started to unlock Athena ( TMobile Ameo) within not fully charged battery ( less then 70%).
Solution ( try to make BL mode) with connected wallsocket charger ( not connected to PC USB slot) or find 100% charged battery. It helped me two times.
After many tries it changed to BL mode .
Now I didn't start unlock/change ROM without 100% charged battery.
I have the same BIG Problem, only red fliker when soft reset when AC conected. I wanted to update rom from russian to english and phone stoped working (black screen), and battery heats when inserted in phone . nothing to do? i read everything but i have not got any solution. I think it may be bios dead. helap us please

"heating battery" (i.e. discharging when inserted, you mean?), no charge led = dead bootloader indeed.
I get the same problem. My device is work, but not charge. Also like yours i have red ring around the joystick when the battery is taked out. And if battery inside, when i make a softreset it blink one time, continued to load but not charge.
You`r speaking all wonderful. But have anybody found the solution?
Hearing these stories makes me nervous. I'm on the stock ROM (mine came from CompUSA with the latest ROM and I don't have an urge to try the cooked ROM yet). I've been using my Athena daily for 4 months, it charges correctly from several different chargers I have (car, computer USB, stock wall charger, aftermarket wall charger).
However, one day 2 weeks ago I went to make a call in the middle of the day and my Athena was dead. D-e-a-d. Usually I can make it back home at night and still have 90-100% on the battery meter, so with no use in the middle of the day and a dead battery, this was weird. It wouldn't turn on, no soft boot, took the battery out and put it back in, and always got nothing.
I bring this up here because when I plugged it in, I encountered similar problems that others here are describing. It wouldn't turn on, and it didn't give me the orange charging light behind the joystick. I ended up leaving it plugged in for a while and finally I got a red ring, not the usual orange. I've only seen red when the battery was almost dead and the unit was on. Then after some more time the ring turned orange and at this point it would turn on again. I still have no idea why my battery died so fast and hard.
So, is there a problem with the battery charging system that is starting to crop up in units that have been used a while???

Hi i am no expert but i had simaler problem no display or no lights round ring no responce to any commands (ie hard reset and bootloader ) only red light flickred on reset button all i did was removed battery while pressing reset button and placed new battery and left it on wall charger for couple of hours and before doing hard reset i pressed reset button 2 to 3 times and green light round the battery came up so i tryed bootloader and it worked and insted of flashing it with pc i just loaded the img in sd card and flashed it while whole thing was on charge (i had tmob test rom before ) which i think is best way to do no hassle of losing connection or failing in half way and it works like a charm
hope this helps
and ya if you have a spare battery it dose help
New battery?
I'm a wizard user (and lots of former PDAs) looking to buy and Athena, maybe.
Has anyone tried a new, right out of the envelope, battery? these issues sound like worn out Li-Ion batteries to me. I've had them completely conk (won't take a charge at all) if I let them go completely down, and I've had them wear out and stop taking a full charge (down to maxing out at about %20, but sometimes showing %100 depending on ROM status) when I kept charging them while they're already charged.
Li-Ion batts don't sit for long periods too well, either, so if they're sitting on the shelf at the store/warehouse, they may be suffering even more than one that has been used since earlier in its childhood.
Perhaps the answer is a switched charger that stops charging when the battery (not the ROM/unit reading) gets to %100. ???
I didn't see anything like this posted. I'm terribly curious to see if anyone can resolve it.

Hi everyone,
I have an unusual problem and I have searched almost the whole internet but I have not found an answer, so now I turn to you for any ideas. My problem is that over the past month, my amber/orange charge light remains constantly on, even when the phone is not charging. I have tried to soft reset, I have looked into HKLM->Drivers->BuiltIn->Battery key and have found no solution. The phone will still charge the battery OK. The other bluetooth light works OK, it still blinks when bluetooth is on. The right led remains orange. I have also tried to take out the battery and re-insert, but issue persists. I am using Faria's 3.3 and IPL/SPL is 2.26, radio is 2.61.11 for over 6 months on a WIZA100, but the issue has occurred a little over a month. Phone has always been well taken care of, no major drops and absolutely no water has ever touched it. Battery drain is normal, I get about 1 day and a half of normal usage, push email. I thought it was batterystatus, and I have removed it, but problem persists. When I soft reset, as soon as the IPL/SPL screen comes on, better yet, as soon as the HTC logo screen before the IPL/SPL screen comes on, the battery light remains constant orange. Any ideas? Please help!!
Sincerely,
Ricardo Cheing

It doesn't sound like you've tried hard resetting your device yet. Hard resetting the device will not revert back to manufacturers rom but will bring you back to the part where you configure the phone, before customization.
I imagine this is the only way you are going to get the orange light to go away, at least when its not charging... You can hard reset by holding the comm manager and voice button and pressing the reset button with the stylus.
BACK UP EVERYTHING BEFORE HARD RESETTING!!!! If you do not, you will lose everything on the device IE: music, videos, pictures, documents etc...
Try to use another Radio ROM version. The charging related issues are related to the Radio ROM.
Thanks guys, I will change the radio rom on my phone before hard resetting. I didn't want to try to hard reset because of the way I already have my phone configured. I have heard there is a way to create a cab with all customizations, but I'll have to figure out how to do this. I will report more later, because I'm at work right now and I don't have the usb cable.

Hi, my phone last night (O2 XDA Mini S (Wizard)) started the exact same symptoms as you. At half 4 last night the screen came on and the phone claimed to be charging, while unplugged. I soft reset, but no change. by the morning the phone now claims to be fully charged. I've taken the battery out for a while, soft reset but nothing has worked so far, it now claims to be 100% charged constatnly, so i'm currently running the battery down to see what happens.
did you ever find a solution to this?
Hello, just wanted to update the thread, after 1-2 months of the battery charging light always on, no matter what, it fixed all by itself as I was preparing to hard reset my phone, no BS, I swear. I took the phone in my hand and was debating if I should hard reset or just flash another radio rom, and bam, I saw the light go back to normal, blinking green. That day it went back to always on, but then it would fix itself, but finally it's back to normal. So I went ahead and flashed the official T-MO 2.26/ 2.26.11 ROM which downgraded my Radio from 2.61 back to 2.26.11 and replaced my OS and then I flashed the official T-MO 3.08/ 2.69.11 ROM which upgraded my IPL/SPL and Radio. I then flashed Dr. Dot's BlackDiamond 2.0 WM6 and applied the 2.69.11 radio fix on XDA Mobile 6 Release 3. My phone has been wonderful since, thanks everyone.
hi leewebster try this and let me know if it works for you
thanks Ricardo Cheing ,
your input helped as this problem started when i had charged my phone with wife's dopod m700 charger
any way after playing around for some time i figured a workaround for it
i did the regitry hack for disabling the charging via the usb,
powered off the device by pressing the power button then took out the battery and put it back and then powered the device and the problem was sorted also the phone now will not charge when connected to the comp
now if i enable the charging via the usb then the problem returns
hope this is of help to somebody
ps: registry for disabling charging via usb
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/DRIVERS/BUILTIN/usbfndrv
enablineUsbcharging change the value to "0" (for disabling)
and
"1" (for re enabling)
Thanks for this tip, I have added a reference to this thread in the Wizard Wiki
just to update
today i re enabled the charging via the usb by making the registry hack , powered down the phone took out the battery and then restarted the device and was pleasently surprised to see that the device no longer had the solid amber light
device is working absolutely fine
Sweet hack
Hi, The post about disabling USB charging does indeed cure the charge light on all the time. Now the battery status works correctly. Only drawback was I use a cradle to charge with a USB plugged into a wall adapter. It won't work because of the USB being disabled and I mistakenly assumed since it was plugged into the wall it would although USB is USB whether powered from wall or computer. The factory AC adapter charges it fine though and the annoying light on all the time is gone. SWEET!! I will also re-enable it just to see if it remains gone like you did after a few days, and hopefully it will. If it doesn't I can live with it the way it is now
Thanks for the post!

Dear All,
Please help me if possible. I have been facing this same issue, however, when I go to battery icon and click on it, the next screen shows that the battery bar is running as it runs during charging, though the device is not connected neither with USB and/or wall charger, amber light is also stays on. I did hard reset, i did soft reset, I took the battery out and put it back in, all my efforts are in vain, no success sofar. I must tell everyone here that this is my third battery and the last two faced the same problem and then died and now they are useless, using those two batteries, i can't turn the device on, i cannot charge the device, they are garbage now, please help if possible!
Is There any solution to this....

I have tried every solution given on the internet (Hard Reset , registry hack etc) ....... but no avail.........Has anyone found a solution to this

Hi there,
when I woke up this morning, I hit the power button to switch on the display, in order to see, if there are any emails. However, my HD2 would not switch on. Panically, I connected it to the power cable - no light on top. Aaah... What happened? Yesterday, in the evening, everything was totally fine, everything worked, no problems so far.
Then I took out the battery, put it back in and then the HD2 started up again. Thank God! The battery was still at 80% - so, I am still wondering, what happened to my phone tonight.
Do you have any idea? Did you have a similiar problem?
My blackberry had same issue like your. I replaced the battery, and problem solved. If it's happen to your hd2 again or more times, try to replace battery.
Is it possible you dropped or knocked the phone when you put it to sleep
the night before and dislodged the battery ?
it's probably just a "sudden phone death" problem like it has been first pointed out several months ago in this forum... relocating the battery to force a reboot usually works
Something within Sense or WinMo likely crashed whilst the phone is in standby and it wont recover without a battery pull or pressing the reset button (red one under the battery case).
Updating to another ROM/Radio can remove these problems.
