I had an ATT locked phone. I upgraded to Speciel Edition - which unlocked it, though very frequently the phone just stops working (I cant recieve or place calls-when i try placing a call it seems as though its going through and afetr about 20 secons it sais call ended) and i have to turn the phone off and then turn it back on. Any suggestions? I am kind of new to this so please keek that in mind when replying.
Thank You

Click to collapse
That's the same as on my phone, and it's the most up to date version offered by o2
So the newer ROM date/ versions must just be a regional variation?
The 1.11 ROM is an i-mate ROM.
There are a few posts about it scattered about here with links to it, so you can search.
I am running it on my XDA2i now, and it resolves most of the issues with the device, the only one I have is that sometimes it will not reconnect GPRS and you have to turn on, then off the flightmode, or simply soft reset.
Yeah I'm an o2 xda2i owner on the 1.11 i-Mate ROM, and it works fine.

Ant
Do you know if this iMate ROM fixes the TomTom 5 Freeze Issue with the Traffic Updates via GPRS.
Cheers
Lee
I don't have the Traffic plugin. Ironically I had the free month trial and it ran out a few days before I upgraded to the 1.11 ROM.
Cheers

where can download the rom?
I tried www.myxda.com
But can't find any rom over there.
Pls help !
Take this: _ttp://www.qtek.nl/_BIN/AL_DT_WWE_11100_112_10200_Ship.zip
ExtROM version: 1.11.112 WWE
Prot. version: 1337.41
Radio version: 1.02.00
Date: 01/27/05
ROM version: 1.11.00 WWE
But I have the ROM for PDA2 on my Qtek2020i:
ExtROM version: 1.11.144 WWE
Prot. version: 1337.42
Radio version: 1.03.00
ROM version: 1.11.00 WWE
_ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/PDA2_WWE_11100_144_10300_ship.exe
Guys-I have been following this thread for awhile since I was skeptical about upgrading my 02 XDA IIi with a Imate PDA II Rom.
Steps I followed:
1) Using Activesync I did a full restore
2) Downloaded the Imate ROM and put the extracted files into a folder
3) Downloaded the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and dropped it in the same folder
4) Run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe twice since the first time you get an error!
5) Reset my xda IIi
6) Did a restore from Activesync
Now my XDAIIi reads
Rom version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.03.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.10.124
I just bought my XDA IIi from O2 Germany last week:
ROM Version: 1.11.01 GER 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.03.00
Protocol Version: 1337.42
ExtROM: 1.11.161 GER
So the radio version appears to have been updated too on the XDA IIi compared to what you guys are running.
I am mixed up
I downloaded the PDA2 firmware from the link above to install on my XDA III but i get an error saying invalid country code
Did i miss soemthing? Do I need any special tools to flash my phone?
Read my steps up two posts!!
To upgrade, the following worked for me:
1. extract PDA2_WWE_11100_144_10300_ship.exe, use winzip, to a directory (e.g. c:\upgrade)
2. edit RUU.conf in c:\upgrade by adding following line:
[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1
3. copy upgrade util (MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Tools/MaUpgradeUt_noID.zip) to c:\upgrade
4. Soft reset pocket pc
5. place in cradle and connect (guest or otherwise partnership)
6. run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe - it will start and then fail
7. without resetting pocket pc run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again
8. it will run to completion this time.
I am in the process of upgrading as we speak.
I would like to add that the first time you run the No id checker it wont fail with an error, it just doent do anything so you will have to kill the process from task manager to run it again.
I will let you know if all goes well.
Thanks for the pointers
Odd.
As I've said before, mine ran first time and upgraded without any errors whatsoever.
Ant
Ok upgrade finished.
O2 -> Imate firmware
I have a very big issue now
I tried to restore my STG backup file but active sync said that its a Device missmatch which is logical....
Now what?
I dont have another backup except this backup.stg
It won't take the stg file because the regional settings are different since you upgraded. Change your regional settings under settings to what you had before the rom upgrade! Then Backup
Also to get rid of the Imate Splash Screen download this and install!

regional settings?
I put it to the right ones.
is there a way to tell what settings to put from the backup file i have?
Hi all,
I am new to Pocket PCs and to this forum too. I bought a used O2 XDAII. It has following Specs:
ROM Version: 1.66.00WWE
ROM date: 02/20/04
Radio version: 1.08.00
Protocol version 1337.18
ExtROM version: 1.66.165
My problems:
1. When the battery goes to about level 20-29% the phone shutdowns by it self and after a while turns ON byitself. I dont exactly that is it of battery level problem or shutdowns by itself.
2. The phone is not very stable, i mean while playing a game or some other work,SOMTIMES it restarts by it self, and somtimes hard resets by it self so i again have to align the screen etc.
3. Can i upgrade it to WINDOWS 2003 SE Safely or even to 5.0
I will be waiting for your kind relpies.
Thank you and respect to u all
Saad.
yes read this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya
your rom is pretty old and can likely be the cause of your issues
Hi, I'm a newboy on the K-JAM, so please be gentle. I've flashed with the new rom, and am running ( on NZ voda ):
Rom version: 2.16.9.1 WWE
Rom date: 2/6/06
Radio version: 02.07.10
Protocol version: 413.1.03
ExtRom version: 2.16.9.101
Had an alarm message go off this afternoon whilst the phone was locked, and had to give it a reset to get any life back to it. Is this normal???
i had the same issue with mine too. and the alarm keeps coming back too.
I recently got an i-mate JasJar, and I found intriguing that:
a) It didn't came with any antivirus or skype installed
b) The smart dialling option doesn't work
By browsing the forums, I've found out aht these programs are in fact in the "ExtRom"
I checked my device information under settings, and t my surprise there is nothing under "extROM version" ???
I checked under at www.clubimate.com and the last firmware is, in fact, the same that I have. But the on on their website seem to have a "extROM".
Here is what I currently have:
ROM version: 1.30.76 WWE
ROM date: 02/20/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: <this is blank>
Here is what is available for download at clubimate.com
Rom version: 1.30.76
Radio version: 1.09.00
ExtROM version: 1.30.164
Could someone suggest me what to do? Did someone here had the same problem that I have? It kinda bugs me not to have the smart dialing option and other things that were supopsed to come built-in.
Thanks for the help,
Pedro
Wow... 45 views and no answer... hummm... :?
I sorted out my problem by downloading the latest firmware from i-mate. For some reason, although I had all the latest WWE, Radio Firmware, etc. My ExtROM was empty (?!).
By upgrading the firmware I got all back, and my "smart dialing" now works, I have the Backgammon game, skype (although I uninstalled it in order to install the newer version), the Antivirus (although I uninstalled it because I find it useless), etc.
