GPRS Dial with TAPI and APN selection

Hi all,
can anyone tell me if its possible to do a GPRS dial via TAPI? I don't want to use connection manager, because I need full control of the dial process and I have to chose the Access Point Name. Is there a way of configuring the APN via TAPI? How can I make the connection only with an APN?
I can chose the APN with AT commands, but I have to silence the RIL layer first, this has unfortunate side effects.
Thanks for any suggestiongs!

how to remove provider name from dial pad?

Does anyone know a way to not show the name of my provider?
I know that I am using T-mobile and was wondering if there's a way to switch this feature off (perhaps through the registry?)

Understanding PPC connections, non-specific

Basically I am searching for somewhere on the net that can help me to understand the connection settings in Windows Mobile.
While i can play around with settings and eventually get a connection to work with my service provider, i would rather really understand what i am doing. For example, which connection settings are used when? Wap or Web? How does Windows mobile decide. And how about MMS, and what connection does that use? What exactly does the "work" setting do? I just want to try and understand how it works.
Is there somewhere on the net to read up and understand the settings? Maybe some MS sites?
Again, a specific setting with my service provider is not the problem. I want to understand how it all fits together.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Google is your friend!
... or maybe you want someone to find a spoon.
Well, apparently i am way too dumb to usefully engage Google, as i have searched numerously for an answer. All I am able to find is specific settings for particular carriers. This is not at all what i am searching to learn.
So, yes, if you have a "spoon" then i would appreciate being spoon fed.
"And how about MMS, "
mms use the connection you set it up to do in most cases it use grps with mms or something like that as accesspoint
"and what connection does that use? What exactly does the "work" setting do? I just want to try and understand how it works."
connect your pda to activesync and use your pc's network to surf
use wifi to surf use bluetooth to surf and you're using work as network
isp or what it's called on your device is only for grps

UK BT O2 internet settings

Hi,
I've searched but I can't quite hit upon the right combination of words to find the cab.
I have a Treo Pro, I bought it unlocked from and put in my BT-Vodafone sim for work. It worked well until they change to BT-O2. I put it in and now I have no internet.
I had a Tytn II with a network wizard that could configure the phone for any UK network, it was in a few of the cook roms also.
Does anyone have this in a cab for that I can throw on the phone?
Thanks.

keyboard is
"uk AND o2 AND gprs" this is what you type in apart from the "'s of cause
in the search page
under
Search in Forum(s)
you mark only networking it forum
but you may have to settle for manual settings but in most cases one only really
have to set an apn so don't really require much skills
