I want to find out if I can upgrade my old WM to a new one WM2003 and if yes than where can I find a good ROM ?
Thanks
You can flash wm2003 with the xda-tools available on this site. I used T-Mobile's update for their MDA, but this is available in German only.

 Maybe you already know this, but the Dutch O2 site offers a upgrade to Rom v3.17.03 and Radio v4.12. I'm currently downloading this version so I can't tell what's new so rest will follow !
You mean Radio 4.21 probably, not 4.12...
 Sorry, type-error. I didn't see on the O2 site what's improved in this version. I hope less 'No signal' messages !!
Can i use the unlock on this versions ?
regards. lars
I already managed to get my xda unlocked thanxs anyway!!

Hello,
i am also interested in upgrading my 64Mb XDA I to 2003 Version.
Nalye: How does the Upgrade worked? Do you have any problem in using or installing? Do you have any problems using the upgraded device with german O2? How about the Home-Zone Display and whole stability?
Thanks in advance!
Miwu
a cellphone company depend on the radiostack they dont know if you connect from a nokia phone or a xda with what ever rom
as long as you set it up right
@rudegar
Thanks for answering. German o2 uses a special application with the XDA, called "Home Zone Status", whats implemented in the original ROM provided by O2. With this application you get a special sign at the top of the screen if your device is in an defined area called HomeZone. The data used by this application must be provided by the gsm-part of the device, but i think, that the T-Mobile-Rom does not support the transfer of this informations because german T-Mobile does not provide this feature.
Does anyone experienced any solution for this problem?
homezone
i dn´t know ´bout a special program for displaying the hz-status, but i´m about to call o2 for an application to fix it.
the rom i cooked works well, but as you know every data got lost (about 350 sms or so) :x
try to cook it at www.yorch.net - coz stefan´s kitchen seems to be a lil´bit slow

1. Moved the topic to the correct Part of the forum....
2. Check ftp server here or http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
Here you can get a WM2003 ROM. Normally the simple process to update via EXE-File should work without any Problem....

I have a first generation TMobile PPC (PW 10B?) that has been upgraded to the TMObile release of WM2003. I saw on the Kitchen site the it can build a WM2003 SE ROM and I was wondering if my device will support the SE ROM?
Thanks

Yes you can. But the WM2003 SE has a few "problems" Read in the forum more about this.....

I changed to O2 and now I want to use the O2 Software on my MDA II.
If I want to install the newest Rom (the original from the o2-online homepage) it says that this Rom Image is not written for this Smartphone.
Where do I get a modifyed Rom for this?
Thanks andy
Quick question for all you pros out there. I just purchased the att version of the siemens sx56. Will receive in mail shortly. I want to upgrade to wm2003. As this is the 900/1900 verision, is it ok to use the qtek Rom 4.02.04. From what I understand the qtek 1010 is a 900/1800. Will this cause any problems?
Also is the t-mobile rom 4.01.16 any better than qtek rom?
Selecting any ROM causes no difference to the radiostack of the device. So you could take any ROM you want.
Selecting the ROM depends a little bit on the way you want to use the device.
The T-Mobile ROMs often have the Problem of reflashing the device. My personal
favorite is the 4.01.12
Stefan
Thanks for the quick reply. I will be using the internet a lot primarily through gprs and just want a stable Rom that wont hang or give me crazy problems.
What exactly about the 4.01.12 rom do you like over the others available?
I like the wmodem application of the ROM, also reflashing is easy possible.
And it´s one of the ROM´s that was nearly official announces by o2...
