XDA II and USB Hub - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Bit of a challege I need to use my XDA II to collect data from a USB barcode scanner. Is it possible to connect a USB Hub to the XDA and then connect the Scanners to the HUB :?

Dont think so, both the scanner and xda 2 are slave devices, you need master/slave to enable data transfer.

use XDA 2 to access USB hard disk?

Hi all
Is there any mechanism that you can use to allow the XDA 2 to connect to an external USB hard drive?
I know some of the new PDA devices will have USB Host controller interfaces built into them, but isn't there ANY WAY that we can achieve this with the XDA 2?
Thanks in advance
Akhtar
There is a Compact Flash to USB adapter available.
So if you had the XDA II BackPack accessory you could use that CF - USB adapter to connect to a USB Hard disk.
This isn't the one I have seen but is similar. Unfortunately though this one is only available on pre order http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=113389
The one I saw had a short cable with single male USB socket and was working in a HP iPAQ.

Connecting a large external hard drive to the XDA II ¿¿¿¿

Can we copy files from an external hard drive to XDA II from within XDAII using the USB cradle connected to the USB port on an external hard drive.
i.e Can I browse and external hard drive from with XDA II with some special software.
It is that old holy grail of connecting a large external hard drive to the XDA II
Drinks are on me for this one.
sorry usb devices are masters and slaves or hosts and peripherals
and the xda1 and 2 and 3 (as far as i know) cant play the host
so it can be access'd by hosts like the pc but cant access anything itself
You need the backpack and a CF USB Host card:

You will also have to deal with the issue whether the USB device or the USB hub needs mains power which makes it less portable
I haven't tried the above - anybody out there who has got it working?

otg cable question

guys, i was thinking is there any way to use usb dongle of internet via otg cable and access internet on galaxy s2
No dude u cant connect internet through usb dongle.....
It needs more dev support to gain such best features
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
it would be easier to remove the simcard from the usb dongle and swap it into the phone..
Would need someone to build the kernel module (driver) of the dongle if there is one, then write some kind of app to allow you to connect.
Also you would need to run the dongle via a powered hub or splice in some power I would think for it to work.
I cant see it happening.

Just wanting to know, would a USB hub work with usb OTG? so I can use a keyboard and mouse at the same time.
