What GPS has an rj45 connector for XDA2 Car kit?!?!? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Anyone have the car kit with the rj45 plug that is suppose to be for a serial GPS?
Know where to get the GPS that plugs into it? :?:

hi,
I got a arkon kit (with powered cradle, loud speaker, and rj input for tomtom wired gps receiver). This means that your gps is always powered, as is your xda, from 1 cable to the cradle from lighter socket. Never run your xda battery low again, or indeed your gps is always on, no charging like the BT models.
Works an absolute treat as a sat nav unit, also listen to mp3's, make voice calls (this is not so clear, but does work, but I have a nokia phone and car kit too for voice calls)
Have a look at this on ebay, like mine, in fact from same seller in uk!

not what I am looking for.... I have the powered car kit and are looking for a GPS reciever with an RJ45 plug on the end of it???

?? HELP

I have never seen a serial GPS that has an RJ-45 (or RJ-11 come to that). They all tend to have 9-pin DIN or 6-pin (keyboard connector-type) DIN. So, why not just buy whichever GPS you like that has a serial port, and MAKE a cable?
Or get a BlueTooth GPS and not use a cable at all?

Also the wired TomTom mice did have such a connector. I believe those are in fact a Leadtek . . .

GPS Mouse for Wizard?

Hi,
Anyone know if you can get a GPS mouse with a mini-usb connection and if so can it work with teh Wizard? (Thinking Tomtom)
Thank you
Anyone?
Do You realy need wires to connect?
I use Pharos GPS I360 with bluetooth adapter
and it works fine.
As far as i know you cannot use the miniUSB connector for GPS input (I could be wrong but i did a little reading before i decided to trust bluetooth [again])
However as fresh123breeze says just use a bluetooth one, seems to work fine with TTN5 (unlike TTN3 which was cr*p on bluetooth)
Thanks,
I have the Tomtom BT GPS receiver; I just windered if there was an alternate non-BT version
I would like a wired gps also
pre mda vario I used a HP2210 which was wired to a Haicom GPS when in the the car
The benifit was the ability to power the gps and charge the PDA whilst in the car. I never used the mains charger. Never had to worry about flat PDA of Btooth GPS batteries

2 bluetooth connections at same time?

Looking for a quick reply here. I'm considering getting a bluetooth car radio and need to know if my exec can be connected to it (as a hands free phone) as well as to my BT-77 GPS bluetooth reciever for my TomTom 5 sat nav application - at the same time... The car radio i'm considering is the Pioneer DEH-P55 or DEH-P70 series.
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance.
i don't know if it will work with you, but i used to connect my jasjar to my pc as AS and DUN at the same time, with my jabra bt500 connected to it simultaneously.
I use a Parrot Car kit (or Bluetooth Headset) at the same time as a BT77. So as long as your radio supports the "handsfree" profile, I don't see why it shouldn't work.
Cheers,
Steve.

TomTom 6 losing audio when car-cradled

I am running TTN6 on my TyTN, connecting to BT GPS, and working allrite when I hold it in my hands. But the moment I put the PDA into car craddle (which is only powering it, as I don't have handsfree car kit), TTN6 audio outputs (voice directions, alerts) are not heard anymore. When I lift the PDA from the cradle making the miniUSB jack unplug, audio is back OK. The cradle is Carcomm CMPC-95.
Ideas, anyone? I am convinced that the problem is NOT TTN6-related. Two other nav programs, namely Wayfinder, and AutoMapa, behave the same - they are muted the moment the device is cradled. Also, the problem does not appear when TyTN in cradled in my PC-connected desk cradle.
hmmm, strange to reply to my own post, but the problem still persists - and it is not limited to TomTom.
again: I am using CarComm car cradle for my TYTN.
whilst the device is cradled, taking power from car circut, no application audio is heard through PDA's loudspeaker. (nota bene I don'd have a car kit). Ringtones go off normally.
I checked that by lifting up and down the PDA during voice command in e.g. TT6. Powered: audio not heard. Not powered: audio heard.
please, help.
No audio in cradle
What cradle are you using? May the conector be as the earphones conector?
I have the same cradle, and my Tytn (vario II) audio gets muted too, though it only happens sometimes, and only after upgrading TT6 to 6.1.
When it does happen I go through preferences to mute audio (even though it's already muted), then un-mute, and the sound comes back.

Car HF mutes TomTom 6

Two weeks ago I purchased THB Bury Uni 8 Car Kit handsfree units for both of my cars. Last week I had enough time to install the first kit to my car.
The HF is working great, but today I noticed the first problem because I had to use TomTom 6 for the very first time since I installed the HF kit to my car.
Since the HF is connected to Kaiser thru its mini USB, it charges the battery when the phone is located in its cradle. The bad thing is that if you're using TomTom 6, the phone thinks that you've connected handsfree headphones to mini USB connector and therefore the loudspeaker of the phone is fully muted.
So my question is: does Kaiser mute its loudspeaker always automatically when headphones are connected to mini USB or is there a way to get them both work at the same time? That kind of arrangement would solve my problem...
I really hope that someone would know more about the HF function of Kaiser. Many thanks in advance!

TMC / FMRadio without antenna?

All,
is there a way through reg edits to receive TMC data in use with iGo and HyperGPS without using the headset as antenna?
I do not want to have additional things on my Diam when using navigation. May there is an edit where I can simulate the antenna??
If somebody wants to test it - please find HyperGPS attached.
coolio,
more than 300 views and no answer Guys, I like you
Ok, tested it with the plugged in USB cable, won't work......
I was told that it does not fit cause within the USB connection the 7th pin will not be activated.....holy sh....

Hi, I have the same problem. I have a nice cradle that charges my Diamond when driving and I don't want to change it. I don't think there is a similar cradle that includes the antenna. Therefore I decided to give up the TMC data even though I could get it with the headset plugged in.
You can get adapters that plug into the 11 pin Diamond plug and then split so you can charge it AND use a headset at the same time, but this would mean fiddling about with plugs instead of simply putting it in the cradle. That's too much fiddling and wires for me.....
Just thinkin about the tweak where you can use Audio Booster without headset. This is what I'm looking for, using TMC
it won't work since the antenna is used to receive the signals. As receiving radio without an antenna doesn't work receiving tmc without any kind of an antenna won't work either.
The thing with audio boost is completely different and is basically only an equalizer, don't know why HTC disabled this feature when on speaker.
Therefore TMC without antenna (e.g. Headset or RC-100 remote) won't work.
