Know how to make SMS icon disappear when read from inbox? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Here's the prob...
I receive an SMS. If im on the today screen, i click on the SMS icon on top. Icon disappears when i click any of the options (red blinking light also stops).
But...
When i receive an SMS, click on inbox and read it from there, the SMS icon on the today screen does not go away and the red blinking light does not stop unless i click the icon and close it.
Any solution?

Notification light does not clear correctly

I have just picked up my XDA exec and am just getting used to it. I have an issue with the green/amber notification light.
When I receive a text message the light changes from green (service indicator) to flashing amber...good so far. I then open the text and the light returns to flashing green (still good so far). I reply to the text message and I receive back the "Text Message Sent" notification. This causes the light to flash amber again, but this time I am unable to return it to green. I dismiss the notification and still it is flashing amber.
I can only clear this by going into "sounds & notifications" and exiting out, this seems to clear the light. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone else have this problem? Many thanks for any help with this.
well, you can controll this by going to>>
from Sounds and Notifications menu, click on Notifications below
then from the Event list, select New text message or whatever
and then check or uncheck Flash light or you can even change the period
of time you want the light to flash!
regards
Thanks, but I know that bit. I want it to flash when I get a new test message, but not when I get a "Text Message Sent" notification, as this isn't a text message. This worked correctly on my XDA 2s, it seems to behave differently on the exec, or I have set something up incorrectly.
Any ideas?
Hmmmm, I had this problem on my Jam. Can't remember exactly if/how it was resolved, have you tried changing the settings for "MMS Sent" (which seems to be the closest type of notification)?
Hi, yes checked that and it is set to not flash the light....in fact I only have "Incoming text message" set to flash the light....very confused now?
yeah mine does this as well, when the notification arrives telling me the sms is sent. Ironically it clears if your in the messaging app when the notification arrives, but anywhere else (today screen usually) the orange light keeps flashing, i'll do some further tests but that seems to be the case for me anyhow.

Hi, I have just tested this and I still get the amber light even when in text message application......
Yeah, as you say its not because I was in the messenging tab, its because in the 3ish seconds the notification is on the screen, I hit the left softkey for dismiss rather than waiting for it to time out, either that or it only does it with random txt's

I have been playing around with this and if I set the SMS notification to no flashing light then when I get the "Text Message Sent" notification the amber light only flashes for about 1 minute before returning to green. However, if I have the SMS notification set to flash the amber light for any amount of time then the "Text Message Sent" notification causes the amber light to flash for that amount of time also. It seems to mistake the "Text Message Sent" notification for an incoming text message....Very strange.

reduce delay for the tab green circle new notification (sms, mail)

hi,
is there a way to have a very short delay, when you read the new sms or email, to make disapear the green circle in the tab ... most of the times, you have finished to read your sms and when you close the menu, the tab still have the green circle and you have to wait or reopen it !!!!

notifications coming back

Hi,
When I receive e.g. an sms, I select the "remove notifications" button in the notification bar on the top... works fine but when a few hours later I open the sms-application I suddenly again get the same notification
It seems like the phone notices that I haven't "read" (opened) the text message yet...
Kinda silly especially for short messages that you can read directly in the notification bar.
Anyone else has this problem?
Cheers
B
well its actually not a problem for me, like you said unless you open the message the notification will keep coming.
so just open it i guess, its no big deal. i just did it in 1.5 seconds...

Clearing the message in from the notification bar only clears the message from the notification bar not mark it as read. You can change the settings in the messaging app if you want. Or if you want a pop up use 'SMSpopup' from the market.

how to remove notification automatically

Hi all,
Haven't found anything with the search, so I'm opening a new thread for this.
Everytime you receive an e-mail or a text message, etc. you will receive a notification in the top bar.
If I select the message and mark it as read, the notification will still be there. I will have to clear it manually. Can this somehow be changed so I don't have to clear it myself?
Thanks for your help.

Hi - Not sure about this one.. When I get a new email notification I usually click on the notification to take me to my emails... and that clears it from the list.. I will try going into email separately and see what happens.
Hi im_iceman,
I do the same. I click on the notification which brings me to the email or text message or whatever else. But the notification stays in the notification bar. it's only visible if you go into the notification bar though, but it will stay there forever unless you clear it.
It's not a major issue, but would be nice to have it automatically removed once you select the item from the notification bar.

search, read, learn.
if not mistaken, go to message tab, all messages/inbox, menu, settings, options, then untick "request delivery notification". I think there's no way delivery notification doesnt appear as a new SMS. Maybe there's an alternative to make it appear as a pop up, dunno.
hi,
I did search on the forim and google, i found some reg tweak not doing what i want, i tried some software but it was the same result.
i dont want to disable the sms delivery notification, it doesnt bother me to have them in the inbox, i just dont it to increase the number of new sms nor appear as new sms (and stop led blinking for delivery sms)
With my stock rom it was working like that, but i needed to upgrade...
all i dont want is it to be considered as new sms and the led from blinking.

search more. I'm sure I've seen a cab for that, really. The notification will only appear on the very top bar, tap on it, it gives you the type of connection, the battery, and on the third row the notification I think, and no new sms. enhanced notification maybe?

which stock ROM, exactly?
so with no new sms, I suppose the delivery notification should only appear on the top bar as a box icon that you must tap on?
My previous stock rom: 1.43 (was that since the day I did buy Leo)
My current rom is: Leo_HTC_FRA_1.66.406.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07
I tried Juggalo_x's enhanced notifications and clouding cab, but its not working: I sill get the blinking led and "1 new msg icon when I receive the delivery report"
