Where to buy LCM for XDA - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

well.. i finally smashed the XDA screen today. the display is gone. i believe the touchscreen is intact but i would prefer to change the whole LCM as the service center says. so where can i purchase the LCM and do the repair myself instead of sending it to a O2 service center?
please, no flames. i've looked on this website but none of the sites seem to work or offer to sell the LCM directly.
any help/links (working) appreciated.
Thanks!

liquid cristal monitor??
LCM???

that was what the service person called the item. i suppose that's the name for the whole LCD assembly. i was thinking liquid crystal module..

donpkong,
if you're from malaysia (as the flag suggests) It might be a good idea to source your screen module from somewhere else. the local o2 repair center (under Accord) is a sham...they're understaffed, unreliable...and very unflexible. I once wanted to buy the XDA housings from them, just like that... they wouldn't sell it to me. The excuse? "We're not a spare parts shop." I wanted to take it back cos I wanted to give the housing a new coat of flat black..but what now? Oh well. My phone's in there for issues with the vibrator.. went through the phone myself but couldn't figure out what was wrong. So trust them to give me a RM500 "change motherboard" quotation. Blood Suckers.

Authorized Repair Centre in Canada or US

I need to send my device for a fix.the housing needs to be replaced and I'm not able to use the touch screen anymore. I tried to re-allign, but it will not go. I tried to write a note with my stilus, and I have to squeeze the unit in order to draw a line in the center of the note. Can anyone suggest me a good repair center? I'm located in Toronto and the unit is not under warranty anymore. However, i looked on ebay and they are selling housing for $99 dollars. is there any other site where i can get the housing for less.

This place seels the housing for $65 apparently. Otherswise go to htc.com for details on out of warantee service.
PPCTechs might be able to help out.
I had mine repaired at a local cell phone shop, if they have a good tech guy there is a chance that they might be able to help. Not sure of one in TO though.

Anyone doing g1 repair?

I've got a g1 bought when they first came out that the screen stopped working on. I suspect that it's just the loose ribbon cable, since it's the initial run of the phone. The phone works, I can adb into it, there's just nothing on the screen. Unfortunately, I don't think I can send it in for repair, even tho it's inside the year warranty, cos I had changed the housing for a different color off ebay, which meant unscrewing the screws and breaking the void sticker. So, any recommendations of reputable-won't rip me off&won't break the phone while fixing it-repair services? I looked at the service manual, and really don't feel comfortable disassembling it myself when I am unsure what the problem is.
Edit-If you saw my earlier thread about flashing back to stock, in which I thought it was my fiance's brand new g1 that had died, we realized when we went to box the phone up that the IMEI on the dead phone didn't match the new box. I'd accidentally switched the phones when rooting his&updating the ROM on mine and not realized it. Moral of the story, never flash two phones at the same time!
Editx2-I'm in the DC metro area.
well since you've changed the shell it shouldn't be much harder to check out the cable. just remember in most cases if you have to force something to come apart you are probably are missing a step.
I've taken a few phones apart (bbs, motos, nokias, htcs) down to bare bones and their not that difficult as long as you follow the steps outlined in the service manual. If you are still uncomfortable messing with it and are near a big city most have well reviewed repair shops which offer warranties on their work. If they don't offer a warranty , I probably wouldn't mess with em.
Not sure anyone can recommend anywhere local (being that you didn't mention your local) but I'm sure a few other people can chip in on online sources(I've yet to use any so not comfortable with recommanding any, sry).
Good luck
I called up HTC a while ago, you can mail them your phone and they can do repairs. Just go to their website, it is under the support section. Unfortunately for T-Mobile replacements, one of the first things they ask is "Is the LCD screen working?"

I read on here that HTC charges likes $250 for repairing the screen tho, that's insane. I'm willing to pay a REASONABLE price to get it fixed by someone who knows what they're doing, but if the repair is gonna run me more than I paid for the phone and more than 50% the cost of a NEW phone, I'll suck it up and do it myself.
I can fix it for you, I have built a working G1 from two, one that was liquid damage and the other with a shattered lcd and digitizer. Where are you located, i am in alabama... now if you damaged the cable to the lcd, then it would require purchasing a new one. The lcd goes for $65 to $70 and the digitizer goes for about $80 on ebay.

I'm in DC, so mailing it to alabama is less than ideal. I'm exploring other options, thanks!
odds are you are gonna have to mail it off somewhere unless you do it yourself. i have had MANY phones and taken all of them apart to fix one thing or another, i never had any worries about my work and i never had a service manual. if something where to go whong with this phone i would be more confident in my ability to fix it since i can go find a service manual online

[Q] Q Cracked screen, repairs in Australia?

Hi guys I haven't been able to find any information about this on the Sony site, google, or on here.
My mate dropped his IPhone onto my Xperia Play my screen is demolished (very poorly built imo).
Would love to repair or replace the screen rather then buying a new unit any help would be greatly appreciated.
..... Poorly made??? There are a lot of people with broken iphone screens from dropping too.. What were you expecting? Titanium screens? There are second hand mobile phone stores that repairs screens.

I'm in Melbourne,
Been ringing a few places none of them have anything for the Xperia Play.
Do sony have any repair centres?
A few digitisers listed on ebay if you want to diy
Get your m8 to fix it, as its his fault I'm guessing :-?
Yeah he'll be paying for it, but still trying to locate how and where to fix.
I think if I tried diy I'll end up with alot more broken then just the screen.
What about posting it to Sony for a fix ?

That sucks man, I have repaired many screens on phones, I own a play and looking at deconstruction its easier then a HD2... Buy a digitiser off ebay and DIY if you fail you could post it to me in Canberra and ill finish the job.
to DIY it appears to remove screws from back around battery etc, split that part, remove ribbons and main board, remove screen connector ribbon.
disconnect Rail screws
4 screws on back of screen, remove these split screen open.
I have just smashed my screen here on my XP in the UK. Not happy. Need somewhere to fix it. Don't fancy taking it apart.
Sony's "official" repair place in Melbourne is Fonebiz.
Took me about 20 rings before anyone answered the phone, they are unsure if they can replace/fix it or when they will have stock to do so, they are unsure of the price but they want 30 upfront for something that isnt guaranteed and I'll have the option to go through with it once they complete the "quote".
Not really happy with the above, even though I'm not going to be paying for the repair as it was my mate that smashed my screen, I was hoping for something more "official" then some random mobile phone repair company.

Replacement parts??

Hi, i have braked my storm, and i need replacement parts
I Have (100% working):
Motherboard
Charging bootom part
all ribbon cables
midframe and housing
I need
LCD + Glass Digitizer
Where can I buy those parts? Or maybe there is someione interestedd ins selling storm with broken motherboard/buying new motherboard ? I've found LCD on aliexpress, but it's too expernsive. Also i dont know how difficult will it be to fuse glass to the LCD (LOCA/OCA glue??)
I too am trying to find a replacement LCD + Digitizer for a Wileyfox Storm. Any help on where to look would be great.
Can you give me the Aliexpress link as I couldn't see it on there?
Thanks
OK, wileyfox lcd thing for aliexpress expired. cant find it now i wish i could fix my storm or get a refund or something. I already disassembled my Storm, so warranty is void. But the screen is pretty easy to remove from chassy. It has 2 connectors 1 for LCD and 1 for digitizer
I'm sure I read that the display for the Storm was made by LG. Might you see if you can find a LG display with the same specification and connector arrangement?
I'm not sure if i can find it, but i'll do what i can. BTW my OneplusOne will come to me by saturday
My wife has broken the digitizer on her nearly new Storm. I would like to ask wileyfox to repair it (I would like to keep the warranty) but I cannot figure out how to contact them.
Does anyone know how to contact them?

I was able to contact them using the contact us details on the Wileyfox website.
Storm back cover
Hello. can anyone help me with Wileyfox Storm back cover ? My one is broken and i cant find it nowhere. Wileyfox official dealer cant help me. Maybe someone have faulty or broken Wileyfox Storm and can sell me by reasonable price all phone or only back cover. My email - [email protected]
PS: Sorry for my english
For anyone interested, I have a repair request with Wileyfox at the moment. I said the screen is damaged and the touchscreen no longer works. They said "It is not under warranty, but it will cost 60 / 90 pounds." So even if you aren't under warranty, you're not going to get much cheaper than that. Downside:
Please also be advised that our repair time takes 2 / 3 weeks since we receive the device.
However some delay might occur because we cannot directly control every phase of the repair process.

Suggestion for broken screen replacement, official service center or DIY route

I don't know if I'm the first Max Pro M2 user to break his gorilla glass 6 screen?
I would like to ask the community how best to go about this problem.
I wouldn' t mind going the DIY route since the warranty has lapsed and I'm okay with replacing the screen myself, I have all the tools with me.
But where do I source the screen separately and are there genuine manufacturers who sell them separately in India? (I live in Bangalore, so any leads would be appreciated, maybe post lockdown rules are lifted I can order them on amazon or something)
Going with the service center, what would the approximate cost of the screen replacement?

I would prefer DIY or get it done by a local shop once you get the parts delivered. As service center would demand for 6-7 k for the replacement.
