DLL restrictions - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi,
I'm working with a xda II (the spanish Telefonica's version TSM500) and i have a lot of problems by working with COM objects. Might the Operator Firmware be affecting the XDA issues?
thank you

I've used COM on XDA2. Had no problems at all.

XDA and TSM
Yes, but my HTC has a different firmware...
Anyway... I can register a COM object sith my ipaq3830 and i can't with my tsm500(xdaii). When i try it with regsvr_arm it shows an error: "126: unable to find the specified module"
Any idea??
Thank you!

Re: XDA and TSM
Try to register your DLL manually. With LoadLibrary("YourDLL") and GetProcAddress("DllRegisterService"). If this process would fail on LoadLibrary, than check for your DLL dependencies. GetLastError() result may also help. In this case you are probably using some DLL or a function that is not present on XDA. Or I had the similar problem when my DLL was linked with debug version of MFC DLL which is not presend by default. You should also check that your DLL is compiled with PPC 2002 or 2003 SDK targeted to ARM CPU.

Walshie, I just copied the contents of the rar to my \windows directory on the ppc. It does not seem that anything has changed since the old MS stack. Starting e.g. the BTConnmanagerCE.exe on the ppc gives me an error: Cannot find BTConnManagerCE or one of its components. Make sure...etc.... I also don't have the PAN service.
Where did I go wrong??
there are a lot of files missing can u post the complete files.

Did you download the Updated version?? Because i realised that i had left some files out so i found the rest and included them
Has anyone tried this on an XDA II? The last few bluetooth stacks I've tried have hosed my device needing a hard reset.
-no1
Walshie, I forgot to import your registry. having done that at least it starts the wizard, but it hangs on the next steps. Complains about a dll, which is included, but it is reported as missing. Just did a hard reset to get rid of this stack, so I cannot tell you which dll is erroneous. Could of course also be a registry entry which flunked. I did use the updated rar.
works on my pda2k... static seems a little bad at times. also unable to get the phone to allow you to answer a call from the headset, or even auto xfer the call to the headset.. and you cant hangup the call from a headset.

Be careful with some of the files u requested. Some of them are XIP device specific and will hang your device.

Correction. This update does not contain XIP DLLs. All DLLs are normal (not in eXecute-In-Place format), though lots of them are device-specific and would not work on other devices.
Does it work on xda lls ?
WHat is the steps to install ito my lls ? Thanks
WiFi
Thanks!

It is older than version used in 1.31 WWE ROM. And some other DLLs are also outdated.
I have a question:
Does anybody know what to delete in the bt list shown above that switches bt off when the pda is also off??? My bt stays on when the pda is off..
Thanks

Virtual com port source

Hi,
I tried to download the virtual com port source from http://mamaich.kasone.com/rover/RIL_hook.rar but apparently the site is down for the time being...
Did someone manage to download it while it was still available ? If so, could you please upload it here (or make it available somehow)?
Thank you.
There is another virtual com port driver available here
http://sf.net/projects/gpsproxy
Nice project, but it seems C# and uses the CF. I was looking for something in pure C... perhaps I can get inspiration and hack my own.
Perhaps you should ask the guy, which discussed and downloaded original to upload the current version and his experiences with it.

For me it seems, that you can take the DLL, referenced it the first answer to your thread, - modify the registry and WinCE will use it as newley available COM-Port.
(I will follow it too ! )
I tried to contact mamaich. lets hope.
my site is temporary down.

Rom cooking guru needed : contribution to open source project

Hi,
my name is Vincent R. and I am working on the open source project cegcc that provides an open source compiler targetting Windows Mobile devices.
We have noticed that latest version WM6.1 doesn't load dll > 64 kB with our compiler.
So basically we would need to compare kernels between a Wm5 or even better a WM6 and the WM6.1.
I have already tried to decompress ROM with all the tools I havz found and it works fine for OS but everytime I tried for XIP part there's an issue (wrong format, invalid offset, ...).
So what I am asking is if some people who have a goog knowledge in ROM cooking could email me (forumer [AT] smartmobili [D.O.T] com) the kernel file nk.exe from a WM6.0(or WM5 if you don't have WM6) and a WM6.1.
Thanks a lot

how to fix annoying expired certificates messages with win mo 6.5?

hi dears,
I am new to such a forum and I want to ask you how I can fix a trouble that probably many of you have had with windows mobile 6.5
I purchased an htc touch diamond 2 equipped with a 1ghz marvell pxa310 processor and with windows mobile 6.5
The problem I am experiencing with such a device is that any third party software I am trying to launch is stopping with an error message stating the certificate is not trusted.
I just upgraded the sdk certificates with the three new versions that are going to expire on 2015 and they are: privileged, unprivileged and failsafe.
This however did not solve the certificate error message.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thank you!
A diamond 2 (Topaz) would of come with Qualcomm MSM7200A 528MHz processor !
Hi, which processor I got has very small significance...do you know how I can run 3rd party software on this windows mobile 6.5 device?
I searched the web for a solution and the new sdk certificates did not solve the issue.
Is there any tool which has the capibility to re-sign the exucutables with the new certificates I just installed?
It has large significance as many chinese copies list the 1Ghz processor you mentioned & have problems installing software !
What software are you installing & what ROM build is on your device ?
You could take a look at this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506289
It might help ! good luck ...
hi, thank you for the link.
I tried the secutirty policies conteined in but they did not change anything.
I am just spending two days on this device and I am out of luck...
I tried changing different security policies before the 01_Update_Security_Policies cab file and no one of them have sorted any good result.
I found a good reg editor in the cd supplied in the box, it worked fine to do some adjustments but just like I have sayd no new security policy did solve the 3rd party software issue.
Oh well...I am trying to launch some powervr demos like the fur one and trying to run glbenchmark.
The rom version I got built in is:
R 3.43.25.19
G 61.20t.25.10u
D 1.39.47382
The phone is a chinese version equipped with a marvell pxa310 processor running at 1ghz.
I think I can not do anything more...if someone has any idea I would be so happy to hear it.
Thanks!
huh! I solved the issue...
the problem was not related to security policies that were preventing the execution of certain applications...it was that the error message was too generic and this let me think in wrong direction.
I had to install a proper gl es driver.
I think that some people could benefit from it...is there the chance to upload such a driver?
