Hi guys!
Since i've bought my xdaII i'm having problems with the phone part. It happens that where i'm sure there's plenty of signal the pda is searching for it (gprs and gps)?
Another thing is that i've installed the navman bluetooth gps navigator (with the problem of the pin characters!!!that was solved with the patch). After testing it successfully i tried to compare with the tomtom navigator software that was clearer than the first using the bluetooth Navman GPS. All seemed to be ok till the hard reset that cleared all the software installed. It' s third time it happens i,m desperate
Can it be a hardware problem or not
Thank you
Hi all...
Ive got TomTom 2.4 installed and am using the Rikaline x7 GPS receiver.
On two occasions when using the navigator to get me to a destination... it has crashed requiring a hardreset - it seems to crash wehenver i try accepting a call and navigating at the same time. Normally i annoyingly have to softreset the phone, but on the last occasions have had to do a hard reset. Any ideas why this could be happening and how i could try and avoid it. i am also having to use Towa's patch is that of any help, without which i can get the GPS receiver to work.
Thanks
Faisal
Hi, i've had my XDA II from O2 for 3 weeks now and have a few questions.
I seem to find that most, say 7 out of 10, times I use the O2 Task Manager from the O2 Active menu the device either freezes (I have to soft reset) or soft resets on it's own.
Was using XDAII yesterday with TomTom 2.24 (with GPS 2.09) connected to a CRUXII BT GPS device. Also had my Jabra 250 BT headset connected. Experienced several instances of this freezing when making calls, and then needing to get back to the TomTom s/w. Sometimes I couldn't get back to the TT software from the Start menu, hence trying the O2 Task Manager.
I'm not saying this always happens with the TomTom software in use (will be upgrading to V3 soon), but this was definately running yesterday when this was happening.
Many thanks in advance.
PS device has latest O2 UK ROM (v1.60.50).
PSS can't wait for the upgraded Wisbar Adv with Phone support Never had this problem(s) with TT on iPAQ 5550 and Wisbar Adv.
I'm getting fed up with the amount of times I have to reset the thing too. It is usually about 5 times a day and I am not running programms on top of each other so I am not overloading the CPU
I have an MDA Vario with Imate Rom and an adapt bluetooth GPS. After about an hour of navigating tomtom crashes the entire device. All hard-buttons fail - nothing happens. I cant turn it off either, only a soft reset works.
In Dutch forums other users, though not all, have similar experiences. Anyone here experience crashes? I have no resident software except Magic Button.
noone else experiencing crashes here?
maybe taking the sd card out will un-freeze it?

When the MDA Vario crashes is the MDA very hot ?

I have the same on Qtek 9100:

For now I only suspect the sd card. Do you have sandisk 1GB?
If you remove sd card while TomTom running you will have the same result.
when i click on tomtom navigator 5.21 on qtek 9100, it'll hangs forever until resetting. What now? I've sandisk 1GB too...
I suspect it is the ROM (Imate K-Jam now). I heard many positive experience with English T-Mobile ROM so Maybe I'll try that.
Crash after use of Tom Tom Navogator 5
Same experience. Crashed after use, disconnecting the supply and GPS module cable. Anyone who had the device working again ? And may we know how you did it
I have serious problems with my TyTn freezing all the time. Especially in TomTom it freezes every 2 or 3 screenclicks. Going back to the today screen (and then back to TomTom) solves the problem, but then a few clicks later the same problem.
Also in other applications the same problem, but not as often as in TomTom.
I hard resetted my device, but no solution.
Anyone the same problems (or perhaps a solution)???
I've noticed exactly the same in TomTom !

It sounds like a low memory or storage card problem. I have had the occasional freeze in TomTom, but this is quickly solved by pressing the Windows button twice to open and close the start menu.
I have noticed that memory seems to always be pretty low on my Hermes, regardless of what I'm doing.
As for a possible storage card problem, sometimes when accessing the storage card for the first time since a soft reset, you'll see a noticeable delay as it reads icon images from executable files. This mostly seems to be a problem with older software though.
i got the same trouble but i found i got more freezing on TT6 than the older version.
let me know if you have same guys, maybe because the map size is very big (around 1go)
bye
offhand I'd say there's a problem with TomTom...
tomtom 6 freezing+web page disappears
i have the same problem, tend to delay rushing next tap of stylus, seems to solve it, it seems it cant handle quick tapping in tomtom 6.looks like a memory problem on mda vario II.olso noticed when browsing my web pages .It defaults back to today screen, for no apparent reason.
the mda vario II is a great machine, just a few bugs,to solve.
had a mda pro before but this is a far better machine
Yup I have this problem on 5.21 and not tapping too quickly solves it.
Interestingly I needed an activation code from TOMTOM (I have legit TomTom software but due to a change of PDA hardware I have used the 2 device activations TOMTOM seem to give you).
And this is what they told me ".....Your PocketPC type is not compatible with our TomTom NAVIGATOR 5. We cannot, unfortunately, guarantee that your PDA type will work free of problems in combination with our latest software. Therefore we will not be providing you with an activation code simply because your model of PDA the ORANGE SPV 3100, is NOT at the moment COMPATABILE with our NAVIGATOR 5 product."
Thanks TOMTOM :x
anybody found the solution? i have the same problem.

A new version of TTN has been released, v6.100 (7979)
This has solved the problem I had on my Hermes with it locking up on the menu screens and I have seen a significant speed increase.

I have searched before ask, i don't find anything ((( with a little map works perfectly, but this isn't a solution ((
Can you help me to find the solution?
Thanks.
I have the same problem with Cingular 8525, i flash to Dopod Rom and now works fine, i don't know if this is why, but you guys can try!
I asked the same question. I have tomtom NAVIGATOR 6 and have the same problem. I got these answers and am debating whether to flash to unlock and upgrade the AKU to 3.3. It's a big step into bandit country for me:

I have had long debates with tomtom over its 'support'. The people I dealt with did not make me feel like a valued customer.
