HP 6315 BT Headset problems - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I own a XDA, MDA II and a HP6315. I've given my MDA II to my wife cause I bought the 6315 when it came out.
I'm here to tell you the at the bluetooth stack may have more function, but the headset profile sucks. 40 % failier rate getting the BT Headset to pick up during an incomming call. It's like the BT Headset and the HP 6315 come disconnected during a period of inactivity.
I think everyone should be aware of this before making their decision to move over to a HP6315. Unless they find a fix for the problem, you'd be trading a BT Stack that works 90% of the time in the headset profile for one that works 60% of the time.
Oh.. And if you get it to work, MS Voice Command doesn't pick up very well over the BT Headset on the 6315. It's not there yet.
If it wasn't for a full LDS Scripture set (www.yanceyware.com) and Microsoft Money (syncable) I'd be using a Symbian Phone today. No BT Profile problems there. Plus there's GPS apps for my BT GPS on them.

I have to say that I have not had the same experience with my h6315 and SE HBH-30 BT headset. I have been quite pleased with the performance of the headset profile - it performs better than I expected - and better than that on my i-mate.

I agree w/Brosenow. The BT reliability on the 6315 has been FAR superior than my xdaII.
I used the same headset, my hbh-65 on both & the soundquality is better too...not to mention if the pairing is dropped during a conversation(which happens on both), the 6315 at least retrieves the conversation immediately & my xda2 never did that...Then there's the lack of ability of switching manually from headset to phone on xda2 which was a "cluge" ...then throw in BT "audio", handsfree profile, PAN, PORT...it's really no contest in BT alone even tho everything else in the xda2 hardware (screen, proc.) is nicer...guess I shouldn't have dropped it then, huh?

Bluetooth Headset

I have a bluetooth headset working fine for calls, however have 2 questions. Has anyone gotten the headset working for things other than calls, such as media player? Also I have a problem with answering the phone with bluetooth turned off, if I turn it on while on the call and give it a minute to sync with headset and then try to transfer the call to the headset it won't work. But if I hang up and call right back the bluetooth will work.
I have the same problem but regrettably no answer: ( :? :? :?
bleuthooth headset
hello i have the bt g2 it s only 12 gramms and its works fine with my mda 2
You can listen media player with your headset ????
Without specific manipulation??? Not possible

Hi every1!
Actually, until someone (HTC, Micro$oft, or anyone else) comes out with a new Bluetooth stack that support the full Handsfree profile, (something any BT equipped mobile phone already does) there is NO other use of headphones.
Even the more simple functions are not implemented.
I think this is the worst part of the Himalayas right now. A wonderfull piece of hardware, but very poor phone functions.... to say the least.
BT6023
This is the BT Handsfree that Im using now. So far so good. No connection failure.
Handsfree?
Hi nelsonlye!
Sorry to say, but, This is not a headset?
Could you be more specific on the brand and model and the "handsfree" functions it supports?
Does it allow Voice Dial or any other voice input?
It looks like a conventional headset, so if no other functions are implemented, it IS a headset, NOT a handsfree device.
Furthermore, until HTC or Microsoft release a new Bluetooth stack, looks like no new functions will be available. And it seems it will take forever!
Regards.

Upgrade Pocket Bluetooth Tools 1.0.1.2

The current version 1.60 of the ROM includes already a virtual serial port but unfortunately it is a dynamic port, which is not visible to many applications. Also the ActiveSync support is difficult and complicated to use and if you want to synchronize with different computers you have always to couple the device again.
For future releases I plan the following improvements:
Support for Bluetooth headsets
Support for Bluetooth network access points
Send contacts and files through Bluetooth
http://www.angeltowns.com/town/bluetooth/
i am looking also for handsfree bluetooth support if any help on that
Yeah, headset works fine, it's the handsfree profile we need, that's the one adding enhanced features....
Do you know why some headsets work better than others? I understand that the profile does not work and therefore you can not use the functions on the headsets, but I'm curious if your recent fix will help headsets such as the Jabra BT250 communicate better with the device. The HBH-65 has no issues, but Jabra does note, often very slow to connect. I like the Jabra because I can hear better-age you know.

Maybe because of the headsets itself ? I bought a HBH-35 and can do [/quote]anything with it, walk out of range and back, turn it off and on, reset the MDA, chanrge the headset etc etc. without having to re-pair...

What headset-functions do you mean ? Caller ID ? Voicedial etc. ?
That's not in the headsetprofile, that's in the handsfree profile. the headsets with enhanced functions use the handsfreeprofile also, nut just the headsetprofile...
downloaded and installed 1.0.1.2 fantastic my new bt gps works! However I can not use my gps and hbh-65 headset at the same time, any ideas please
Simply stated I was wondering if the new blutooth fix might help the Jabra BT250 work better. I know other headsets work without issue, but Jabra seems to have some problems, and I doubt that this is a Jabra problem, I believe it is a BT Device profile issue.
Can I have another link to the software cause the link is blocked from my ISP, or can any body upload it here or any other palce...
Best regards,,,
I have a new HBH-200, it works ok to answer a call but all the other features are not working, such as caller number etc.
Like i said; It's not i the headsetprofile. The headsetprofile doesn't do much except making a wireless headset possible. Answer, dosconnect and talk and listen, that's all...
Everyting else is in the handsfreeprofile (handsfree is used for advanced options for headsets and carkits)...
Link down????? :?:
not for me
Handfree Profile
I have 2 phones, XDA II and a Nokia 8910i.
My bluetooth Headset is the Ericsson HBH65.
To my surprise, I have paired the HBH65 with both phones and I am able to receive calls from both phones (not at the same time of course) without any problems. Whichever phone rings first get the use of the HBH65. In conflicts however, the Nokia seems to have priority over the XDAII, which is fine with me, but I am so happy that it actually works.
As others are mentioning, I am really missing the enhanced functions of the Handsfree Profile. Can anyone suggest any solution or perhaps work on resolving this issue as a lot of people are waiting for this. I was aware that Towas was planning to release a new version to his BT Stack Fix, has he got anywhere with that by any chance? or anyone else?

HP BT stereo headphones with XDAII

Does anyone tried to connect the XDAII with the new HP BT stereo heaphones with XDAII?
I have this HP device but can not install it.
Bummer..
Widcomm BT Stack on XDAII...
HP BT stereo headphones does work with XDAII (myself and few friends have been using it for a while now). You will need to install Widcomm BT stack (1.0.0.3500 or 1.5.0.2000, or the one that have High Quality Audio Profile) though.
However, you will loose Bluetooth Headset profile if you install Widcomm BT Stack. Apparently BT headset does not work with Widcomm stack on XDAII yet. I've managed to get the headset detects incoming calls, take calls, but still no sound coming out from the headset yet. Still trying...
Interesting. Will check it out and reply.
This is my experience using a HP bluetooth stereo headphone bonded with an O2 xdaII. I use Wincom 1.5 Build 2000 from "dtktvu". So far the setup has worked very well. After having used the setup for three weeks, my impression is as follows:
1. Connection with headset is very stable
2. Stereo sound is clear, quality is quite superb really.
3. So far this setup works only for music, it does not work together with bluetooth headsets (if you happen to have one). This means that you can not use your headset at all while using the headphone.
4. The only inconvenience is that if there is an incoming call during song playback, the music pauses but there is not any other audio warning. On the screen you do get a warning that there is an incoming call, though. So in my case, while I listen to music, if I hear a sudden pause then I know that there is an incoming call and act accordingly. Now, let us come to the next point....
5. You have to use Windows Media Player as the player for point 4 to happen. I am not sure how the setup will react to incoming calls with other players such as Winamp, GS Player etc..
6. Battery life is quite good. I get about 6-7 hours of playtime from the headphone.
Now, if only someone will update this Wincom Driver further so that it can work together with bluetooth headsets, then we will have the best of both worlds... Maybe donations from potential users to provide incentive to some expert out there.

Widcom on XDA II without Windows Mobile SE?
I would also like to use the HP bluetooth headset. I have a XDA II (not IIs). Will the Widdcom stack install on this? I am currently not running Windows Mobile SE.
Many thanks.

Try MS VoiceCommand - in new 1.5 version there is incoming call voice notyfication (normal ring goes at half of the sound level and voice engine reads callers ID) maybe it will go through UR headset.

Thanks for the pointer, didn't work though.
Would welcome any other ideas.
Will this work on XdA2JoJo.v3.2zS version that has broadcom 3900? I'm planning in getting one.
Need advise...

HP BT stereo headphones with XDAIIi
Hi,
I've read the thread but cannot see any indication of someone using an XDA IIi and the HP BT stereo headphones. Anyone know anything about this particular combination? So far I know the software that comes with the HP BT stereo headphones will not install on the XDA. And without the BT high quality audio profile installed I cannot get past pairing the devices. Any ideas?
Thanks,
R

I am using this combination.
I have HP iPaq BT stereo headset and O2 XDA IIi.
Just did the following.
0 Full backup!
1 Uninstall a GPS software that was using BT Serial Port (GPS tuner, OziExplorer, Russa)
2 Uninstall BT Tools
3 Remove all paired devices
4 Soft reset
6 Install Attached file (warning: with this patch you will not be able to use a HandsFree BT, so if you do not really mind, then continue).
7 Soft Reset
8 In BT manager Find HP Headphones and pair them with password "0000"
9 Start Player and press a cental button on headphones.
10 Then I installed back GPS software and BT Tools.
11 Check thet everithing works fine, make a full backup.

headsets
I have three stereo bluetooth headsets here for testing purposes:
- Logitech Wireless Bluetooth MP3 Headphones for PC (aka Hewlett Packard FA303 or Toshiba PA1831)
- Motorola HT820
- iTech Blueband
I have tested them on my Qtek 9090 (BlueAngel) and they all worked fine. There is not much diffrence in audi quality, the diffrence is more in the comfort of wearing them. Most of my collegues liked the Motorola the most but I prefer the Logitech. The iTech feels a little bit cheap...
More experience and info about stereo bluetooth headset is posted on http://www.robertwebbe.nl/A2DP.html.
Has anyone connected headphones with XDAII? i can't at all( after installing broadcom 1.5 phone cannot call correctly, i can't hear anything(
I have a iMate PDA2k EVDO & iTech BlueBAND headpones. I was able to use use the BT headset to use the phone however as the Broadcom 3500 stack didn't come with a Audio profile I couldn't hear music (mp3s via WM10). I installed Broadcom 3900 stack - can now hear stereo music but the volume on the phone is so low I can bearly hear it. Otherwise my PDA is stock standard Windows 2003 WWE etc. Any suggests? As I am a new owner, I would appreciate the help. Cheers,
Hi
I have recently received a Blue Angel from our mobile provider and it comes with the Bradcom stack 1.0.0.3900.
Does it have A2DP integrated, or I need to install anything to make it compatible? I am interested on a Motorola HT820 headset and i want to make sure it will be compatible...

XDA Exec & bluetooth headset; does it work well?

Hello all,
I'm considering moving up to the XDA Exec; especially now that I see many contributors here have worked out how to get it running well.
However I suspect that, with its bigger size, using a bluetooth headset will be even more important. My experiences with my XDAII were that it was never quite reliable enough to use day-to-day (even after trying different bluetooth stacks etc.)
So what are your experiences:
- does it work well
- how about the voice dialling via bluetooth
- caller id on compatibale headsets work?
cheers,
Pete
I'd say it depends on your headset, but yes: The Exec handles my Bluetooth headset more reliably than my XDA2 did.
I've got a SonyEricsson HBH-65 that was occasionally great and occasionally infuriating with my XDA2, but it seems much happier with the Exec. It's not perfect since it's tough to interpret the various bleeps and boops that the headset gives out and understand what they mean, but I'm getting used to it. It'd be a lot easier if the headset makers could give us more than one button...
With my HBH-65 and my Exec I can receive calls and use voice dialling to make calls (provided I've configured the voice dial commands already). The voicedial bleeps are a bit quiet in the headset but trial and error might improve things.
Some people seem to have problems using voicedial if their Exec is closed and turned off, but I don't seem to have the same problem. The first press of the headset button switches the Exec on and then a second one gives me the voice prompt.
Hope this helps
I've tried a Bluespoon AX and a Plantronics Discovery 640 with my headset and while they both appear to work fine functionaly, the quality of the audio is bad. I've tested the same bluetooth devices with other phones and the quality is much better.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm going to go into to O2 later today and see if they've had reports of this before. Maybe I have a dud device.
I have an Exec, a Jasjar *and* an MDA Pro the Exec is mine, the rest is Eval.) and the Exec and MDA pro handle BT Headset fine. The Jasjar however keeps dropping the connection between the device and the headset. Flashing the MDA Pro with the Jasjar ROM made that the Pro also started dropping the connection between device and headset.
Conclusion, something is flaky in the Jasjar Rom.
There are a number of posts relating to this dropping of connection in this forum.
G'day
I have had the Jabra BT800 for a few months and never used it as it was pointless with the XDA IIs, but it works perfectly with the JasJar. It even rings about half a second before the phone does and shows the callers number (pitty it doesnt show the name from the phones contacts).
I am happy i didnt sell the BT800, as now i can keep the JasJar closed in my pocket when i just need to answer the phone.
Paul
ive used a jabra bt250v no problems voice dial is much better and works fine but i havent found how to get the audiogaeway working any ideas anyone so i can get tomtom throught the headset
JJ and Jabra BT 800 work well and voice dial works very well. Have made 1.5 hours in the last two weeks and not dropped calls. When used inside a car or in a room the signal is okay but as soon as you use the Jabra BT800 and JJ outside the signal gets weaker.

Anyone experience with MDAII & Bluetooth headset?

Hi all,
I have an MDA II and a Plantronics M2500 BT headset. So far so good....
I managed to connect them together, and after some work (bonding, etc.), I was able to phone using my headset.
However, I have the following problem:
If I switch on my BT headset and enable BT on MDA II (so BT 'on', BT headset mode 'enabled'), the 2 devices do not automatically connect.
I have to 'play around' a bit, e.g. by disabling/enabling BT headset mode, turning BT settings on/off/discoverable, turning on/off the BT headset, and try calling some numbers for testing before it works.
After a short while (and if I'm lucky , I can call and receive calls using my headset.
This is of course not the ideal situation. I'd like to have the devices work automatically as soon as I turn them on.
I have the suspicion that this is a bug.... Did anybody else have similar problems and does anyone have an idea how to get this fixed?
Oh yeah: I am using a BT GPS mouse as well for TomTom 5 and this device is also bounded to the MDA II.
Thank you very much in advance!
BTW: the quality of the BT headset (once I get it working) is pretty good, so no problems there...
Yep, one of the problems with (some) BT sets...
Didn't have is with a Sony Errocson HBHxxx, did with a Jabra, didn't with a Supertooth2 etc....
Try the famous BTtools, it often helps...
Or get another headset
