Is it possible somehow to use mmf files as ringtones? The mmf file format is commonly used as ringtones in other phones.

Why not just copy the files in the /my documents folder instead?

Ringtones go either into the Windows\\Rings folder or onto the root of your storage card. . . and, yes -- they can be mp3's

I want to know if it is possible to set a ringtone from ym memory card as the standard ringtone?

Or, you can just copy the .mp3 to your phone or SD card, then with File Explorer, navigate to the file, hold the stylus on it until the menu comes up and hit "Set as Ringtone" Thats what I always do. Then under Settings-Sounds-Notifications, it should show up and be selectable as a ringtone...
But, yes, it will copy the ringtone to your phones internal memory, so I am not sure if there is a way to run it off the memory card directly....

you can create a folder in the sd card with the name ´my documents´
inside create a folder with the same name of the ringtones
with this you can use probally all of your music as ringtones and save more storage in the internal memory.

WAV is too big. How come Smartphone edition can use mp3 files for alarm and PPC can't?
I've been searching around and have round a few Ringtone directories in the G3. However:
1. I am not having much success when I copy over a .mr4 (ringtone) file, as when I pull up a contact, to connect my ringtone to it, they do not show in the list, even after a reboot. But I am able to use mp3's from the music directory, also
2. when I pull up the contact, to edit/change the ringtone, G3 will bring up the 'stock' directory for LG ringtones (where the heck is that located as I can't find that particular directory), and if I choose the + sign to select my own ringtone,
3. it will only take me to the music directory, so I can not navigate to find my uploaded ringtones...
Any help is appreciated.
Default is system/media/audio. In there are 4 more folders, ringtones, alarms, notifications & ui.
Also in the root of internal sdcard there are the same 4 named folders where new ringtones, alarms, ui and notification sounds can be copied to.

Thanks. Any idea on why when I try and select a custom ringtone, the only directory which comes up is the music director (which is on my SC card)?
I can not find a way to 'search' or go to a different directory.

All the ringtones I've copied to the "Ringtones" directory on the internal SD card show up when I try to change a contact's ringtone. Are you sure an .m4r file is compatible? That's Apple's format for the iPhone. Try copying an mp3 file to that directory, and see if it shows up.
Here's a program which claims to convert m3r files to mp3 files: http://www.zamzar.com/convert/m4r-to-mp3/

You may easily create a folder named "Ringtones" in the internal flash, not microSD card, and copy all your custom ringtones there. The reason is if you eject your microSD card all your custom ringtones will be set back to default since folder of microSD will not be available
I don't know the .M4R thing but all phones can see .m4a format music and may use them as a ringtones

Internal flash and internal SD are the same thing.
