Go to SMS any folder. Then tap Menu>Tools>Manage Folders... Tap and hold on any folder and choose "New folder"
Hope this helps.
are you using a threaded SMS style? or the classic inbox?
if you are using the normal classic inbox, (in the inbox/messaging appication) go to menu (right soft key)>tools>mangae folders> then tap and hold a folder (for example inbox)>a pop up menu comes up and then tap on New Folder...
it's a bit tricky and hidden (no actual menu entry) so most doesn't know this even exsists..

I'll add to this..
If you have WM6.1 with threaded style Inbox, you can disable threading first (do search how) and then you can "manage folders" to add a New Folder.
After which you can enable threading again.
ahh thanx, the problem was the THREADING. Cos the "new folder" option was greyed out.
thnx ppl
Do You know maybe appkication, which will autamatically (similar as in mail clients) put sms to ritght folder according to rules (phone numebr, subject etc.) ?
Thanks in advance.
Easy Helper SMS Security takes certain messages to a seperate program, which can also be password protected
You set rules for the filtering, ie names, numbers, keywords etc

SMS Deletion

Can anyone tell me how to move read SMS into the Deleted folder? After choosing the Delete option they seem to get completely deleted, rather than being put in the Deleted folder. Is this normal? Even when going via the "All Messages" tab, the option of Move isn't available. I would like to be able to clear the Touch Flow message screen but edit the Deleted folder later.
Thanks.

True, the messages get completely deleted if deleting using touchflo. My method (to get deleted messages to deleted folder) is by going to "All messages" - SMS/MMS Inbox - Menu (bottom right) - delete. This should send the message to the "deleted folder".
Thanks, You've solved the problem!
But be careful, by default only 50 messages are kept in the "deleted" folder, so you might lose messages that way. You can increase this value with a tool like advanced config...
To keep the manilla sms page clean i created an "archive" folder where i move all old messages, so none get deleted and the sms page only shows the newest ones...
How did you create the extra folder? I have tried to do this but Manage Folders option in Tools is "greyed" out on mine. Might not be a problem as I've just noticed that I currently have 51 items in Deleted folder! Might not have a limit on my version but would still like to make additional folders.

This is how I worked around. Edit registry to disable chat mode.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
Set SMSavailable=”0″ to disable chat mode (default is "1" = enabled)
Restart.
Go to "All Messages"
Menu - Tools - Manage Folders - menu driven from there.
Now you can move messages to the newly created folder including "Sent" messages. However I am not sure about the storage capacity allowed.

Method above is no good. It also kills the incoming SMS (sound) notification.
Follow this one. I've tested and works fine.

Bulk Delete Emails

One thing that annoyed me about the iphone was having to delete every individual email to clear the inbox. Then, you'd have to go into the trash folder and start manually deleting them from there too. WM was great for this, you'd just hit "clear inbox" and they would all dissappear. hurrah!
Android/hero seems to have copied the stupid iphone method. or... am i missing something? is there a better way to delete items from the inbox?
In the Mail app, press the menu button and select delete. Then you are able to select multiple messages to delete in one go

Yeah, thats what i'm refering too. If you had 50 emails you'd have to tap each one individually to delete it.
No, you don't.
When you are in the screen to select which messages you want to delete, click Menu again. It will give you the options to Mark all or Unmark All. This way you can delete ALL messages in one go. Remember that the Menu button changes screen over screen, many hidden functionality is there

Navigating E-Mails

Done a search but didn't come up with much, so apologies if it's been asked before.
Is there an option/reg hack that means you can select e-mails in an inbox without opening them? With the lack of directional buttons and touch only, I can't navigate to an e-mail that I just want to delete rather than read.
Any tips?
Thanks
Tim

While you are in inbox, open the right soft menu & in select messages option select several.
Now, select messages you want to delete & keeping over any one of selected messages click & hold.
Now you get an option to delete the messages you have selected.

A2017G - Select all email

In the Email app I cannot find a way to select all the messages, but I have to select them one by one (for example if I want to empty the deleted mail). Is there an alternative way?
Thank you

You can clear all of the messages in one section. For example Trash. If you go to Trash and swipe down just a little you'll see two buttons, Clear and Edit. I have no idea what Edit does but Clear deletes all the messages
