Does it is possible to get the key messages ( eg. key_up , key_down )
from a BT headset ? (VB.net)
I think that will make a headset a good remote control for a PDA.
The volume up/down keys on a headset are local. They don't transmit to the device. The answer/hang up button(s) do transmit, so you could capture that. If you could capture that and turn it into a button press on the device, that could be very useful for voice dialing.
Tis is what i want, but dont know how to capture the button press on device.
Tried an app that captures all hardware buttons off PPC, but dont work with a the button from headset.
Is there no way to monitor incoming bluetooth sendings ???

i have an HTC wizard with WM5 and i am using a plantronic bluetooth headset that works great except that when i press the button on the headset i cannot make the phone activate the windows built in voice dialing. The button works fine to comnad the phone to hang up ans answer a call. does anyone know ho to have the bluetooth headset button activate the builting voice dialing ?
Hold that same button in that you use to answer/hang up until you hear a beep. Then you will see your phone switch to the voice dialing screen and you will hear one more beep. After that just speak the command you want to execute and the system will re-play the command back to you if it recognizes it. Works great on my 640!
Hey All,
Is there any way to control the volume of the call when using a Bluetooth car kit. My ute has a Bluetooth system built into the stereo, but the volume on the stereo does not control the volume of the call. The manual states to use your phone to adjust the volume, but the handset volume does not do it either.
Is there a fix or a way to get the volume dial on the phone to work with Bluetooth.
I've read around and discovered that the HTC wired headset button only does pick up, and hang up. By pressing it twice it redials. I understood that a long press of this button can't be assigned.
I would like to change the double press option on the wired headset to activate Microsoft Voice Command. Is there a registry hack for this?

Or do I have to switch to a bluetooth headset.

Unless something has changed...I think the only way to activate MSVC remotely is to use a bluetooth headset. It is a pain if you use nice sounding wired headphones and still need to drag out your phone to make a call. I can't believe WM hasn't fixed this issue. I had a voice dial button on my Sony Ericsson P800 headset from ...uh...6 years ago??? I hope someone proves me wrong because I listen to music all the time with a wired headset through an iPhone headset/mic adapter.

Thanks. I am now able to start MVC by double pressing the button on the wired headset.
I did so, by replacing:
\Windows\redial.exe
with a copy of \Program Files\MS Voice Command\voicecmd.exe
Now I can control my MP3's and dial whomever I want without reaching for my phone.
This didn't work with bluetooth redial.
Any ideas how to change the bluetooth redial command to something else ?
Nice one... was away to post the same question.
Glad I searched first
Thanks!
Hello, this thread is a continuation of the thread I posted here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461169.
I now know that my headset is not AVRCP equipped so it will not do all the functions I would like. However i notice when i hold the Call button on my headset for an extended period of time what I believe is the voice command pops up (a little microphone next to the Bluetooth image along the top. Is it possible to reprogram the phone to accept the hold function as a pause/resume for media playback?
Thank you, reminder this is a BT headset not the wired version
I'm using Nexus 4 with stock 4.4.2, rooted, and iSimple BluStream (find BluStream on the Bestbuy site - no links here, sorry) as the handsfree/A2DP bluetooth device in my car.
The device works perfectly fine - it pairs both as a headset and as a media receiver at once. However, it has only one hardware button, and pressing this button always results in redial (when not in call), answer (during incoming call) or hanging up (when in call).
I tried all apps I could find, such as Headset Button Controller, Headset Droid and JAYS Headset Control trying to assign different actions to clicks, double, triple clicks etc.
Neither one works.
Regardless of an app and its settings the headset button always invokes either redial, answer or hangup.
All these applications have "monitor" mode that allows to see headset button events it receives. Neither application sees any headset button click at all, like the headset is bypassing the apps! All apps also have "check for conflicts" option that checks if any other app has top priority to receive headset button clicks - and all apps always say "no conflicts".
media_button_receiver in Settings storage -> settings.db -> system changes accordingly to the launched app - it shows either JAYS Headset control or audioplayer - whichever is running.
There are also four bluetooth_headset_priority parameters in Settings storage -> settings.db -> global, with four different MAC addresses and the values of 100, 100, -1 and 1000.
Anyway, my problem is that regardless of what I do (install various button remapping apps, change settings etc.) the headset button always behaves like it is hardwired to redial/answer/hangup.
I tried to google around (including this forum), but still have absolutely no clue, like I'm the only user having such problem.
Any ideas are much appreciated!
