Hi,
Siemens SX45 Cassiopeia - Does anyone know if this device is compatible with any other device as I cannot find any resourses for it - I need windows CE 3 for it and I'm trying to find a Lumberg jack for the headset.
It appears to be very similar to the XDA and has SD and CF expansion slots but no Bluetooth.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve Gadd.
no it's really old and dont use the same cpu it use mips cpu not arm
it's not made by HTC and it's OS is not pocketpc

Hi,
I was thinking about what moves to take to make WM5.0 compatible with the Alpine platform. The Alpine platform uses an Intel PXA272 chip which has most of the logic for things like bluetooth/wifi etc. from what I could see quickly while browsing through some documents.
Because of this I went looking for a PXA272 based device with WM5.0 on it and I found one PDA (not a phone device I fear) on Microsoft's Windows Mobile website: The Intermec CN30
A PDF with specifications can be found here:
http://epsfiles.intermec.com/eps_files/eps_spec/CN30_spec_web.pdf
Unless I'm very wrong a ROM dump of this device and some driver modules (Wifi in this case since the device supports the g standerd, QVGA driver and perhaps a bluetooth and keyboard driver) should be enough to build a (partially) working version. I admit that I'm a noob to building my own WM5.0 version but it was just a thought I wanted to share, especially since it's the first WM5.0 based PDA I've seen with the PXA272 processor.
I would love to try some multiplayer game on my wizard, which comunicates using Bluetooth with another PPC.
I found such a gameunder the name: Billiard Master 2
Version: 2.03
Release Date: 5 March 2005
http://www.mobirate.com
Excellent billiard and pool simulation game for PocketPC with realistic physics, good hi-res graphics and multilingual interface.
Features:
* Bluetooth multiplayer (play against your friend)

Bluetooth is only supported on PocketPC devices with
Broadcom(WIDCOMM) drivers v1.4 or later. This should be true on almost all PocketPC devices.

Is there a way to workaround the fact that WM5 does not use Broadcom?
//Robert
i need widcomm drivers
WM5 uses Broadcom
You can find Broadcom stack in hx4700 with WM 5.0
i want to enable bluetooth PAN user driver
I've got a 4700 with WWE M2005 and if someone needs this stack from me then please show me how to do it.
I'm verry interested in the Widcomm stack because it works better at the moment then the MS one om my Wizard.
Cheers,
Drifter
I was under the impression that the Bluetooth stack implementation is an OEM option only. Whoever did the WM5 implementation on the Wizard (HTC?) made the decision to use M$'s bluetooth stack instead of WidComm's. As such, I don't believe it can be easily lifted...
i once installed widcomm on my Wizard and PAN network connection was enabled. i found widcomm for windows CE on the ftp of XDA uploads. now everything is deleted . if you install widcomm you get the PAN enabled under networkcards that is all i need so i could get a connection without activesync on every pc. is there anybody who can post the Widcomm for windows CE drivers on XDA please?
widcomm 1.5000
its on www.indoxda.net/index.php?nId=324
haven't tried it myself so use at your own risk
please post if it works for u I'm thinking of trying it myself
DUDE, thank u VERY much! finally someone who helps me i'll try it if my phone will be wrecked you will hear
it works partially, it can't activate bluetooth because Comm manager is already running. does anyone know how i can disable commanneger bluetooth so i can run widcomm only? you can see on the screenshots he alsol has comm disabled and he tells also :|
hmmm... "not easily lifted" isn't much of a problem to the people here . Great link galleon1388!
Btw: there's a lot of folks at TreoCentral who would like to see this work as the Treo700W BT implementation is a pos.
"Bluetooth Radio failed to turn on due to insufficient driver memory available"
Performing a normal reset doesn't help things.
I followed the directions to the letter. Can someone help here?

Same here...I cannot access the link to which you are referring...tks to the gov. of the PRC.
Guys, you will have to wait a bit longer.
Look at this thread
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,59/func,view/id,14572/catid,26/
Seems that Widcomm is unstable under WM2005

my audio isnt working anymore, anybody know how to fix plz????
Hi guys,
Really hoping someone can help me here as getting very frustrated.
First off, I just need to confirm what model of phone I have! It's the MDA Compact II, so I assumed the Charmer, yet does not have WM5 on it, it's WM 2003 SE. Is this still a Charmer...or a Magician?
Originally I had another unit which came direct from TMobile, which had WM5 on it. I lost it. I bought another one off Ebay but it appears to be an older model phone, with WM 2003 SE on it. (Didn't realise this at the time grrrr).
Anyway I bought a Bluetooth dongle the other day to use with my laptop. My only need for it really is to simply transfer files between the laptop and the MDA.
I've installed the software that came with the dongle (Bluesoleil) but I can't see obviously how I am to transfer files. I can pair the devices but they will not connect with each other. Do I need to use FTP? If so, I can see no provision for this on the MDA.
Hayy-elllllp!
Many thanks in advance,
RHF
Hi, the easiest way how to recognize these units is to look at the information about the device (settings - system). The older version (magician) has 416MHz clock of the cpu, newer version (charmer) has only 195MHz clock of the CPU.
It can only be the Magician. There is no Charmer with WM 2003SE and no Magician with WM5.
Hello,
I have scoured the forums and think the name of my phone is the Andes. I am unable to find a guide on how to install the roms and software from a complete beginners point of view. Please help i bought mine off ebay and it has a problem. If i could flash it i could rule out the phone being faulty.
Cheers
Peter
no IIi is called alpine
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Alpine
Go to Start - Settings - System - Device Info.
Select the "Identity" tab.
PH10B = Himalaya, can be upgraded to WM5 and WM6
PH10C = Alpine, cannot be upgraded but does include WiFi.
Hope this helps.

I'm confused (doesn't take much), I thought that I had an Alpine judging by the only pic I can find (02 Xda ll)but checking the device info as suggested gives
CPU Intel (R) PXA263
speed 400Mhz
Ram 128Mb
Flash 32Mb
chip type 28F128K3
storage 14.57Mb
Identity PH10B
Is it an Alpine or a Himalaya?
and can it be upgraded hardware and software?

PH10B makes it a Himalaya and so it can be upgraded to WM6.
The Alpine and Himalaya are externally identical with the exception of an Alpine saying Xda IIi and not XdaII. The other check is does your have any WiFi, i suspect not as it's a Himalaya.
Hello, I Realy Need Some Help, I Have An XDA 2I Running MW 2003 SE >. (Alpine) 50 Gs Storage 50 Gs Programs... Im Am So Sick OF 2003 Se... I Hate It Soo Much.. I Will Be Happy Even To Run Linux On The Dam Thing.... I Have Upgraded My XDA2 To Wm 5.. But It dosent Work Anymore.... I realy Need to change the mobile os on my 2i.... please even android will be good anything... I Have tried so many upgrades for XDA2 but they dont work they say connection error. Please help me any mobile OS.. Even A Samsung OS..
IIi don't even have stable WM5 or WM6. Android on this device is pure fantasy, not to mention that Samsung crap.
Also, you should check Alpine forums, not Himalayas. You will more likely find your answers there.
Maybe sell that IIi and buy something different? Older WM6 devices are dirt cheap, or skip to Android. IIi will be probably stuck at 2003SE for a long time...
How do i get to the alpine fourms... And i dont have any money ATM.
It's right here: HTC Alpine
When you are looking for a specific device on XDA forums, there is a search box in the top right corner marked "find your device..."
Hope that helps
Someone has to know how to use the Bluetooth hack on QTEK 9090? Or if you have any other program similar to it, because I tried in every way and will not x_x.
QTek 9090 Windows Mobile 6.5
Thank you!
I thought all available bluetooth hacking tools are obsolete for couple years now? They only worked in early versions of WM 5 as far as I know. Then they had fixed the security issues.
Well I do not know this, because even with the WM3 old I could not use, using Bluetooth hack any phone that supports Java standard, it works at least QTEK: S, hence I was curious if this is or know how to fix it.
