Speakerphone - Possible to decrease callbutton push time? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to decrease the time nescesary when pushing the green caller button to toggle between speakerphone (handsfree) and normal phone mode?
Can this be done by altering a registry value?

No one?
Or is it simply hard-coded into the phone app?

I am interested in the question too. Doesn't understand why is not a sp button next to the mic. mute button in the menu bar. Grrr

Still no-one has a solution?

???? no solution yet?

Speakerphone Question

Anyone know if it's possible to map the speakerphone to a button? I know that if you hold it down for 2-3 seconds it works but i find the delay is too low. I want to find a way to map it to another button so that it comes on instantly. Any ideas?
unfortunatley its not. Sorry
oh no.
thanks for the response.

Need Hack - Phone default to speakerphone when in landscape

Hi,
It's driving me nuts that when you answer or initiate a phone call on the Universal with the device in landscape mode (with no headset plugged in) that you still have to use the onscreen button to change it to speakerphone mode. There's no other way to use the phone when it's in landscape without using a headset, so why doesn't it default to this behavior?
Is there a registry edit or hack that could accomplish this? If not, what about a hardware keyboard shortcut to toggle the modes? Either way it would be helpful, especially when answering a call while driving with your Uni in a car cradle.
galt: this isn't a solution, but can you do me a favour and test these two out.
If it works, they could potentially be inserted into a background task like VJBigPhone to detect switch to landscape and switch the speakerphone on.
WM5 only for now at least.
VJSpeakerPhoneOFF
VJSpeakerPhoneON
I'm afraid this is untested, since I don't use my Universal as a phone. But who knows!

Sounds great, worth a try! I'll check it out and let you know how it works.

this doesnt work vj
Nothing happens, it just switches to the phone application....without the speakerphone powering up...

PS: I tried it on an XDA2 running wm5
They seem to work fine to toggle the speaker phone on and off. If you can make them status aware that would be awesome! Please do advise any progress towards this.

Holding down the Green call key on the keyboard puts my Exec into speakerphone mode when a call comes in...
Galt: so they work ok to enable the speakerphone? If so, I'll put them into the VJPhoneShortcuts cab.
Silicon's suggestion might be easiest, but for the landscape auto switch:
they can try to enable speakerphone, but only when you're in a call. So it would only work if you changed to landscape while you were in a call. Then it would detect change and switch to speakerphone.
But that seems a little bit of a contrived set of cirumstances. Pressing the green button might be easiest! Alternatively, to program, it would have to monitor if any calls come in while in landscape, and if they do, automatically switch to speakerphone. That's not pretty to program

Glad you got it sorted!
Did VJSpeakerPhoneON/Off work though, just for reference?

Sorry, I probably should have been more clear in my previous post - the on/off apps worked to toggle speakerphone durng a call. Too bad making them orientation aware is such a pain, would be great to have it auto-switch.
I'm away on holiday for a week from Monday. If you remind me when I get back, I'll try to write it.
The problem is though, as I said, it will only go into speakerphone while you're on a call. So unless you change orientation while in a call, it won't do anything, so it will have limited function I guess.
Good to know they did something though!

When using TomTom holding down the GREEN answer button doesn't put it into Speakerphone mode for some reason, even if I answer the call then hold down the button.

In-Call Volume

Hi everybody,
I'm not hoping to get any answers for my question (just like my other questions) but I have an issue with my Touch HD, can anybody help me?
When I'm talking to a person on the phone, pressing one of the volume rocker buttons causes the volume in the "Ring" section of the volume manager to change ... Is this normal? Or my device is faulty?
And ... even if I go to the "System" section and play with the volume rocker buttons, I feel no difference in the sound of the person I'm talking to ... What about this issue? Has anyone else had the same issue? Is there something wrong with my device? Is it something related to Auto Volume settings?
Please ............. please help me.
I have the same problem. Incoming call not loud enough and no way to fix this problem.
hi,
maybe you have changed the dialer skin to the WM-original one? If the HTC-dialer is disabled i've noticed exactly this problem (and also that the Bluetooth symbol isn't shown if BT is activated). The only way to have this working is enabling the HTC-dialer again...

Hi and thank you.
I've installed Inesoft Phone and hence I use it dialer for dialing, but as you also mentioned, when the number is being dialed, the original WM dialer is shown. I really like Inesoft Phone; is there any way to switch to HTC-dialer just for the "dialing" and "In call" screens?

answer in speakerphone

Hello Guys,
I want to know if there's an app out there (or setting in the phone by default) where I can hold down the call key when there is a phone call, and it answers the phone in speakerphone mode.
I searched around and found a "speakerphone" app where it either turns the speakerphone mode "on" or "off" for all calls. I want to do this selectively for each call. Thanks in advance
If you already found your application then all you need is
Topaz Keyboard Controller
What is it ?
It's a solution that allows you to remap ALL keys of our device!

[Solved] Bluetooth headset volume reset to low in every call

I want to mention this problem though i know it has been questioned previously with no answer.
When during a call you raise the bluetooth headset volume then the phone doesnt remember the setting and you have to raise the volume after the next call and again and again.
Very annoying!!Also raising the bt headset volume then the volume control opens and the ringer sound is raised too and i need to lower it after each call!!
Any solution on this?
Thanks!!
solved it
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\ShellOverrides]
"SavedInCallVolume"=dword:FFFFFF
This key seems to save the in call volume.
Set to FFFFFF for maximum in call bt headset volume.SOFT RESET.
Works for me, now in each call the bluetooth in call voice is set to max and i dont have to raise it any more.
When for any reason the volume goes down again, click the volume button in the earphone, just to stimulate it, set your prefferred settings for ring volume etc and then soft reset and the high earphone volume is back.
It is not a complete solution, of course, but it is better than having to raise and low the volumes after each call.
Up to now there is not a better solution to this problem.
If someone knows a better registry setting or tip solution he can post it.
Another problem also is that sometimes the last call button is accidentally pushed in the bluetooth earphone and the last call is activated.
I will try to find the setting that disables last call through bluetooth if there is any.
has anyone else tried this? I have this problem with the t-mous version of the hd2.

if this works you are a life saver I have had this problem for over 3 months now with no answer I will give it a try and answer back!
edit: it works!!!
I've just tried this, and get the following error:
Error : System.FormatException: FormatException at System.Number.ParseUInt32() at System.UInt32.Parse() at RegeditService.RegeditResponse.Send() at httpserv.Services.Service.sendResponse() at RegeditService.RegeditService.Exec() at httpserv.HttpServerWorker.run()
Any ideas?
i entered the value as dec...with total commander you can change in hex also
with this cab that I found here you can restore the original wm sound manager and the HD2 'remembers' the sound volume and keeps it at the highest level even with a bt headset!

I know it has been sometime to post in this thread, but I have found a work around.
Go to the market and download and instal the app 'Volume Locker' - its free. Make sure you do not activate it until you adjust the 'in-call bluetooth volume' level to a comfortable level (i usually call me wife, and then adjust the level while on the phone with her). Then before you end the call, go into the app 'Volume Locker' and activate it. Make sure you uncheck the box 'Allow Apps To Override'.
Now, everytime you call out using your bluetooth headset - it will remember your 'in-call bluetooth volume' setting.
I hope this works!

There is no "in call volume" setting in volume locker. Which box did you check in order to activate the in call volume?
