WM5 Calendar - Active Appointements

Hi,
I am running Windows Mobile 5 (on a HTC P3600).
On the calendar, is there a way of way of displaying "Active Appointements"
as there is with Outlook 2003 which I run on my Desktop PC and sync to?
If there isn't, does this feature exist in Windows Mobile 6?
I think this feature is a must have. Without it how do you have a snapshot
look at all your approaching appointments? It would take an age to keep scrolling the days.
If its in WM6 I will upgrade
Thanks
Also WM5 calendar doesnt look great with reminding, e.g. only 15, 30, 45mins etc.
What if I want to be reminded 7days in advance so I can buy a gift or send a card. Is this feature in WM6? Or do I have to buy another calendar program? And if so, whats the best one. Nice and simple but functional with not too many bells and whistle.
Thanks again!
You really need Pocket Breeze from SBSH, or SpB Diary.
Both are Today plug-ins that have tabs for the views you want.
I use TodayAgenda on my Trinity. It is a great calender program and you can customize it pretty much to any settings you want. It is also free, so that is nice.
Thanks guys.
For the 3 programs you hav mentioned, do all of them all me to set extended reminders for appointments, say a birthday. Or am I restricted to 15, 30, 45min etc.
Also, which one is the best?
Thanks
Also, if I already have reminders set up on my Outlook 2003 calendar on my desktop pc, say 7days before an appointment, will these settings carry over onto the new plugin program when I sync up? Or is that a step too far?
I would prefer a program that reads my desktop Outlook settings.
Does anyone know?
Thanks.
TBH, I don't know about whether Outlook reminders carry across. I would suppose no, because all the add-on programs still use the underlying Pocket Outlook engine/data.
Pocket Breeze and SpB Diary are both availble as trials, so it may be worth playing. PB is more configuarble, but Diary has a slightly better interface.
Both have a Special tab for recurring events like birthdays, and can be set to display any time in advance. I think they can be set to place the special event on the main diary tab at configurable intervals- 1 day, 3 days, 1 week etc, but I don't know about audible reminders.
Thanks Neil.
Am, I also right in thinking that the calendar in WM6 doesn't offer the reminder functionality that I need?

I've just looked in my Calendar and in fact it does do what you want- this is WM6, but I'd be surprised if WM5 wasn't the same
Open Calendar and go to the day you want to set the Event. Select the time, All Day, etc, then set 'Occurs' box to whatever is the appropriate interval.
Now tap Reminder, and set to Remind Me.
Once that is set, you can tap the left box below to set the integar, and the right box to set Minutes, Hours, Days or Weeks.
So, your example of a reminder 7 days before the event is easy. Hope this works in WM5

This feature exists even in WM5. See the second tab of the calendar settings.
Thanks guys. This reminder feature does work. I will check tonight whether the setting from Outlook 2003 come across in the sync (I'm guessing that they will).
Just a shame you cant see a list of all approaching appointments. That's a feature that I *do* want.

Calendar tool

I'm looking for a tool -- free --to see the first N appointments.
Anything similar to the calendar view 'Agenda'.
Nowadays I'm using the TodayAgenda plugin. It works fine but I prefer a tool not intergrated in the Today window.
Sorry for my bad English

I've been looking for (probably) the same thing. Datelens is cool, but I couldn't find an agenda view. I want to see all upcoming appointments in list format, not just the one day at a time and not in a grid.
The best idea I could come up with was to sync with Google Calendar and use Google's mobile calendar page. The major drawback is that it requires internet connection whenever I want to see the appointments.
Still looking....

Can Mobile calendar be synched with iCal

Hi
I have my device syncing with desktop (Lotus Notes) using LapLink PDASync and everything works a treat. I want to add an iCal into my sync list (hosted on my webserver for a Scout group) and have this appearing on my device - this would then sync back to my desktop PC. I have to do this as there is no way of automating a sync between Notes & iCal.
Can anyone advise how (if at all) this can be achieved ? I have had a search and there is a WM5 app that seens to provide this but this doesn't work with WM6.
Thanks
Maxi

HTC Trinity
Schaps ROM 4.30.2008
Radio ROM 1.41.00.11
Have you tried this?
It works with my WM6 trinity.
Thanks - I'll have a look tomorrow but from the description, it would indicate that it can import from a ics file rather than from a PHP created ics webpage. Is that the case ?
Maxi
Just had a look and I don't think this will do what I need for 2 reasons.
1 - it requires a local calendar file (i.e. export) rather than a server based calendar
2 - it replaces all current appointments with the contents of local file. I need it to add to existing appointments, not replace them.
Ah well, I'll keep looking.

Lookig for the same

Auto send sms on birthday.

Hello all,
Need a program which can send a sms by looking into the contacts which have birthdays stored in it.
Found some programs like vbirthday,birhdayz.. but of no use.
Birthdays v 1.2.10 is useless as touchflo has to be disable to view the notification.I want to do it without using outlook to sync with pc and all other stuff .
Just a plain software which searches for birthday at an scheduled time everyday, if found then send an sms wishing happy birthday automatically without user interference.
Any software available like this?May be like a plugin or a full time running application.
My phone specs: HTC touch P3452 with WM6.1.
Thanks in advance
You can check out the development and hacking thread on xda by googling.
try making a new thread there to request and your idea may become a reality.

No "Tasks" app :(

For some reason, Samsung excluded the "Tasks" app that is on the Galaxy S II. I use Outlook tasks that are synched via the Tasks app to my SGS II but I was surprised to see it missing on the GT 7.7
I tried installing it from a Titanium Backup of my GS II but no luck -- perhaps there is a way to do it via a File Manager but I would need to know exactly which files to copy and where they go.
I own a copy of Touchdown for Tablets (from my very brief time with a Xoom last year) but I like the stock Email and Calendar apps from Samsung for Exchange mail/calendar and would like the Sammy Tasks app!
Look forward to someone else figuring this out!

Could not get it set up with my Exchange Account

Personally, I prefer not to be tied down to any specific platform, so I use Remember The Milk.
They have an app for almost any platform - including Android and a plugin for Outlook called MilkSync. I think that might help in your case too
But I have to say - it's not free!
You can use it for free, but with some limitations - one of which is that the MilkSync plugin isn't available.
(I still don't have enough posts to add the external links, but it's easy to find - just search for "Remember The Milk")
^ I'm not a Google Apps kinda guy - I use Exchange for all my cloud data (email, contacts, calendar, tasks). The only thing I've left behind is notes, only because there's really no Exchange notes sync app for Android (again other than Touchdown which I would prefer not to use) so I'm using Evernote there which is fine.
