after deleting a file using file-explorer, the busy-mouse (or what is it) appears. but this one never disappears. after a soft reset the deleted file is gone. why doesn't the busy sign disappear?
See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8294. Basically remove and reinsert your SD card and that should do it.

I go to the comm manager and click the bluetooth switch, it turns gray, then 15 seconds later "Can't turn on Bluetooth" in a popup, in the submenu where it says "Bluetooth must be turned on to use this feature. Turn on Bluetooth" clicking YES gives a "Cannot start the Bluetooth stack."
I'm unable to move/rename/delete btcoreif or btsdk50 or whatever they are. Using standard T-Mobile ROM and so many cabs since the last time I had it on. Love to see if there is a driver reset somewhere or something that would screw with the bluetooth enough to get it to work.
Have you installed TomTom?
I think I may have at one point. I'm unable to delete the files that other people have recommended if TomTom was the problem. Do you think it might be worth a try to put it back in place on my TP2?
you can't delete files in rom, but you can rename...
after renaming the files softreset...
at next boot the renamed files will be recovered from the rom and you will be able to delete the renamed ones, and you will have the original ones from the rom again...

Additionally, if you have accidentally deleted Bttrayce.exe, reinstall that too, and remember to put a lnk file relating to it in the startup folder.

I think I accidentally deleted this one. I think I thought it was related to TomTom.
I'm having trouble renaming the files. Is there a good program to do this with?
Just as a note, I was able to restore my Bluetooth by getting new copies of BTTRAY
Anyone else having this issue?
I have Root Explorer purchased and installed. I am trying to remove/rename the start up/start down sounds. It appears that root explorer is in r/w mode for the folder I am in (Sytem/etc) if I delete the file, it shows "file deleted succesfully". I refresh and it is still there. If I try and copy my new file from the internal sd, it says "file copied succesfully" but it does not show up. I have also tried renaming PowerOn.wav to PowerOn.wav.bak and it takes but I cannot rename it to PowerOn.wav. Then if I verify things with Linda file manager, it shows the file still named PowerOn.wav.bak. How come it's not letting me change the files? Also, hitting the button "Mount R/O" does nothing, it always says the same thing, it never changes to "Mount R/W".
I keep hearing people say it works for them but it's not working for me. I am using stock rooted firmware.
works perfect for me with root explorer... I renamed the original to "orig_PowerOn.wav" and then copy the one I wanted into the folder and named it "PowerOn.wav" (no quotes of course)
Well ****! now it's working. ????
Working well for me. I didn't delete default sounds, i moved them to backup on SD.
This same exact issue happened to me 3 nights ago while changing my shutdown animation. I had to re-boot my phone a few times before Root Explorer worked properly.
I downloaded the Dextermod 1.2 without issue to my sd card, but applying mod didn't not show android market but did erase any apps loaded from appoke market. So I found and tried to download 1.3, but it does not ask to change file name and then says download unsuccessful in the notifications bar. Tap it and get popup, "Cannot download. The content is not supported on this phone." So I try the 1.2 mod again and get the same message. Anyone else with this problem or can help me with a fix?
Downoad it on a computer and put it on your sd, android webkit browser doesnt like zip files.
Rename it Update.zip before running.
Looks like your new like me. I downloaded to sd card. (make sure card is clean. I had a problem with that first-no windows files) Also I downloaded file from my pc to the card in a dongle Then transfered card to the A7. went to file manager. found the file on the card (elocitymodv13) under sdcard\sdcard-disk0 and then press on it until menu came up and hit rename and then renamed it update.zip. finally go through the routine of powering off A7, then hit power key for 2 seconds, let off, and then hit power button again until message comes on screen about entering recovery mode.
Then use the menu key on side of screen to enter recovery menu once the android image shows up. you then need to use search key and back key on side of screen to move up and down the menu. First move highlight down to "Wipe/factory reset" and hit menu button to apply command. (Dexter recommends wiping the slate clean to ensure proper function of his mod.) When that is done, you will see the menu again and move down to "apply sdcard:update.zip" and hit menu buttom to apply command. this will then put the new mod. on the system. The only other thing that will be neccessary is to go back and download the "ElocityMod v1.3 bluetooth fix" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890042 . This update gets applied the same way as above except you dont obviously need to use the wipe/factory reset command again. This will give you bluetooth function back. I hope this is clear enough.
I have been trying since I got the thing to tether it to my windows mobile phone. Good luck with that. I still haven't found an answer. take care.
file name
as stated
download the file to your computer. then rename it to update. Just
update
You don't need to put .zip at end because its already a zip file. Then transfer it on to your sd card. Easiest way is to open your My computer drag and drop to the dir that is sd card on your computer that way it automatically goes into the root of the sd card.
then do the as stated flash update procedure.

Jesus, this just doesn't stop.
The file NEEDS TO BE Update.zip
Please read the writeup I just made this morning describing why people are getting screwed up on this, how to fix it, and why I rag on people like you who put out misinformation.

So my dad accidentally deleted the folders and files in file manager. His tablet works fine, he uses it to browse so doesn't download anything, but I want the files there for peace of mind.
How can I get all the original files back? Dont really want to reset the tablet as it has got his apps and so on which I don't want reinstall. If that's the only option though then I will reset it.
I do have the same tablet myself so if that helps then please let me know.
So he uninstalled the file manager? Or deleted something else?
If it's on yours, you can copy and transfer with no issue.
If he just uninstalled the filemanager or deleted an aspect somehow, copy over directly, or install a different file browser like ES.
File manager is still there but my dad must have gone on it and pressed delete, select all, and delete again. So there are no files in file manager, or any folders, apart from maybe 1 or 2.
It shouldn't affect anything then, but if you like just go into your file manager and copy all the folders, then you can put them in anther folder, which you copy and empty in his filemanager directory. Its simple cut and paste really
Hi, I have a Galaxy note 3 Sm-N9005 european version, I was trying to edit the gpio-keys.kl in order to disable the volume buttons, I tried adding a "#" before the text, with and without a space after it, I tried changing the "volume_up" to "UNKNOWN" , I tried deleting the "Wake_dropped" part of the line... It doesn't matter what I do, It does nothing.
I even deleted the file (I did a backup previously), rebooted the phone, and the keys still worked.
There is a bizarre problem also. In the process, I renamed gpio-keys.kl to gpio-kksks.kl in order to be able to copy the backup since I was having some trouble. Now I have 2 files, the original gpio-keys file and that renamed file, that if I try to delete, it does nothing. If I open it with a text editor it says "no such file or directory" as a text, and If I delete that text, the file weighs 0,00kb, but it still appears on the system folder.
So 2 questions, what do I do to definitely delete that gpio-kksks.kl file? and what do I do in order to dissable the volume keys? I hope someone can help me.
Thanks.
