Hi!
Quick question!
Does the Clock and Calendar Clean-Up function of Wakeup Tweak substitute the ScaryBear utility?
If not, does this two application conflicts are could both be installed on a device?
Thanks!
Hi,
No problem to install both on one device (I did this)... Part of it performs the same operation, but Scary Bear also cleans "script" errors...
Sam
Any precaution not to have them crash?
Thank you for the quick response!
2 quick follow up:
-Any precaution on installation or running not to have them crash the device since they perform partially overlapping functions?
-what function is best from which? I undestand Scary Bear does something more... so it makes sense to use Wakeup Tweak for the clock only and Scarybear for covering everithing else... or does it leaves something out?
Thanks,
Chris
I use both on my XDA II without crashing.
Tend to use Wakeup for the clock and very rarely run the manual clock and calendar cleanup just to check that ScaryBear hasn't missed anything.

Every time i push the "power on" button,
i got this notification error
Cannot execute
\windows\nrdwakeup.exe
what is this file?
Have you any idea why this happens?
thanks
I cant find that file on my JJ, google gives nothing. wierd file... does a soft reset clear it? what apps do you have installed that could relate to power?
Easy to solve:
Download PocketMechanic (www.antontomov.com).
Go to notifications queue module
FIdn the notification that has this path - it will be linked to a wakeup event
delete it
How it got there is another matter - some software that put itself into the queue and didn;t remove itself elegantly. Whilst u r there, remove duplicates (yellow icons) and do this reguarly. Managing your notification queue is ESSENTIAL on the JJ, and anyone who thinks it isn't is missing the plot.

I'm new to the Jasjar and Windows Mobile... can you explain what the notification queue is and why it's important to do this? Or point me to an explaination?
Thanks much,
Brett
@craigiecraigie4
this is in Italian
Bravo !!!!
Grazie !!!
Otimov: Glad it helped.
Brett: Notification queue is/was the primary cause of sh1t ont he XDA - alarm failures, slow downs, can't turn on, popup errors, etc etc.
WM5 SHOUDL have solved it all - but ti hasn;t:
- sddeamon.exe appears as a duplicate entry (within 1 day on a hard-reset JJ) and over a week you'll clock up several of these. Don;t know when the queue is defined as "full", but if u ever reach that you'll not get any new alarms, and loads of trouble b4 then too
- several apps start scriptxxx entries that seem to replicate themselves
- claendar app sticks ALL of ur repeating alarms straight into the queue - birthdays for the next year all entered in advance!
So it goes on. XDA had apps (scarybear etc) that cleaned the queue - BUT these targeted specific issues and DO NOT include ANY of the above. The only way to handle this at present is to manually delete entries using pocket mechanic. MemMaid does NOT enumerate the JJ queue. No other app yet handles this.
So, weekly u should check for :
- sddeamon dup
- \.\\notificatiopn.....script... entries
- any other dups that PM will find 4 u
- anything linked to "on wake up" event that you do not recognise as being something u installed eg eWallet!!! This can cause ur device to sleep and not wake up until u soft-reset - not fatal but inconvenient until u fix.
There will be a LOT more on this issue over time...
Mama mia, what a lot of useful information. But complicated for a new WM5 user.
I had a calendar that did not trigger sound or pop up notifications any more, and after a soft reset I heard all kinds of alarm music, hardly possible to stop.
But I also had E-Wallet installed.......
After a hard reset I also reainstalled E-Wallet as one of the last programs. Do you think I had better wait for an upgrade from them?
Huib
I have recently installed pocketzenphone and magic button as per recomendations here, however I subsequently am having problems with the windows alarm. When I set an alarm it goes off at the specified time but does not bring up the notification screen for me to dismiss it and subsequently itkeeps repeating unless I delete it from the notification queue using pocket mechanic.
Any ideas why this is happening and if I can correct it?
Thanks
I can confirm the same problem with a German T-Mobile MDA Pro.
Do you have the 'Display' option selected in the PZP notification settings for your profile? I think you need to select this as well as 'Sound' and 'Flash' (or whatever you want). The Display option is the bit that gives you the 'Dismiss' button, I think. :?:
this problem occurs without PZP installed here.... but thanks anyway!
Check your notifications queue:
- duplicates of sddaemon
- \.\\NOTIFICATION....SCRIPT... entries
Could b 2 many notifications clogging things up.
Let us know what you find and whether you solve this. Iw ould immediately suspect PZP, but it's interesting that someone else has the problem without PZP. Strike "interesting" - add "worrying"
I have removed PZP and the problem has resolved, I am using the 5.3 version, does anyone know if the 5.5beta version has this problem?
This sounds similar to my problem, i don't have any extra apps installed apart from TomTom, but i get alarms going off that i set previously and have since deleted! How do i stop them??
Hello,
I have just bought a Tytn and about the only function I miss from my old mobile is the stopwatch/countdown function. Does anyone know of any decent freeware that can provide this?
Cheers.
Very simple...but effective:
http://www.deltadevelopment.de/users/christoph/deltaTimer/
I've tried a few countdown program (for my cookings and laundry), but they seems to have the same problem (including the one stated above), all of them are running on a background task basis. Once you have the program switch off (some doesn't even survive a phone off) and the timer stops. Non of the software I've tested actually runs on notification queue (like the way WM5's reminders are based). Hence, I actually use my alarm program as count down timer.
Thanks for the replies.
This program do not wake up my device when it should ring.
Spb Clock is great timer application, but it has the same issue.
I've got a problem with the alarm clock function. Everytime I set a timing for an alarm and disable/change the timing for the alarm, it still continue to ring the following day. For example if I set it at 7.00pm yesterday and change it to 8.00pm today. The alarm will ring both at 7.00pm and 8.00pm. Any idea anyway to solve this problem? It's a minor problem but it does get on my nerves (=
Cheers.
Uncheck the box, and untick each day before you change alarm. OK in upper right. Go back in, make changes, check & tick as usual. This minimizes the problem for me. If you want a freeware to remove duplicates search Scarybear Check Notification.
Universal same story
My Universal had exactly the same problem, with both WM5 and WM6. may be a Windows bug?
In the HTC Universal topic in this forum, there's a lot of info to be found on this issue.

Scarybear's app is not really safe to use on WM6! Beware...it hasn't been updated for years now...
Try using SKtools instead for fixing the duplicate notification-entries...
These are probably causing your problem Steve
I had some alarm issues as well, and running SKtools after a number of reboots has fixed it. WM6 is a lot cleaner already than WM5 and WM2003SE, but sometimes there are duplicate items being generated (seems quite random; have used Kaiser for 2 months without problem appearing)...
Dear All
I own a Blackstone with dutty 3.9 rom, WM6.1
I disabled Manila, I have few applications running.
I have a strange behaviour: the screen which is the active one when I start a phone call, always rotates. I dislike it. I wish it stays on on vertical position.
What I have done?
Installed changeScreen_conf and tried several settings (the prone windows process seems to be called "cprog").
I have added cprog in the "exception" list > no way to remove rotation of the phone screen...
Installed G-Config and tried to remove any application which seems related to rotation in phone: no result.
Installed HD Tweak and put sensitivy for "rotation" at lowest level > no improvements..
What can I do next?
What I am doing wrong here?
Thanks and waiting
Saulo866
Shall I try another rotation application whihc can really influence the behaviour of phone screen?
Thanks and waiting
Saulo
I don't have that ROM, but Gyrator 2 works a charm on my relatively stock HD. Search the +120 replies on the Gyrator 2 thread and it explains how to solve that exact problem. Mind you a playing with Gyrator for a few mins and you'll figure it out yourself.
Thanks a lot S4, I will give a try.
Do you believe i should unitstall first "changeScreen" and any other related rotation application G-config? One of them is embedded in the ROM (G-Config)
Thanks a lot!
Saulo
No need to have duplicate rotation apps as this will only confuse your device, especially if they have different settings. Uninstall one & reset device before installing another
