3 questions for XDA Mini S?

1. How do you make the photo in the contact bigger. When somebody calls the photo is really smaller you catn really make out who it is. (come from P900 and on there you cant adjust image size)
2. How can 'get rid' of the today screen to show just the background image. At the moment, the background is obscured by items on today's menu. Again, the P900 you can creat a empty folder and by selecting it you can view just the background image.
3. How you do make the calender/appointment reminder sound louder and longer. At the moment, it only make a brief and low sound which you hardly hear or long enough to notice it.

1. It appears that you can't without 3rd party software

2. Don't know the answer to this one - unless you set up the 'custom' tab with nothing in it - I tried this but it doesn't show the background image anyway - having said that the 'today' screen only shows one until I change tabs, then it disappears again dohhh!!!
3.Go to :- Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications - Select 'Reminders' in the scroll box - Tick the 'Play Sound' box - Select the loudest/longest sound from the ones available in the adjacent scroll box (or add your own into the \Windows directory, I recorded my Nokia 6600 SMS beeps using the sound recorder, works great)

no ringtone after softreset?!?

I have a problem with my Qtek S200... after a soft reset, it seems to forget that a specific ringtone was set... if I go to phone options, I see my ringtone... but if click OK, it changes to Windows Default... I have to change it back to the correct ringtone...
After a soft reset, if I do not go in phone options to set my ringtone, my phone will not ring (no sound) if it's power save mode...
what can be the problem?!?
I have the 2.3.1 lzsw rom...

Multiple selections

Hi,
How do you guys do a multiple selection in lists such as email list or sms list? It's allways scrolling, impossible to do multiple select!

I have Czech Rom, so maybe it is called otherwise...
In sms list tap right menu (MENU) - Select Messages - Several (maybe another some etc)
then select sms you wants and menu - delete for example

Thanks, I just realized after posting the message that it's possible to scroll the menu and to find the "Select messages" submenu.

but what about the other selections
while i am using the file explorer, i can not make multiple selections. i opened the menubar but there was no thing like selekting aditional files or of such kind pls advise!

You can use the Edit/Select All option but it only selects all the files. I didn't found the way to select only some files.

I select it in Pocket Total Commander, in the botton bar is CTRL button

I have same problem in Excel. I tryed selecting more cells for quick summary some numbers, but not all, and without typeing like =sum(c4:c7)
Has anyone some issue for this?

you need to use the stylus, tap-hold-drag. the hold must be just long enough to select and 'grab' the first cell but not long enough the bring up menu.

notifications

Hi, when I send a text I get a notification, why on earth would I want to know i just sent something? - you'd think i would know....
Anyone know how I can stop this?

Before you send the text select the menu tab at bottom right. Under message options uncheck "Request message delivery notification"

plse , check further...if
you have program /application .." hd tweak " installed on your phone (or any similar tweak program )
check options 2.1 SENT NOTIFICATIONS ... and choose "disabled (advised )..option..... reboot..
otherwise... you have to follow " bigdish " advise every time you send sms/mms....!!!

found it in HD settings tool, thanks everyone for you help.

I still cannot get this to work, its the notification at the top that are the problem, you can dismiss them but there are not necessary and I want to stop them if possible

Right check/try
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\
If “Settings” branch does not exist, create a New Key with name as Settings. Then highlight Settings, and then create a new String Value key with value name as SMSNoSentMsg, with its value data as 1.
After soft resetting the WM device, the SMS Sent notification will be disabled. (hopefully)

Thanks for the tip but I'd like to know the proper way to do this, there must be a setting for this somewhere.

The only settings I know you have tried.
It maybe a rom thing why the settings are not "sticking"
Check your registry settings

this happens to me on 02 network.. i have owned 2 touch hd's one stock rom and also a energy rom and both give Notifications after i text.. I agree with the first post its sooo annoying,, i have tryed Hd tweak and it don't work !!

ringtones disappear and not saved

Hi,
Managed to set MP3 as ringtones using two different methods:
1. Via music player, long press and then 'Set As'
2. Using applications, called shartones and another one called ringtone.
Immediately after I create/save the ringtone I can see it is the list and I can choose it.
I used shartones application, edited an MP3 20 sec, saved as ringtone.
The ringtone was added to the list OK, the file WAS created in \sdcard\media\audio\ringtones\ and the file is still there after the restart, but doesn't appear in the ringtones list anymore...
When i add or move files into this directory it is useless and I can't see them on the list.
As if when I add a ringtone it is added to the database but entries are deleted when the phone starts up again...
After I turn off the phone and on again, all the ringtones are gone and none is in the list, the ringtone which is set is a default one from the original ringtones.
Does anyone have any clue for me where to look for a solution or find what goes wrong?

I've set custom ringtones, notifications and alarms via settings and at least twice the SGS has lost or scrambled them (I'm not sure if it's related to me playing around with alternate launchers).
Anyway, I remember the exact same thing happening on my Nexus One and Eclair, so I think this is a basic Eclair bug rather than SGS specific.
I'm not sure how to replicate the issue, but it definitely can happen.

did uninstall the launcherPro and restarted, I just go through same scenario again and again after each restart...
The files are piled in the ringtones directory but none appears in the ringtones list after restart.
Is there an editor that I can change file attribute, E.g. 'ringtone=Y'? (assuming there is such attribute to be set for a file?! )
Then maybe it will be picked properly to the list.
Guys any idea?
