PocketPC Themes -> Strange - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hey guys,
I got a problem with today screens.
I downloaded some from: http://www.pocketpcthemes.com
But they all look different on my XDA II (Qtek rom 1.60).
The color is different and the quality is not as good as on the site is showed...
It gets stranger even more, when I use activesync remote control and check my today screen on my pc than its the colors are normal....
for example: I downloaded the Linux today screen
As you can see the colors are YELLOW on my XDA II they show up as Orange...
Could someone clear up my mind?
Cheers
Panja

read it and weep :/

Thanks for the reply.
**** @ the XDA II device

yeah 16bit sure dont look as good as it used to :/
maybe it's something a new rom can solve though maybe it have something to do with the "driver" for ati's chip or some other driver related thing if the ati chip only handle the campturing

Yeah I hope a rom update in the future could solve this...
Pity 16bits doesnt work well

yeah it could be a software issues like my 1.66 rom have really bad cleartype really really useless bad cleartype

[Q] Use Rom on a Blue Angel (XDAIII)

Hi there,
i got a question, i am think of, maybe you can tell me the answer
The new Magican, or XDA mini or else how it called has installed the new Verison 5 of MS OS. Why cant we use those in a XDA III / XDA II or elsewhere ? It is Final (MS Products arent final at the start) and we have more Functions then we need.
Is this possible ? You are the man, i dont know much of it,
thanks for the answer ...
msdn
Hiya, are you basically saying that you would like to run WM05 on a Blue Angel? If so, you might like to have a look at the wiki all about that here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
HTH
I installed it 2 times before. But it was very laggy, no light was working ... mostly after the patches ....
I think the Version 5 came out some time before, this should be final, why we got so many problem about bt, wlan, light, sounds and so on?

Htc Audio Booster for Wizard?

I saw it on a post for Herald (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308773&post=3) and tried to install it on my 8125 but it doesn't work. The installation can run through. However no function is in effective.
Does anyone have more info about it? Can we make it work for Wizard?
I SECOND that request how the heck is this suppose to work i have been trying to use it on my 8525?
its an app u run from the programs menu, looks like a small mixing board if im not mistaken.... just helps to kick more life out of the phones speakers....
im not sure what went wrong with yalls installation, works just fine on my mda, thought its only a small improvement

Hi, Greyzter: you are the only one that reported it work on a Wizard. Could you kindly list some details about your device such as hardware version, OS, etc. so we can compare? I have a Cingular 8125 (Wiza100, G3) with NBD 7.1 ROM (WM6).
The installation is fine. Some noticable things include 1) change media manager theme, 2) cannot toggle "equalizer" and 3) no effect when selecting any preset or change the sliding bars.

That is what I am thinking as well. If this is the case, it won't work unless some one can work out correct driver.
The bottom line is: we need an equalizer for playing music but neither WMM nor Htc Media Manager has one built-in. Install another media player would be the only way to go but it is not preferred.
so the bottom line is htc audio booster is not compatible to wizrd or hermes?

If this HTC Audio booster app will work, please PM me and let me know or just respond here if anyone gets this working successfully, and what must be done to make it work.
Thanks.
This program is already made for the herald, wizard and hermes users are trying to get it to work for theirs, here is link to the thread:

WM6 on magician on YouTube (looks fake)

http://www.youtube.com/v/j5568ZTrD5A
Looks fishy, smells fishy...
It's problably a charmer...
*_* sorry for my poor english
Maybe That was a video????
and he just moves his finger????
He Cheating>>>
Hi twolf,
That's possible? WM6 in Magician?
Why do you think that's fake?
I believe its a charmer and not a magician, so I said it was fake only the part that he points out that it IS a magician...
Its my 1st post on xda, but, sadly I have bad news for the ones that thought that it was a magician running wm6.
I've manage to talk with gyurobenjamin (the guy on youtube), and after a while we told me that it is a charmer not a magician, the only thing that we did was updating his rom.
Sadly for the magician users, he thought that qtek s100 was the correct name for his tmobile compact II.
Well, we can only hope that someone, someday, is willing to cook a very slim rom for us.
Regards
as you see on video the device on it is working so slooow. no like as our magicians. also it has windows and OK buttons. magician had calendar and contacts icon on buttons.
its charmer.
No Magician this trick
****, WM6.1 on a Magician would be simply a winner!
what software is this using?

The software used is PointUI (http://pointui.com/)
It is available for WM5/6 AND WM2003
Works great on my Magician.
Just download the Beta, Unzip, copy to device and run.

A slim ROM would be easy to cook. The fact there is a WM6.1 Pro for the HTC Tornado is proof 64MB of ROM is enough.
Unfortunately, it's not the cooking that's a problem, it's the bootloader. And then after that, the kernel is a problem.
I wonder if anything can be used from the Apache? It uses a similar type of bootloader to the Magician. Perhaps someone very skilled in ARM assembly could use parts of the Apache bootloader on the Magician and possibly modify the kernel (nk.exe).

[APP]HTC G-Sensor Calibrator [calibration not saved on some devices]

Here is HTC G-Sensor Calibrator extracted from HTC Raphael, works as well on Diamond.
[EDIT] G-Sensor can't be calibred on Diamond since original driver doesn't consider calibration data... We need to port Raphael driver.
Diamond users, I am preparing a big surprise for you...
Enjoy!
Wow, that's awesome !
Thank You
Doesn't seem to work for me. Installed it and ran the calibration.
However, it seemed that it didn't save the calibration for me?
Using bElite 0.95.
It doen't work for me, orginal duch rom.
Its say calibration completed but the bubbels are still not in the middle.
Unfortunately for me too. On Italian Original ROM 1.37 it returns 'Calibration Completed' but after that the left-right bubble turn back un-aligned.
...
What kind a big surprise Schaps, i'm getting so curious!!!
I had the impression it was working the first time I tried... Am I wrong?
Ok I will investigate to get it fully working, I think it should be possible.
I get the same thing. The Horizontal bubble is spot on but the vertical is a tiny bit out.
When you correct it, it says its calibrated then the Vertical bubble goes back to where it was?
Strange.
Nice find tho.
Im using a standard Stock HTC Rom 1.37.405.1 WWE. Not a cooked Rom.

Great, i love suprises! Thanks schaps for all your hardwork and discoveries. I speak for all the Diamond users on here im sure!
guys..how can we really make sure the phone is flat? i tried with my diamond cover off, but if u touch the edge of the phone, you still can feel actually its not firmly flatten right?
BTW..i tried out the calibration tool as well...after re-enter the calibration tool with 1st calibration done, the reading is out again
For me, it does calibrate my G-Sensor, but if i soft reset the device, it come back to the same setting
Schaps, it works flawless in my ATHENA using the X7510/Diamond ROM
Very impressive
Dear,
I try it on my HTC original 1.37.406.1 French the soft is beautiful but can't calibrabe. Hope it did in a few time because it seems to be usefull.
Thank you.
Sorry but no calibation on my german o2 XDA Diamond with the orginal Rom! But i´m sure you guys will solve the problem!

The Athena has a LIS302DL G-sensor whereas the Diamond (and Raphael?) has a Kionix KXSD9.
This utility runs on my Diamond, but does not calibrate the sensor. Maybe this utility is only intended for a specific chip?
Will try it! Thanks
Hi schaps, since you are looking at the g sensor and the Raphael, is there any chance do you think of it being possible to get VueFlo working on the Diamond, or would it even be worth having? Looking forward to your surprise, I hope it's a rom! Thanks for your hard work.
Ok,
the software works for sure because it changes some registry keys under :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\GSensor
It changes the "calibrateX-Y" keys that were all set at 0 before. I've spot it writes a very strange value for key Calibrate3-2, and I guess that's why the Gsensor driver does set them back to default values. I am trying to understand how it works right now.
EDIT: Noway!! The data in regsitry are always set to default on reset, the strange value could be a negative number in an unsigned rappresentation. The good news is that the calibration work 'til reset.
P.S.: Some of the masters could please be so gentle to advice me on what disassembler to use for ppc software ? I searched this forum but I got confused. Thanks a lot.
Calibration works but Diamond driver doesn't consider calibration data, so there is no way to calibrate Diamond G-sensor using original driver. We need Raphael driver since it will use calibration data stored in registry. I have tried to port this driver to Diamond since it has exactly the same accelerometer hardware, but it doesn't work... It may be because Diamond doesn't have keyboard (G-Sensor should be automatically stopped on Touch Pro when keyboard is out or when device is in low power mode).

VueFLO is part of my surprise
It works on few apps at the moment but I plan to support most of apps in the future (including IE and Opera of course).

Whats about VGA-Software on Touch HD?

Hey guys,
i love the design of the new HTC touch HD. But whats about the mainstream VGA-Software? Will that work on this WVGA-Device?
Greetings,
nick007
Nick, good point, asking myself, too. In the past WinMobile apps scaled well to larger resolutions, so I hope with this step it will be the same.
had the same Q..
so take look here http://www.portegeclub.com/forum/ at te 3rd Party Software
the Toshiba Portege G900 as the same screen res.
some apps will not fit the whole screen ...
but most of famous and valiueable apps will fit to 800x480
I think about all the nice freeware like Total Commander, TCPMP, iContact, and so on ...
I hope, they have no probs with 480*800.
For the Toshiba Portage (WVGA-Screen), there is a software called "WVGAFIX".
Look at http://www.portegeclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=628
If somebody can write this software for the Touch HD, all VGA-Software should be run normaly ...
VGA on HD
Have tried installing stuff on my HD and all works , vito contacts, skype, power sms etc all ok, only problem i had , and its only a small one, was with MEMORY MAP , it works ok,the maps look greart, but the bottom of the screen with the zoom icon etc is a bit corrupted, can still see and use them ok, but not quiet spot on.
TOMTOM 6 and 7 work, check which versions on other threads, and with gsen it works great in landscape too !
Google maps is really fast and again looks great on that big fat screen !!!!
overall im really impressed with the phone and coming from a TYTN II thats no mean feat .
If you are thinking of getting one....Do it !
Yes a great deal of software runs without any problems whatsoever.
For a quite extensive list of HD compatible software check this if you haven't:
