But it does not really do automatic voice call recording...
Or have i trouble with my eyes???
Stefan

Yeah, good program but will only record clearly on speakerphone...Will NOT work on car kit, BT headset, or stereo headset and is barely audible when using XDA in phone mode.

You can record your calls by making a recording note during the phone call. Its not automatic, ie you have to press record your self, but it is directly built in.
Dave

The problem is - that only your self...
You can not record both parties during conversation on the phone or headset. The only solution - use speaker phone while recording - but it is not the way for day-to-day operation.

Is there any software that can record at hardware level? as in not only recording the microphone but also recording any output to the speaker (before getting to the speaker)...

try this
i been using resco audio recorder with much success. i can hear the other party and myself very clearly.

Yes when you record, you cannot hear both parties! But I found a solution for this,,, Dont start recording until you dial the number & start hearing the calling tone. This way both parties' voices will be recorded!!
I have an idea regarding automatic recording,,, if we put a trigger on incoming & outgoing calls then we can invoke a call to the recording program to start recording. Am still reading the SDK,, not yet reached the TAPI section!

When using this recording software apps, does it do hardware level recording or do you still have to use SpeakerPhone to record your call???
Is there any Apps out there that can tap into the hardware and record straight from there, that way you will not need to use the speaker phone and you can use your phone normaly
Any ideas???

Yeah, I have an idea.......READ MY POST ABOVE for a start.
 :!:

Sorry for not being clear enough for you "shawnthecableguy" I was actually refering to Resco Audio Recorder software and not VITO Sound Explorer, Because it has been states clearly that the VITO software still needs to use Speakerphone, but no one has said any thing about Resco Audio Recorder as yet… I though it would be an obvious question to answer for people that read all the posts and not just there own…
No need for the smart a-- replies you’re not helping any one… people like you spoil it for others in the long run…

Fudgebottom, just a friendly word of warning. It is highly illegal in Australia to record telephone conversations without the other parties consent.

Yip thanks "Colonel Klink" Unfortunatly I have heard about that before... LOL
Although I would still like to find an option to have hardware level recording on my XDA II... Just would be a great feature and toy to play around with

VITO Sound Explorer can record both parties without the need of loudspeaker!
Just start recording immedialtly after dialing the number, and not before the dialing!

fudgebottom,
I posted earlier that you can record phone coversations for both parties using Resco Audio Recorder. I should have mentioned that I was using Siemens SX-56.
I just got an imate and tried to record phone conversations with it using Resco Audio Recorder. It does not work.
So something has changed on the XDA II and imate that prevents us from recording using Resco Audio Recorder.
I tried other recording software and I was not able to record both parties, just myself.
Hopefully, there will be a solution soon.

VITO Sound Explorer worked with me very smoothly!
But I have a problem,, how can I play WAV of music files during a call (like Nokia phones) ????
I noticed that when a call is active, Windows mutes all playing sounds!
Does anyone knows a way how to solve this issue ???

Thanks very much for all the replys guys GREAT WORK!!!...
I will give VITO Sound Explorer A go as soon and I get a change to download it and play aroud with it
Cheers once again.

Hey

It does not work.

For those who are using Vito Sound Explorer, what type of device do you have - XDA (O2, T-Mobile, AT&T), XDAII, MDAII or i-mate?
I also could not get it to work with i-mate.

Autorecording every phone conversation

I want to record every telephone call that comes in to my device. Is there a way to "map" the answer button to automatically start recording the call when it is pressed?
Thanks.
NoteM does it. it records both side (caller & the called one) and record it in MP3 format (-> smaller file size).
Do you know if it would work also on PDA2K?
Thanks,
Chris

So far, the only way is to turn on the speakerphone and have some poor-quality recording. Due of OMAP architecture the voicepath accessability is restricted for any software.

Software compatability question

Does the software Resco Audio Recorder work with the HTC Advantage to record both sides of a cell phone conversation? It is advertised to do so on certain Windows Mobile phones.
Thanks
Yes, I have Resco Audio Recorder running on my X7500 (WM6).
I would say that the recording volume is quite low - haven't found a way to alter that so far - but it does record both sides of a conversation.
Have RAC set to record to Storage Card in the 'background' - you just need to remember to check the 'calls' folder every now and again as quite a volme of files builds up in there !
Thank you for posting your results.

BTW, could you please also check if it also records both parties when you use BT headset for calling?

Anyone have a good voice recorder program for the Wizard? Also need advice..

My wife is trying to record meetings on her MDA with Notes, but after 15mins or so, the recording stops and a message saying that internal memory is low. I set it to record to the storage card, the file does save to the storage card, but I believe it's initially recording to the device and then converting to the storage card. She only has about 15Megs of available storage memory left though.
So then I downloaded NoteM (since it was so popular) and was able to make hour long recordings, but the playback kept skipping all through the recording. I couldn't find any settings that would fix that. So, was there something that we missed using NoteM and Notes? Or is there a better program to use for the Wizard (preferrably freeware)? Also, do all programs hold the file on the device before saving to the card? I never noticed this problem on my phone because I have almost 40Megs of storage space available.
I use Resco Audio Recorder all the time to record lecture's. I record straight to the storage card. I also use Cool Edit Pro to touch up the recording. I think Resco Audio Recorder peforms better than Vito Audio Notes, however if you search through Menniesyss' posts you might locate a review of similar products.

Can the Touch HD Record Voice Calls (both callers)?

Hi all,
Is the Touch HD able to Record Voice Calls (i.e. both sides of the Voice Call) and output to the MicroSD card?
If so, what format is the recording saved in (i.e mp3)?
Thanks,
Nailoua
Resco Audio Recorder or Vitto Audio Notes can certainly do the job
efla,
We konw that these two apps can do this, but normally not on htc devices because they are hardware limited to make recording the third party impossible.
Have you tried these two apps on the HTC Touch HD and found them working (both ways)?
In beta version, there was app "in call recording" from HTC (look at http://www.theunwired.net/?item=videoview-hands-on-with-the-htc-touch-hd-windows-mobile-smartphone time 11:50), but in release version there is nothing.
I tried Resco Audio Recorder and it works, but ... it jammed the callers voice during the first seconds after picking up.
There's another (built in) way to record a call, not convenient but working: when established, press home to get the display, then menu, create note, menu again, show record bar, then simply press the red button to record.
I have tried Resco 4.51 and I find the incoming voice very hard to hear on play back, is this normal ?
Is it possbile that one needs the headset to get best results ?
