There is NO free unlock, but there is an unlock if you pay.
If you can wait, the guys here will get something done at some point in the near future

Waiting is not a good thing for now, i sold my MDAIII already, so i am using a motorola V180 in the mean time, i really want my MDA PRO to work as soon as possible, so i think i will go the 15 pounds route and wait for tmobile UK, damn!!!

I could not wait anylonger, so i paid T-mobile UK, it was to take 28 days but it took 3 days, unfortunately, my MDA PRO's screen broke, so i sent it back, the day i sent it back, the Unlock code arrived. RATS!!!!

You already paid for unlocking. So if they exchange your PDA they must either supply it unlocked or give you new code free.

Yeah, they already sent in a request for another unlock code for the new one they are sending to me, for free.

fatosb, the unlock code is device-dependant. One unlock code will work on 1 device only.
Also, have people not searched the forums?

Use unlock code to unlock your T-mobile MDA pro. Get the code from the site Theunlockarena.com ,by providing country, network provider and IMEI number. Unlock it yourself using unlocking instructions.

I was looking for one all over the web. Didn't find any. Dozens of unlock utility available for wizard, hermes, universal and many others but no herald. http://www.imei-check.co.uk/heraldunlock.php can do this, but it's not free, that really sucks

I did it this way and it worked even under vista.

If you have a T-mobile wing, you can buy a unlock code for it on ebay ( cost 34$ ( 4$ cheaper from imei-check and without any knoleged , cable or download software at all )
but it only support T-mobile USA Wing ( HTC Herald speacial made for t-mobile )

I unlocked it with imei.check
BUT!!!!!!!!!!
After flashing a cooked rom - my herald is bricked. I get the "Vender-ID error" even after CID-unlock.

I am new owner of a beautyfull Herald but it is network locked. I don't want to registare to imeicheck (for obvious reason) and I really hope that you will not forget to cook a special rom to SIM Unlock the Herald PDA.

Unlocking works, it looks like they use the same unlocking code used on other htc device, just preformed from there servers. really efficient! It cost me $40 us dollars though. Am i hearing this doesnt Super CID the phone though.

I currently have an unlocked herald I use with t mobile. BUT .. I know for sure if you're a tmobile consistent customer for several months, you can request an unlock code and they will send it 2 you via email within 24 hours. I did that once, told them I was going over seas and plan to use a pre paid sim card. No questions asked, they sent me the code with instructions to unlock my phone. I believe you can also request an unlock with Cingular as well, but read somewhere they will try to give question you to death, but you'll get one. hope this helps.

I believe this is only for unlocking the SIM, but unlocking the CID is something very different!

to falsh roms with different languages.
WWE = WorldWideEnglish
GER = german rom
etc. you can only flash the rom from your country.
When you have it cid-unlocked you can flash every rom.

thats the cheapest so far ... unless you ask your carrier for the sim unlock code. I know in US your carrier has to give it to you after 3 months of service don't know about UK regulations.

Only here they are alllowed to charge you for it, 20 pounds for orange unlock code but thats not even posssible as the phone is only a month old in the UK I think

aah that sucks ... sorry .. That was a suggestion for op as he didn't want to pay the 50 (wait it out another 2 months ).

UK phone providers Orange - will ask for the full value of the contract to unlock it - ie if you have 12 months left at £30 then £360 for the code + unlock fee £20 quidish.
Not sure about T-Mo - but i believe at the end of the contract they will give it for free, but dont say your going to another network, as they'll charge you for the privilidge.
Been there done that... htccode.com appear to be the cheapest at present at £15.
Reviews of service appear to be very positive!

Found this Forum whilst looking for quick way to unlock HTC Touch HD - follwed this recommendation and it's unlocked From sending Paypal payment to getting code took about 5 mins - made contact via MSN and they are really good - if anyone is going to do this, saves asking them the same question as I did - when you enter the unlock code it'll say it's accepted but will then say it's locked again - enter the code once more - that'll do it

The problem is i cannot unlock it i have tried (unlock-HTC.com0 and (htccode.com) both of them gave me the same code for my phone and it didnt work i have attempted it 7 times now and my phone has a long time out in order to try again please is anything i am doing wrong or do i have install something before inserting a sim locked card i am in the process with htccode to see if they can do anything for me or is it a case that the unlocking code isnt available i prepared to pay a donation or what ever it is to get it unlocked thanks.

What's funny, I bought my HD at Bouygues Telecom in Paris. They claimed it's locked to them. Once I came to the hotel and inserted my SIM card - it worked with no problems. They lied! Actually, I think the same thing was at Fnac. They had two versions of the phone - locked to one of French providers for EUR 589 and unlocked for EUR 699. I guess it was the same phone. I bought my one for 549, flashed to WWE and it works like a charm!

i'm assuming it was unlocked before?
Have you tried using the same unlock code you used to unlock it?
or if you bought it unlocked i'd say email/call dell.

If you were hsing a rebel sim to unlock thats more than likely the reason.

If your locked to O2 like I was then fill in their online support form and ask for the unlock code while giving them your Imei. If they come back to you saying no they can't, just reply insisting they can as they did it for others as reported on Modaco forum. It took me 5 reply emails before they caved in and gave it to me

one of whome said that as they were an 'exclusive supplier' they couldn't help i emailed them back saying that they were not as tesco, orange and vodafone all sell it.

you have to downgrade to v2.1 or v1.6 and use v1.2 rebel simcard II
or can use postal unlocking service

its possible to extract the codes out of the Streak from home also now with software even you cant get the codes and dont want to downgrade to 2.1 or 1.6 to use rebel sim II.

I have one T-Mobile version 8G dell venue pro for 3 weeks (from ebay), but need unlock code to use it in other network. I tried to ask code from dell unlock request code group, but they said cannot provide it since it's a retail version. So I placed order from one ebay seller and then another, but both couldn't get code for me. Then I submitted order in unlockallcellular.com, but they said so after 2 days.
Can anyone help me out of this problem? Where can buy an unlock code by searching in direct DB or cauculating method or software method LIKE fastgsm.com(they said they can only cauculate Samsung Focus). Thank you sooooooo much.

If dell doesn´t provide the unlock key I think you need to take a contract with T-mobile.
Or wait 2 days.

yes, I need carrier unlock. I've sent mail to dell. They said it's a retail item, cannot give code.

you might have to call them then... I still havent recieved a response, and meanwhile I already travelled to the UK, so I am phoneless. Cheapest cheap phone here is 20pounds, but Virgin Mobile gave me a free SIM card to try out so I think I will have a friend in the States call them and give em my info so I can get this unlocked promptly. Their mobile support number that you should call would be 1-800-308-3355

im having the exact same problem here. even worse, i figured getting the unlock code would be pretty easy so i swapper out the 8gb card for a 32gb sd card which means the warranty us no good anymore and i cant send it back to the ebayer i bought it from.
i got in touch with dell anyway, same thing, its a retail device to contact tmobile.
but its not possible at the moment because i need to know the phone number of the sim card that came with it to sign up to the tmobile website, and i cant find out the number.
so does anybody have an email address for tmobile i could use it would be a great help?

Successfully unlocked my phone
Communicated with Shallow Blue to obtain unlock code for my windows phone and was pleased with the service. Quick and accurate. One code worked first time for a fair fee.
