YES YOU CAN! xda executive corporate mood
Yes you can avoid the o2 interface. Do a hard rest and when the phone starts chose the corporate mood and the password is 0506.
This will even give you a faster XDA Executvive.
All the best and enjoy
I just got an exec and was wondering whether to get rid of all the O2 stuff. If you do a corporate install, what settings do you have to enter manually to be able to get web access over gprs/3g? Also i noticed another thread that says you can delete the o2active directory and do a soft reset to get rid of the O2 stuff. Does this give a decent speed increase like the corporate install? What is the difference between doing a corporate install and just deleting the active stuff?
Thanks for any replies!

Hello,
Is this different then going to 'programs - install type - corporate'? and not entering a password, but still using corporate (=
if so, how.
Thanks
thank you it works
What advantage does the corporate install have over just choosing basic ?

I havent tried your method but I think they are different in that your method ends up with still the o2 blue interface and shortcuts all appering on your home and this is what slows your XDA.
Whereas in the hard reset corporate install you end up with the original windows home page and some speed from the XDA Exe.
Hope this helps
XDA EXE CORPORATE INSTALL SET UP GUIDE AND PROS
Well I may not have all the answers to the advantages of the corporate installbut the main one is SPEED and the remove of the clutter from O2.
By the way am not very good with the XDA am just a newbabie who is trying to find answers on the web and forums on how to get the best from me XDA Exe which I just LOVE. Have just changed from two years of using the Motorala A925 AND A1000. was pissed off that THREE network never got this most powerful phone in the word according to STUFF MAGAZINE when every network hard it. How could they offer me another A1000 for the second year on renewing the contract. Enough of 3 well am trying to make the best of this phone now.
Here is how someone talKs about this from a different forum and I hope I can get in the link in too
# re: O2 XDA Exec
Lo Here XDA EXEC brothers,
Want to make it faster? Do as the dude says it above, change to Corporate Install.... Be warned every setting, data, files, events, contacts blah-blah will be gone... but you can re-set the lot in CORPORATE INSTALL instead of O2 ACTIVE install.
So this is How you do it! : Do a hard reset (press and hold the two buttons on the top row that have horizontal lines on, meanwhile poking the soft reset button on the back.
OK now it does the whole "windows installing" bit, man I hat microsoft, anyways... so then you have to do the calibrating of the screen and eventually choose between install types... pick CORPORATE INSTALL (passcode: 0506) then let the thing install itself to its most pure and basic self....
Alright now you have to set the connection back up. 3G and phoning takes care of itself automatically, but to connect to the internet you need to add a new connection (in settings bit):
the o2 Details for that is
connection name: o2 web
access point: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: faster
pw: password
CLICK Advanced tab, go to servers, pick the second bullet point and set the servers address as follows
DNS: 193.113.200.200
AltDNS:193.113.200.201
now if you have had wireless set up go to your wireless settings and do that according to your ISP provider for the wireless, not rocketscience at all.
For MMS settings
server O2UK
193.113.200.195
port 9201
server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
And there you have it, now you got a superfast, much leaner much more customisable and efficient XDA EXEC.... damn I'm good!
adios
ps: i hate microsoft anything, but this little gadget KICKS ASS!!!!!!

Hello all,
How do I disable the password lock from my 8125? I initially set it up when I was synching with my laptop for Exchange email, but now I am using xpress mail and don't want the password lock.
I hope you know the password, if yes then follow:
Start -> Settings -> Password -> (it would ask you the password if it is already set) tab the password -> untick the "prompt if device unused".
Let me know, GoodLuck
Sidd
Sidd,
Thank you. The "Prompt if deviced unused" is greyed out. I'm unable to untick this setting.
But is it Greyed-out with the tickmark ON or OFF??
WIth the tickmark "ON". The long short of this story is that I initially synched up my Exchange email using ActiveSynch. Our corporate policy required this password to be setup. We do not have Exchange SP2, so I couldn't get push email, however I ended up using xpress mail instead to get the push functionality. Now I want to get rid of having to input a password on my device.
Also note that "Password" has been renamed to "Lock" in AKU2 as is also pointed out in the article on all name changes at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1276&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
Its seems like either you have to connect/sync with the same email software on which the password had been setup and find the way to remove the password whilst sync,,, OR ,,, the 2nd option is to just Hard Reset the device,,, BUT ,,, Please dont forget to take your backup before Reseting the device. (I can also help you if you want to backup your TXT messages if u want to!)
I am personally using Alpine(XDA-IIi) and I am Hard-Reseting my device every 4-5 months.
Let me know.

N1 VPN remember password option - NOT AVAIVABLE
Any way to get around it?
I have to enter VPN password every time when I need to reconnect,
and there is no option to save password.
if you go to code google, Issue 4369, that issue is discussed, and it's hopeless!
any other way? anything at all?
Thank you.
really?! no solution?
Its more than likely a security measure.
If your phone ever got stolen, they would be able to VPN into your work network as well.
so there is no way? I mean editing source code? is it really hard?
no one else cares?
you should be able to set a master password that you have to enter whenever using a VPN, therefore you can store all the complex passwords on the N1 and just enter one master password when you need to connect.
major pain in the ass my vpn password is long.. need to have an option to save..
I'm syncing my Evo with my company's Exchange server and they have a policy that requires an alphanumeric password to secure the device.
My question is if there is a mod/hack/app that will allow me to use the Android pattern matching security policy instead of the alphanumeric policy.
I've tried No Lock, but I still want some security on the device, I just don't want to enter a password each time and would much much rather be able to pattern match. In addition, No Lock continues to give my phone fits after some time in the 'unlocked' state.
I've tried searching for this question, but I wasn't able to find much.
Thank you
Try speaking with your IT dept. and see if they will add your account as an exception to the authentication policy. If they do, then you can just use the native pattern unlock in security settings.
I used "Lockpicker" from Market. There are instructions on the info page. It says first enable the pattern lock, then add your exchange account, then add the password. then when you reboot or unlock you should still have the pattern available. I haven't tried it but I do use it and find it a great app and the developer returns emails asap.
I didnt see your thread before. but the directions given by ifly are spot on.

When I'm in the cafe or hotel, the network will be open when i connect it, asks me to enter a user name and password...
Of course, is to get the user name and password from the Director for a fee (In exchange for a sum of money)
How do I connect to the network??????
It would need to be done over http through SSL. Brute force will be rate limited. By the time you crack the encryption they will have already changed the password. Good luck.
