Hi,
I have an SPV M1000 which has started to experience boot up problems. The device now sticks at the initial boot up screen where it shows the ROM versions.
Anyone got any ideas?
Is it worth me uploading a new ROM to the device via SD, if so where do I get one from?
Thanks.
Hi,
I would suggest asking over at www.modaco.com the board there is specifically for SPV's and the members were very helpful when I had one
Thanks, i'll give them a try

hi,
i have just downloaded the radio stack from O2 v4.21. I have tried to upgrade through active sync 3.71 it upgraded ok, but when i went to restart the XDA it gets stuck on the boot screen. the one that says test not for resale... and at the bottom right hand corner its says A.30.07 and then locks up.
normally before i tried to upgrade it said A.30.07 the underneath it said 4.20...
anybody know what i need to do to correct it?? i have looked through loads of forum posts and now i'am really confused???
Thanks alot
Zetex :?:
a bit of further info my Bootloader on my xda1 is 5.22
I'am also willing to pay for help i recieve to get my xda up and running again, because without it i really i'am stuck. I don't just use it as i gadget i use for everyday work/pleasure...
Thanks alot
Zetex
can anybody help me????
Hi,
No experts or semi-experts seem to be offering any help. I consider myself a fairly experienced novice so I am not sure how useful (or safe) my advice is. Take care! But here are my observations..........
You say the upgrade went OK? Does this mean you got as far as the message Flash Complete! Press OK to restart your device?
If so, this is encouraging as most of the problems I've located on this forum stopped part way through the upgrade (many at 1%).
Did you follow the instructions accompanying the upgrade to the letter? (ie. kill all running programs, switch off phone etc.)
The 4.21 upgrade is for the PW10A1 model not the PW10B1 (check the back of your xda's case to find out). Not sure how you deal with this one if yours is a PW10B1.
Can you enter bootloader mode? (soft reset with the stylus while holding the power button). If so, this is also good news. Someone with more experience than me could probably tell you what to do next. (Possibly flash a new ROM using the SD card method. Although you upgraded the Radio Stack it may have corrupted or upset your Radio Unit/'ROM'. If you decide to do this, I suggest something based on the v3.17 such as the XDA developers special edition ROM ..... you can always upgrade to WM2003 again later.).
Good Luck!

cranny,
Thanks alot for the reply m8, I did try what you have suggested by reloading the 3.17 o2 rom via sd card and now it won't even switch on anymore.
not to worry its gone off to the xda repaire center in Norwich today for repair under warranty.
Thanks for the reply anyway m8

I have a Qtek 9100 that worked great as a Vodaphone product and then great with a Virgin SIM. With my new Orange SIM I can make and receive calls but keep getting the error message ""The phone is not ready. Wait 15 seconds and try again" when I try and access the Phone settings. I also notice that I cannot send or receive text messages.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
You might wanna either flash the device with the ORANGE ROM or at least install the ORANGE EXTENDED ROM. Seams like the Orange network requires special settings ...
Did you ever get this working? I have exactly the same issue and not working so far!
Just to update
tried official 02 roms in Windows Mobile 5
-- I can use GPRS / Phone.
However I can't go into Settings as says Phone is not ready, wait 15 seoncds and try again. However if I remove orange sim and put in Virgin one then it is fine.
I have updated to newer radio 2.40.11 and such but still does not work.
Does anyone have any ideas? Orange wants me to buy a M3100 as that will be compatible!
My problem fixed
Folks
I followed the following instructions and it sorted me completely - this proved a great posting for me but obviously I can't be sure you have exactly the same problem or same type of Qtek 9100:

Post 5 shows the 'step-by-step' guide.
I hope this helps.
Hi thanks for the reply.
I have a 02 Mini S G3 model so I'm not sure if I can flash a G4 radio rom over it?
I have tried the O2 Radio 2.07, T-mobile 2.19 and 2.40 radio for G3 so far without any solution.
Just got back from work, looked through the post and spent some time researching to make sure Wizard_love was safe (better safe than sorry!) and flashed it. It worked AOK so a big thank you jt142.
Hi guys...I know there have been numerous reports of this kind, but I can't seem to find the answer.
I don't have this problem myself, but another person does and I thought I'd ask Olipro and the rest of the community for some help and clarification. Also hoping this answer can help anyone else who has this issue.
OK, Someone tried to flash WM6 before using the Unlocker. I know...don't say it. Anyway they now have the black screen of death and the tri-coloured bootloader screen, but are still unable to flash WM6 and obviously cannot use the unlocker until they have an O/S to sync with.
Has anybody encountered this and received incorrect vendor ID and found a way out of this scenario? They have an Austrian T-Mobile Ameo UK, so they can't even use the T-Mob 005 ROM for the UK Ameo (which doesn't require the unlocking of ones device).
Any clues peeps? It would really help a fellow owner out. Cheers for any input. Remember even if you said it before and don't want to repeat yourself again, please just cpoy & paste the answer here so it can act as part of the wiki for future incidents of this nature.
Thanks friends.
I got part of the experience. So I will tell what happen to mine AMEO.
due to some software conflict, my WM6 OS got kill. I was stuck in the tri-colour screen as well.
Since my unit was unlocked before, so refreshing (any) ROM solved my problem. (refreshing the ROM doesn't required activesyn running on yr PPC.)
If can't reflash yr ROM due to vendor_id error, I think the best way is to get the origin WM5 ROM (read it out from another same model) and flash it back.
after getting yr origin OS, then u can proceed unlocker and WM6 upgrade.
Hope this can help.

Thanks Royalmail. I'll pass it on.
I have just taken delivery of the TYTN ii and it was locked to Orange, I used Imei Checker and had the lock removed as I am on the 3 network and all is fine.
However can someone please do an idiots guide list on how to remove the Orange Rom as it is awful - Orange wreck their phones by installing their own Rom.
I have experience of flashing Nokia phones with no problem so am not a novice.
I have spent days reading the posts on here and still cannot get Hard Spl installed...
I hope someone can help - also what is best rom available at the moment....
I see some people state that you cannot update the Orange rom!!! is this correct???
The tytn ii is running WM6 and my pc is running vista.
So please an idiots guide from start to finish for the orange rom removal would be great.......

u need to go to kaiser development forum. There are some valuable infos.
Hello all, I have an M5000 which had the dreaded no GSM which after searching on this site for a possible fix with a ROM upgade I finally turned it into a brick.
I bought a O2 XDA EXEC last night on Ebay with a broken screen which I will use the M5000 screen to replace the broken one.
I am new to this site and new to this upgrading stuff which I really want to get into.
If anyone can tell me in a basic way I can upgrade my bootloader mode and install WM6 and how to flash the ROM without turning another uni into a brick!
Thanks in advance.
