New Targus Universal Wireless Keyboard (PA87OE) & XDA II - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi Folks,
I have just waited weeks and weeks to get a delivery of the updated Targus Universal Wireless/IR Keyboard (part no. PA87OE) and much to my dismay I can't find a driver that makes it work with my XDA II.
The best that the keyboard does is perform a random soft reset!
Does anyone know of a driver that works with the new or indeed the old version of the Targus IR keyboard?
I am pretty sure that there are people on here that have managed to get these keyboards working but am I right in thinking that there is more to it than installing the correct driver from Targus?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Steve.

Folks,
I have just got the above Targus keyboard to work with my XDA II with the help of:

works ipaq keyboard foldable with Xda/Qtek

Has anybody already tried this ?
the connectors look identical
i seem to recall that the connector is the same but the wiring is different
though you may want to ask this question in stocking up for it
forum since it fit that cat and if you do a search in that forum you will most likely find that somebody have asked this type of question before
You need to use a converter that used to be sold by DataAnywhere. That's what I'm using right now. The converter inverts the dataport. If you tried connecting the XDA directly to the keyboard, the only way it would fit is backwards.
Rene.
What is the url for dataanywhere? I am keen to try this option. What about the drivers?

ipaq keyboard foldable with XdaII/Qtek 2020
I modified the connector of iPAQ foldable keyboard but it doesn't work. It seems to me that is a driver problem. Any suggestion to make an iPAQ foldable keyboard working with Qtek 2020?
Thanks
The Ipaq stowaway drivers should be enough. I\'ll look up DataAnywhere's URL.
The Palm Wireless IR Keyboard works almost perfectly. Only issue is some of the shortcut keys are labled with Palm symbols and does not match what they really launch.
I can even get to the national Danish characters with a few keypresses.
I can touch type quite fast on this keyboard.
If you are in the US, get the ThinkOutside Stowaway Wireless Keyboard. It's the same keyboard with both Palm and PPC functionss.

Butchered keyboard

I have done very little research on my question. Looking at the pinouts on an XDA, and the pinouts on a mouse, would it be possible to butchera keyboard or create an adapter for a PS2 or USB keyboard to work with an MDA/XDA I??? II???? Let me know if anyone has tried.
I know someone else had butchered a mouse to work; I'm going to look for that thread now. ALSO, do you need a driver for something like that?
The developers successfully adapted an ipaq keyboard to work with xda, if you want to use a full size keyboard there is a cheap irda adaptor that allows this. Keyboards for pda's have dropped in price dramatically, check out www.ebay.co.uk and type xda or xda keyboard. There is a link for the full size keyboard adaptor in my earlier posts. Regards the driver, the special edition rom contains one that works fine for many keyboards including my genuine xda keyboard, only proble is that it activates after every reset so has to be disabled for wired gps function as it grabs com 1.
Thanks, cruisin-thru!!!

mini bt keyboard for a500

I'd actually prefer to get a mini keyboard. I don't plan on using this as a primary pc, but when the need is there I'd like to have a keyboard that's extremely portable. The Targus BT keyboard was promising, but it's just too big.
I'm wondering if anyone's tried this keyboard:

it's a bit on the bigger side of what I'm looking for but seems like a good comprimise
**edit**
I ordered the keyboard, I'll update the thread when I get it.
Has anyone seen this yet?

Based on your experience and I post I grabbed one of those keyboards today. It works a treat. It also pairs happily with my Nexus 1 running Cyanogen 6 which was an unexpected bonus.
I have one..
I have one and tested. Working well.directly connection. Not need driver and software.
