HTC HERMES use in India?

I have a Hermes and am on AT&T/Cingular mobile in New York and I love my phone. I have a friend in India who would like to buy one and wants to know if it will work in his country. I told him that I thought it would, since it is quad-band.
Does anyone have experience using the Hermes in India. Please let me know. Thanks in advance for any information you have to share.
-Austin
Works just fine in India. Employees from my company go there and use their 8525s all the time.
HTC Hermes in Bangladesh
Works great in Bangladesh as well. Relying on it for my sole internet access from the jungle via Grameen EDGE service (GSM 900/1800).

Tom Tom 7 Problems Map is jerky ?

Hi peeps
Just a quick one to see if anyone else has had this problem
My athena is running the standard Windows Mobile 6 HTC Rom ( not moded in any way yet )
Iam running Tom Tom v 7.450.9028 with the United Kingdom And Republic of Ireland Map V720_1802 which runs nice and smooothly
I have a couple of Holidays approaching one to France and the second to the USA so have decided to get the Western And Centeral Europe V725_1906 and the North America V 725_1906 maps.
I have tried the Western And Centeral Europe V725_1906 map today as it covers the UK aswel and the map is very jerky and doesnt run as smooth as when i switch back to United Kingdom And Republic of Ireland Map V720_1802.
Point is I dont want to fly all the way across the pond and find the North America V 725_1906 map is jerky aswel.
Anyone got any ideas ?
All the maps are on the microdrive
Cheers ,
You're entering muddy waters here. How many people are going to admit to having v7 when it isn't legally available?

Put the maps on the memory card and try again. This might help

Ahh !
If you log into Tom Tom .com as long as you are in the USA you can purchase TomTom 7 maps
Maybe so, but how do you purchase the actual program without buying a stand-alone unit or an HTC Shift (I think)?

Travelling to Europe with a D821 Nexus

Hello folks,
I'm travelling to Europe next year and I'm hoping to use my D821 (international version, LTE bands check fine) in Paris, Amsterdam and London.
Is there a provider that sells sim cards that work in these cities? I found EE works in London and Paris (not Amsterdam), but maybe there's a better option. I need 4G mostly (text and calls not that much).
Thanks in advance,
Marco

Hi there! I live in the Netherlands and as far as I know can you use Vodafone in the Netherlands, as well as in the UK and France. Just keep in mind that you have to pay the roaming costs for as far as I know.
Vodafone offers 4G in all those countries since summer '14 according to an article they released.
I hope this information is useful for you.

You could try to obtain a NCK for your phone, as far as I know some online services provide these (for a fee)

According to the phones user manual you will need to use a sim csrd from the region its bought at for some hours then you can use any sim card
Perhaps not, if it works the same way as in Europe.

I don't know.
You would need to place a 5 minute call in one of the supported regions (with a sim that supports one of those regions too).
Alternatively, if you root it, you can try an app called RegionLock Away v1.3 (download on second post) - Please note that this app was developed and tested on the Note 3 and although it has been known to work on other Samsung devices, it has not been tested on the S7 Edge.
I believe the supported regions are:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Croatia, Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia and Vatican City
Do anyone faced this issue before?

Android Auto and OnePlus 5

When I try to install Android Auto App on my phone, I can see a message: "This app is incompatible with all of your devices."
Why and how to go over this?

And you have which device, rom/version? It's working flawlessly on OxygenOS op5 nougat/Oreo/pie, never had issues with it
OP5 with OxygenOS 9.0.3 (all stock).
On phone, Google Play doesn't show the Android Auto App. If I try on a desktop (connected with the same Google account), then I saw "This app is incompatible with all of your devices."
Is maybe Android Auto limited in some countries?
Update: after some browsing, I have found that I'm not alone (and not only on OnePlus).
Android Auto is currently available in the following countries
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia
Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala
France, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama
Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore
South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan
United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela
Tnx. I saw that list of countries on Google's site yesterday. But I still can't understand why I get the same error when I use German VPN. Maybe Google also check phone's current location?
Maybe I should try to find an APK, but now it is too late. I returned rental car
Absolutely Google Play uses GPS to determine where you are. Might want to try switching of the location permission for Google Play and then try your VPN
I also tried this, but it was not enough.
