Driver for Logitech BT keyboard - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I'd like to buy the Logitech diNovo bluetooth keyboard+mouse.
But I'd like to use it also with my MDA2.
Any experience, advice, tip?

I have a diNovo keyboard. So far I have not been able to get it to talk to my imate. I do not think a driver is available.

I've seen a beta version of driver for PalmOS.... That's why I'm still hoping...

i dont think there's an avaiable widcomm stack for PPC devices that support HID(for now)

Same tale here, I can't the DeNuovo to talk to the Xda II at all, not even ASync. Anyone managed to get AS to work?

HID Profile
Hi,
What do you need to develop a HID profile "driver" for Pocket PC?
Can anyone give me pointers to SDKs, DOCs, ... ?
Bye,
PHPat

 I have the dinovo desktop for a long time. Even with old XDA2 rom I was sync through bluetooth beautifully without any problem.
You need to install the Tobais bluetooth tool first. with the new updated rom, I can also sync it with the add on bluetooth tool.
But then I had serious problem with latest bluetooth tool, so I uninstalled it, but I can still active sync with my pc through the dinovo Bluetooth.
Did you follow the instruction from o2 site? I followed that and it works flowlessly.
When you pair with pc successfully, you should see the activesync from ppc have the tab "connect to MYCP via bluetooth"
If not, u've done something wrong :?
Since my HD f__ked up completely, I cannot really tell you the exact step. But i remembering enable two com ports in the setting. Logitech only have one com enabled.

How to activesync with bluetooth?

I have a Sony Vaio which has built in bluetooth. When I pair the XDA2 with it, it can not see any serial profile on the XDA2. Also the BT implementation of Microsoft on the XDA2 does not do much as well. The pairing of the machines from XDA2 gives you the message that it's ready for activesync via bluetooth but that's BS. When you choose activesync via bluetooth from the XDA2, my VAIO shows an instant try of serial connection between the devices but it does not stay there.
The bluetooth implementation on the VAIO is also Microsoft BT stack and it sees the XDA2 as a DUN device, which installs a modem at port 10 to use the XDA2 as a modem. So some part of this works, except the activesync.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I have contacted NAVMAN GPS in Europe and they have confirmed that they just sent an XDA2 to New Zealand to their developers to find a solution for the strange pairing problem (NAVMAN GPS only accepts "NAVMAN" as the pairing PIN but you can only enter numbers at the XDA2 pairing software)
I have exactly the same problem as you with my Sony VAIO Z1 SP laptop. I have posted a separate thread but so far no-one has been able to get my bluetooth activesync working. Have you had any luck yet?
No not yet, I've downloaded sony's updates for bluetooth from www.vaio-link.com, but it didn't help the problem. I'll keep on working on this, let me know if you have a solution.
I had a similar problem with a Tosh laptop, but after upgrading to the latest stack was okay. Although I still couldnt configure from the tosh laptop (no serial port recognised), when following the instructions within the bluetooth HOWTO on the o2 website it worked fine
http://www.myxda.com/XdaII/serviceandsupport/template/XdaIIHowToUse.vm
Seems to work okay to other people I've suggested it to as well who were having trouble

Uninstall Bluespace NE and use a Widcomm-BT Stack instead. Works fine with my MDA II (Towa Pocket Bluetooth Tools installed) and Sony Vaio PCG-Z1RSP.
You have to edit btwusb.inf before installing the Widcomm-Stack:
[WIDCOMM]
%SONYZ1.DeviceDesc%=BTWUSB, USB\VID_044e&PID_3003 ; SONY VAIO VID&PID
[strings]
SONYZ1.DeviceDesc="Sony VAIO Z1 Bluetooth Device"
How can you download the WidComm stack. Can this stack also be used on a Toshiba Satelite Pro m10. i have troubles with the toshiba bluetooth stack..

Should work if the internal transceiver is also manufactured by Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR).
For instructions on installing different versions of the WidComm BT-stack,[includig the Dell one] have a look at this forum
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=231
You can also look at this page for a step by step guide (not verified - "never touch a running system"):
http://www.jonscaife.com/
I had problems using activesync via bluetooth with a cheap class 1 dongle (Microtune I think) but managed to get it working by installing the Pocket Bluetooth stuff from the links in other threads (german internet site) and by following the instructions at http://www.jonscaife.com/ and installing the Widcomm stack linked from there (1.4.something I think) rather than the one that came with my dongle (1.3.2.7 I think).
Everything now works a treat - thanks Slartibartfass for the link - saved my hair from being pulled out.

EZ Solution
I just found an easy solution for u guys who using Toshiba Bluetooth Stack ...
U guys no need to remove anything ...
All u need to do is verify the COM port of ur bluetooth ...
1. Go to the “Bluetooth Local COM” Applet in your Control Panel
2.Open “Bluetooth Local COM” applet where you will see a list of Ports
3. The Corerct port you need to use is
“COM7 Toshiba BT Port (COM7) LocalCOM-Server[SerialPort(TOSHIBA LocalCOM)]
and not “COM6 Toshiba BT Port (COM6) LocalCOM-Client”
From this guy here ... << http://thinkabdul.com/2006/10/12/tu...c-via-bluetooth-with-toshiba-bluetooth-stack/ >> TQ sir ...
Then ... u guys need to use ur REGEDIT to find this ...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services
Notice there is SerialPort ?? yes ... JUST CHANGE THE string 'Bluetooth' to COM7 ...
After this just pair ur wat ever PDA u've got & thats it ... u got the ACTIVESYNC in the advance option of the services available ...
Hope u guys enjoy !!!

Can i use my Wizard as a BT audio device for another phone?

Hi, i'm looking for a way to connect my Nokia 6230 to my Wizard so that the Wizard is recognized by the Nokia as headset. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I've been looking at the widcom/broadcom stack but i couldn't get it to work yet. Insufficient memory error.
Does anyone know if this is somehow possible?
I dont think this works. However I have done the reverse using my Laptop. I used my laptop to take calls and answer them, while my PDA is in the other room! w00t
And do you think it would be possible if we get the broadcom/widcom stack running on the Wizard?
No. I dont think that has the correct services/profiles. And is it possible to get the widcomm stack on the Wizard? Doesn't it already have the microsoft stack on it?
Thanks
how did u answer the calls on your lap top??? thats awesome wanna share? thank you!
my email address is [email protected]
To be a "headset" for another device, you need the "Audio Gateway" profile.
Most desktop adapters support this profile (the Widcom stack does), so your desktop or laptop PC can be a headset for your phone. I've used this as a speakerphone when we were doing something in a class. It's pretty slick.
The Wizard does NOT have the Audio Gateway profile, so it cannot be the speakers or mic for another device.
However, SOME of the Ipaq PDA's can do this. I've done it with a Bluetooth-Equipped Ipaq, so I know that, at least in theory, it IS possible.
TomXP411 thanks. You basically explained it for beckhams777...
PDAs that are not a phone themselves are usually the ones that have this profile. If you find a device that has this profile AND uses the Widcomm stack, I may be able to extract this profile and use it on other devices also. It also depends on what version of widcomm stack they use... But, it could well be possible now that I know some other devices can do it
Thanks
I'll go searching 8)
got it! thanks anyways!
T-mobile MDA (USA version) and Bt
Ok, read all the posts, so there isn't a way to use my bt earbud with music on my MDA?
it worls great for phone, but MDA does NOT have audio gateway software
Al
When I pair with my Mac (OS X 10.4), the mac does discover bluetooth audio as a service on the wizard... however when i try to send sound, OS X states that it could not connect to the BT Audio device... So in theory it should be possible, if the service is discovered. We perhaps just need an app on the wizard that responds to the connection request...

Bluetooth Activesync

Has anyone managed to get a Prophet to ActiveSync over bluetooth? If so what ROM are you using and what Bluetooth dongle and bluetooth stack?
Any tips?

Yes, it's actually simple, works for me with every rom I have tested (HTC MS Stack), just make sure that activesync on your host is listening on the right com port ,refresh your PPC and the activesync service should be visible, Lurk around this board, there is alot good reading material to find

Cheers. I wanted confirmation first of all that it does work.
I am using the PDA Mobiz AKU3.2 beta ROM and I have only tried with that ROM not any previous. Could you tell me what ROM you are using at present please? I may well "downgrade" to one that is known to work.
And what Bluetooth device are you using on your desktop PC, and what Windows bluetooth stack (eg Widcomm)?
Thanks.

Most issues I have seen where related to proper com port selection

The BT issue has been an old one around.
If you are having problems, I suggest:
1- After HARD RESET, make your very first move, to BT pair your Prophet with your BT laptop or PC. Do that from your PDA. The AS profile will be there.
2- then do whatever other pairing you like
3- installing TomTom, pairing with GPS's or Hands free kits BEFORE an Active Sync pairing, REMOVES THE ACTIVE SYNC OPTION FROM THE REGISTRY, and REPLACES THAT with THE SERIAL PORT on your PC available profiles!. I've found no way back for that, no matter how much I tweaked the registry.
Hope it helps.
Thanks guys I will keep playing with it and hopefully get somewhere before I through the JAMin out of the window.
I'm trying to get Phone Control to work with my PC in my car. Essential application if only I could use it. www.phoco.net
I use the 818pro with Macbook , surely with the built-in bluetooth apple with MS stack.
1) (not sure if this step is necessary?) Just make USB active sync normally first time.
2) open the COM4 on PC as incoming port. [double click the icon on bottom right "Bluetooth icon"]
3) make COM6 as incoming port on 818pro [Connection ->Bluetooth]
4) paring the 818pro and PC, this step it will show you the ActiveSync service, tick it.
5) go to the ActiveSync program and Menu->Connect via Bluetooth.
that's it.
I've ever used with the dongle Billionton, with the Widcomm driver.
I think the trick is about the COM port, you just prepare both "incoming port" on PC and PDA, and then both of them can touch each others.
Hope this helps.

Radio: 1_02.20.21
Protocol: 4.1.13.9

Thanks
as far as I know, the prophet does not support the bluetooth pan profile
http://www.clubimate.com/t-DETAILS_JAMIN.aspx
thanks for the info.
so is there no rom for the Prophet that supports the bluetooth pan profile?
or bluetooth driver updates or a another way it can be done it can be done?
i am also having problems using active sync with my bluetooth cant seem to get it right i am still reeding some of the posts here hope fully i can sort this out soon.
It is available in AKU3.2 ROMs and I use it successfully in my car PC.
PDAMobiz_Prophet_WM5AKU3.2_v3231.exe
is this the right one ?
That one and any of the 3.2 ROMs. But note that there are problems with these ROMs including the problem that the phone won't charge over USB (you have to use the main plug-in charger).
Good luck with it.
Tried one and the phone got stuck on the boot Screen just loaded the RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship.exe againe and i will try the other one againe now. Hope i get this sorted out LOL with out making a brick out of my Prophet.
GR8 the update is installed and now lets see what works and what does not work ...

Hi, I checked it again last night. I am using the AKU3.3 now, and this works too. My Bluetooth adaptor is a Belkin USB model and I am using the latest Widcomm 5.xxx.xxx drivers.
I start by using the Internet Sharing program on the Prophet, select Bluetooth PAN, the correct GPRS profile (in my case Orange Internet) and connect. Then I connect the PC using Bluetooth to the Bluetooth LAN on the Prophet.
Hope you can get it to work for you, but it may be also dependent on using a suitable Bluetooth stack in Windows.
The Widcomm drivers don't seem to work with my blue tooth adapter. so i have to use BlueSolei, or the windows drivers. the other thing is i wanted my Prophet to use my home networks internet witch is exactly the opposite of what you did in the above post, what i learned is that your bluetooth drivers must support the hosting side of the connection. The Widcomm drivers do support it but i just cant get them to work with the bluetooth device i have.
it looks like i have to buy a new bluetooth adapter if i want to get it to work....
or see if i can get the Widcomm drivers to work with my adapter.
any other way i can do this ?
Hi. Could someone confirms that Bluesoleil drivers runs ok in S200? Thanks and regards.

Generic / Unlocked Bluetooth Mouse Driver / HID for WM5

Hey Everyone,
I just purchased a Logitech v270 BT Mouse for my laptop. I've read somewhere that there's a generic / unlocked BT Mouse Driver floating around for WM5. I searched / googled all over the place but all I came up with is the Thinkoutside locked BT mouse driver (locked to only Thinkoutside BT mice). Does anyone know where I can download the unlocked / generic driver?
Does anyone have the unlocked driver / BT Mouse HID and would email it to me at [email protected]?
I would very very much appreciate any help or links on where to find the BT Mouse Driver / HID software.
Thanks in advance.
wow, I never thought, that this should be a problem. The truth is, that I tested only BT keyboard (few logitech KB´s) and I had no problem. I used BT Broadcomm stack. If I remember correctly, it was one simple application, which allows you to connect standard USB mouse throught USB host (with external power supply in some cases). I used it for a while on my previous pda - FS Loox n500. It worked, but not so stable. On screen was a little cursor, but it dissapear randomly. I never heard about driver for hermes... Try to look to Fujitsu-Siemens forums. Maybe you can find answers there. I am currious about sollution.
Hey sinmae,
I have no problems with BT keyboards as well. The issue with mice is the mouse pointer arrow (not native to WM5) .... there needs to be software to create the pointer arrow in WM5 so the arrow moves around like it does on a desktop OS. In WM5, I'm able to pair the BT Mouse with a typical MS BT Stack or Widcomm Stack.... the problem is rendering the pointer arrow and moving it around. I read in another post that there's a hacked unlocked Thinkoutside BT Mouse driver but I can't seem to find in. I'll take your advice and search the Fujitsu-Siemens forum. Do you have link to the Fujitsu-Siemens forum you're talking about?
Thanks

I've looked in this way too.
It's really pitty but I found hacked Thinkoutside BT Mouse driver only for WM2003.
It seems that there is no hacked driver for WM5
Hey bobstarina,
Is it possible if you can email me the WM2003 driver/cab if you have it at [email protected]?
Have you already tried the driver on WM5?
What happens? Just curious.
Thanks

Question to anyone with experience hacking drivers,
Since I'm able to download a locked WM5 version for the BT Mouse driver from Thinkoutside:
http://www.thinkoutside.com/support/download.asp?did=161&pid=10&link=/support/Download%20Support/PPC5/En/dr/Think%20Outside%20ppc5%20En.zip
Is difficult (with the right tools) to hack the installer/cab to make it unlocked for any BT Mouse?
I'm hoping the driver is merely filtering device IDs specific to ThinkOutside's mice. I can easily get the device ID of my VT270 from my laptop using Device Properties....
What tools/software are recommended?
I've never hacked a driver before other then hacking a Widcomm Driver where I had to add my device ID to an .ini file using a basic text editor.
If I am successful hacking this driver, I would most certainly share it with the rest of the community
Please Help
