???
I've created a virtual serial port on the Mac, and installed generic GPRS modem scripts. This got me as far as having the PowerBook "wake up" the XDA and it appears like it tries to dial, but always fails.
The error message varies. Most often it is "A modem error occurred. Please verify your settings and try again." Sometimes I get "The connection has failed. Please verify your settings and try again."
It is interesting to note that the Mac (PowerBook G4 17" 10.3.5) doesn't recognize the XDA as a mobile phone. It sees it only as a PDA, and sees the service profiles:
Service Discovery
Voice Gateway (what the hell is that??)
SSA
stack?
Which bt stack are you using? I
tried the widcomm, and my powerbook can see that the xda2 offers network services, but the mac bt stack doesn't have that capability. I'm praying I can bridge the 802.11 in the xda3 to do this.
I know it has been months since you posted this but did you guys ever Solve the issue ?????
Nope. XDA II, pda2K, and C500 Smartphone testes, and none will work.
I've got O2 IIs in HK last week. and tried to find another Bluletooth Phone such as Nokia/Sony Ericcson/Motorola Im using.
My O2IIs could find them as Obex/Serial Port on them, but couldnt find any Dial Up Modem.
Also tried to find Network connection. no this function, eighter!!
Installed to try BluetoothGPS.zip on IIs, Bluetooth is not turned on any more. also copy and paste some excuting files of BluetoothGPS.zip to IIs
also couldnt work.
@I think IIs doesn't have the function of Dial Up Modem Client.......
@Do anyone of you get infromation to use IIs as a Dial Up Modem Client of GPRS with another BT Mobile Phone???
Anybody used the wmodem successfully with the pc before with magician through USB?
I always get an error 734. If i try to use the windows dialer and turned on the terminal, i see lots of garbage.
I also want to use the wmodem to connect to CSD line instead of GPRS... i mean by using windows dialer dialing the magician to connect to the internet.
My purpose is to dial-up to my customer's site using my XDA II Mini but use my computer's PC Anywhere to troubleshoot their computer... right now i can't do anything.
Appreciate if anyone knows whats wrong and why i can't even connect to the GPRS through wmodem. I have no problem if connect it directly using the device even with CSD lines.
I have just upgraded to WM6. I was using my Xda Exec as a blutooth modem for my laptop. But there is no dial up service in the new Rom. I am unable to use it as modem anymore. Can somebody, please help me to use it as modem? When I pair it with my laptop there is only one service option "Network Access Point" is available and when I try to connect the following error msg appears "connection from (Phone)" is denied. I am using Blutooth stack by Toshiba (Dell 350).
Toshiba bluetooth stack doesnt work with WM6.0, upgrade to Vista and use the default MS bluetooth.
Thanks for your advice. Can I use usb cable to make WM6 as a modem? If it is, then how?
toshiba stack 5.10.06 works fine with wm6 and with reg hack u can use it as a router over bluetooth so you can connect more then one computer, im using dells 350 bluetooth .

I installed that version but still same situation..... "connection from (Phone) is denied". Can you please let me know how to connect?
The only way that I have got this to work is to
- connect from Internet Sharing on the PDA; then
- connect from PC
this will get a connection, but the IP/DNS settings in the PAN network seem incorrect (set to 192.168.81.1, but not gateway or DNS).
- while connected, set the IP address and DNS settings in the PAN Network driver on the PC to obtain automatically, and the connection should then work.
A pain...
I have existing software that establishes a RAS connection on PPC2003 using IPWorks NetDial component. I am now trying to get the same program to run on a 3G device running Mobile 5 (O2 Atom Life) without success. The IPWorks RAS utility returns 'The port is already in use or is not configured for Remote Access dialout'. The phonebook entry I am using connects successfully when done manually, and I have also confirmed that nothing else has a data connection. I have also tried the RAS utility from Sapphire Solutions with no success either. The Sapphire utility can see an existing USB Activesync connection on PPC2003 but fails to do so on the 3G Mobile 5 device. Can anyone help me with this problem? Is it a 3G issue, Mobile 5 issue, or even a problem with the device itself?
