Hi everybody,
I'm using an O2 XDAII from one month and I'm almost satisfied. Everything seems to work fine....
I'm just disappointed about one only issue:
If I use the BT headset or the speakerphone during a conversation the person I talk to hears an echo of his own voice while he speaks (so the conversation isn't very clear). From my side instead, everything is ok (I hear no echo and can hear the person clearly).
But if I switch from BT headset or speakerphone to the normal speaker and mic the problem disappears and the conversation is clear for both sides.
Has anybody experienced anything similar?
Cheers
P.S.: Great forum and good people.
Great forum.
I experience a similar problem with the carkit.
The nokia phones have a solution: *3370# to set the echo off.
Is there someone who knows a solution like this for the Himalaya?

Hey guyz i was just wondering u know you put it on loud speaker, the person on the other line always hears an echo of his voice and they can immediatly recognize they're on loud speaker + it's kinda annoying hearing ur own voice. Is there anyway through this? I tried lowering the volume.. no use :/

I think it is either the distance of the phone from your mouth or the phone application itself! I think you do get this even on the normal desk phones, so does the N9210!
my bet is feedback from mic to speaker
all devices which have a mic and a speaker can get feedback
but most likely it would be something they could fix in the software
cybermate it's not Me who i hear the echo of.. the person talking to me always hears His echo and it's annoying to the people i talk to and sometimes id rather talk by speaker because im like typing or something ..
Yup, every time I use speaker phone I am told to get my head out of the bucket.
because speaker phone inc the vol the mic can recieve the sounds comming from the speaker
thats why they can hear themselfs
every time i have my head in a bucket while speaker with people on my xda2 people tell me to disable speakerphone
yeah same here !! shouldn't they have THOUGHT of that at least !! it is important to some people !
I have the same problem any fixes for it.
Yes, me too on my QTEK 9100. Unfortunatley most of my day is spent in long conference calls and the speakerphone is a must! Anyone with any fixes please let me know.
When ever I use it people complain that they can a) hear themselves and b) can hear alot of hissing sounds
hi
with my P3600 when i make a call handsfree i hear perfectly but who is listening to me no.
with a normal call no problem.
is there anyone else with the same problem?
thanks
Start, settings, microphone AGC. Turning this on makes the microphone more sensitive. It makes it better for hands free, but worse for normal calls. To hear the difference changes the modes and then use the voice recorder.
thanks Raeldor for your answer.
i will try.
bye
I've tried with Agc, but the microphone still doesn't work well.
in an italian forum, many people have this problem.
is it possibile that no one here has this problem too?
thanks.
I nearly always use a BT headset for calls since the Wing is a pain to hand hold while talking.
Nearly all people I talk to complain of a "screetch" type of sound when I answer a call with my BT headset. I've tried three different headsets, same result. The noise does not happen when I initiate the call, and I cannot hear the noise when I answer the call. at frst I thought it was just a one time event, but callers tell me the problem is consistent and loud enough that they keep their phone away from their ear when I answer.
Using a stock Wing (TMO factory ROM) with either a Jabra BT500 (most of the time), a Plantronics 590 or a Plantronics 6xx headset, same result with all.
Anyone experience similar or have ideas how to resolve?
Noone has mentioned it to me yet (just got my wing yesterday) but my MDA definitely did that on occassion. Only did it when it was on vibrate too...I think people were actually hearing the mechanical vibration on their end. And it only happenned via BT...which made it even stranger since that meant the mic wasn't even part of the phone.
Amazing, that's exactly what the problem was!
Apparently even when you answer via BT, the internal microphone is enabled for a second or two and it picks up the sound of the vibration motor.
Thanks for the advice, now to gripe to TMO or someone about the problem for what it's worth.
my mda has been doing the same thing for the past 2 days... but on all calls incoming and outgoing without the bt and it starts up with the bt but stops after a second.. is there anything to do to fix it?
Ok XDA, i have one big/huge/enormous problem,
Scenario:
Talking on the phone, using the Wired Handsfree (which came with the phone), when i get another call (call waiting) the notification of the other call is going through the loud speaker! not only that, the ongoing is immediately routed the loud speaker, anyone near me can hear the conversation clearly!!!!!!
does anyone face this?
i checked it on 2 X1s, 1 black & 1 silver and it's there.
anyway to solve this
same problem for me
I have a similar problem with a Parrok CK3100. The phone can't ever seem to decide for sure what speakers it's supposed to be using.
Sometimes I'll press the Voice Command button on the bluetooth device and the phone speaks out, sometimes the car speakers speak out.
I just don't know.
Annoying that the much, much cheaper E71-2 handles all of this with great aplomb, as did my Q9h.
any one else facing this problem people?
i started searching in order to get a clue,
the main thing i'm thinking is that it's caused the same way VOIP (including skype) used to behave using speaker phone!
what do you think?
I have the same problem with a german x1. ROM R2A.
Is there any solution for this problem
thx
walk
Fixed
Bugs Fixes (Registry):
Sound is routed to the Loud Speaker when having a phone call and get a waiting call while using Handsfree
change the key HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Speaker to 0 (default value = 1).
added to the wiki of X1
Thanks. I've changed that setting to see if it solves my problem, too.
I have had the phone for about a month now, and I have an issue where if the call is on loudspeaker for me the other person hears a lot of echo.
I believe it to be because it diverts to the top microphone when in loudspeaker, but I am not sure what the issue is.
When doing the hardware test the 'top-mic' test is extremely echo-y. I can do a video of this if it helps, but its just looping the original sound back and keeps getting louder and louder. The main-mic is fine.
Anyone experienced this and have a solution? Thanks
Edit: I have tried a few things like the Micfix module but that didnt help.
