you guys probably don't have mmreg in your startup folder.
Not sure if its the same thing
I had similar with i-Mate upgrade and found it was something in the 'Files' Sync followed by a soft reset. I had to hard reset and make sure I did not sync 'Files'.
I eventually made a new 'My Documents' on my PC, copied over what I needed and then syncd 'Files'. Don't let it sync the old stuff.
It was very odd :?
I've found the reason MMS and even SMS can not work properly (can not receive any SMS but you can send it).
That problem happens after restore back our data which I did backup by Pocket backup.
So the solution is:
- hard reset again
- install all programs again
- sync with PC to get personal data (you may lost some but contact, calenda, note... are OK)
Maybe new version is not compatible back with Pocketbackup.
T-Mobile USA MMS Setup
I've followed around the MMS+tmobile threads but don't see the specific setups parameters for the iMate XDA2 running WM2003. Questions I would have:
In MMS Composer->Servers tab:
1. what is TMO's gateway IP addr and server address?
MMS Composer Preferences tab:
1. In Connect Via:, chooices are: My Work Network, My ISP, Work, Secure WAP Network, The WAP network, The Internet. Which of these would be setup to connect to MMS server?
In Start-Settings-Connections-Connections-(My ISP) Manage Existing Connections, I've tried internet2.voicestream.com, wap.internet.voicestream.com and internet3.voicestream.com
but don't seem to have the options configed correct.
Any help on the forum would be appreciated.

Hello,
I have this weird problem.
Hardresetted my device to make sure only the nice programs get installed. Installed the Orange.cab too, to make sure all the settings for orange netherlands will be used.
GPRS works good and so on.
Only problem is that i dont see the mms inbox icon in Messaging. Weird thing is that when i go to mms settings in the inbox all settings are shown as they suppose to be.
Anyone know whats up ?
I installed only the following cab's from ext rom :
Default_cdl_wwe_version.cab
Default_ie_view.sa.cab
Default_Imate_PPC_SA_V5.5.03.cab
I dont see info about the other cabs that need to be installed to make mms work, but i could be wrong. Any help is welcome !
Thanks !
Jeroen
This happened to me as well. I'm not sure I want to do another hard reset right now to try to get it back though.
I got my device running nice and fast now, even skype works perfect with nearly no delay so i dont want to hard reset again either.
But i would like to use mms lol
It's good to hear im not the only one with this issue.
By default (after a hard reset), there is no MMS account configured in messaging. Are you sure you have populated your provider's server info and set it as default (in mms configuration -> servers tab)? I believe after that was completed, that is when MMS showed up as an acct. in messaging.

Yes, it is configured there. I even created a new server, and then deleted the old one. Still no MMS account folders.
Same here.. all mms settings are configured, but still no mms inbox..
Hmm...couple more things to check (whether or not these affect the creation of an MMS acct. in messaging):
- Make MMS server connect via "the WAP network".
- Provide a valid WAP address/port in your proxy settings for WAP access.
(These are addt'l things that I had setup and I am getting MMS in my messaging app)
I think you need the cab file: Default_CAB-shortcut-CDL-08Sep05.CAB...that has the MMS app in it...
I have a At&T 8525 that I have unlocked to use with Suncom service in USA but I am unable to access the web and I am looking for the correct settings to do this. SUncom will not give the settings to me, also if possible the directions to install if settings are available-thanks

Give this a try. It doesn't have the 8525 listed (of course). But I'm sure you can choose one of the other devices and the info should be somewhat standard.
gprs settings for suncom
I am using an HTC TyTn, it is very similar.
the settings that i haqve gotten to work after much trial and error are as follows.
make a new connection called "internet"
Cellular line GPRS
access point name: mobileinternet
user name, password, and domain are blank
and thats it.
MMS settings are:
create a server i called it suncom mms
gateway: 66.150.33.115
port:9201
server address: http://mms.suncom.net:8088/mms
connect via: i set to my isp (im not sure if this matters but it is working)
wap version: WAP 1.2
The wap version and port number are fixed on my phone. I have found that the port number is more inportant than the wap version.
I hope this helps.
thanks for the settings but I am still unable to send MMS --I set the WAP as the gateway #is that the correct place to enter it

Hi,
I've just upgraded my Blue Angel (O2 XDA IIs) to Xplode's latest WM6 ROM and its working perfectly appart from MMS and GPRS.
I've installed both MMS cab files and I can compose an MMS message, but when I try to send the message, it will say sending, but the message will remain in the outbox and it will never get sent.
Similarly, I cannot access the internet through Internet Explorer with GPRS.
Can anybody please tshow me exactly how to setup my Blue Angel for this?
Thankyou,

Your first problem seems to be GPRS setting. If that is not set properly, even MMS will not work.
GPRS: I am not familiar with O2 parameters, but you need to go to Settings > Connections > Connections and MY ISP and create a new or manage an existing connection. Parameters needed are : Connection name, modem of Cellular Line(GPRS), access point name, User Name (O2 's GPRS users name), and password.
This should be enough to set your GPRS settings.
Once this is set, you need to setup MMS. Open Messaging, then Menu > Options > click on MMS. Go to Servers Tab and click New, here you need to set Server name, Gateway, port number, server address and most important is the connect via, set My ISP (GPRS connection name). You are all set and set this MMS as your default.
Install HTC Network Wizard, go to Settings-Connections-Network Wizard, choose your country and operator, soft reset and voila!
DANDANA is right , it will work for you.
But as we know Network Wizard has limited list of operators so for example it is useless to me and i have to perform all of the settings manually, because my operator is not on the list

Whilewe are on the mms/gprs subject:
at the moment, i have 2 settings on my gprs connection 1. gprs wap (internet) 2. mms
the way it works is, if i need to connect t internet then i need to set up connection to gprs wap MANUALLY, and the same thing for mms.
the problem is if my connection is set up on gprs, and there is an incoming mms, it fails to receive automatically.
how can i set it up automatically? I know there is "AUTO PICK" option, but I tried it before and it doesnt work.... or does it?
how do you guys set this up?
Thanks
Try this CAB
Or you can try to use Schap's Operator settings....
Help!
I have the 8125 so the phone is set to receive all of it's mms messages through cingular. Now that I'm using a un-locked t-mobile sim I still can not get my mms messages.
Does anyone know how to make this work?
Under "MMS Configuration" for the servers, there is a "new" option. When I open that, it asks for the following:
Server name______________
Gateway:________________
Port number:_____________ the number in the port box is 9201
Server address:_______________
Connect via: it gives the options of media net, my work network, my isp, work, sicure WAP Network, the WAP network, the internet.
Am I looking to go the right route and can anyone help?
Thanks,
Loretta
try one of these cabs.. even if you don't have a data plan these should setup your MMS..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2237367&postcount=1
Thank you...but I cant find what you said to go to...
How do I get to that place you suggested I look? I tried to copy-paste it into the browser and it came up not found?
thanks,
loretta
You didn't say who you have service with. Those cabs are for tmobile just CLICK (that's why it's blue) the link (you can't copy and paste it because the URL displayed is truncated). If you have cingular then I can't help you
These CABs are awesome! Make sure to use the rigt one though. I find that I need to use the WAP one (his 5.99 plan) to get it to work in the SE US.
Thanks a bunch!
What do your CABs do differently than just setting up the connection and the MMS server though? Up until I stumbled across these CABs, I almost had the settings memorized.
i cant send and download mms but gprs working perfect
what to do all the setting is ok
To make my MMS work I had to do (and this is translated so might differ a little):
Message tab -> All -> Menu -> Settings -> Settings -> Menu -> MMS-server -> your profile -> then the connection was set to GPRS or WAP, change this to My ISP or My work network.

What ROM are you using? I do know that some of the more recent ROMs have this particular problem.
MMS not working on Vodafone HD2
I've followed the instructions on the vodafone.co.uk site carefully for MMS server settings but my device simply fails to send OR receive MMS. This is highly annoying for such a new device.
HELP! Someone must have it sorted.
I have exactly the same problem except im an o2 uk user, cant send or recieve mms when using a cooked rom.

And the same for me on VF UK. Can't send or receive MMS. Did you ever get it sorted?
not sure about vf, but for o2, you need two data connections setting up. 1 is wap, for mms, and the other is for actual data. If you set the mms server settings to use the normal data connection, it simply wont work.
Problem is when you go to settings menu all settings connection connection select networks edit, it only shows the currently selected data connection, you cant see that there is another connection setting there. So, you need to change teh top dropdown to the second data connection (o2 active its called for o2, whilst the normal data is called mobile web) and THEN you can see/edit teh settings for that connection.
the mms server settings need to be told to use O2 active and not mobile web, else it wont work.
Just some thoughts.
O2 user - same problem
I've just come back from an O2 shop, where one of the "experts" there failed miserably to get my phone to send or receive an MMS. I share all of the above frustrations.
samsamuel - could you do a step-by-step guide to the set-up you describe? I would like to try this but I am struggling to follow your explanation.

sorry, my hd2 is back at O2 being fixed, and its not easy to do a step by step from memory.
I shall bookmark this thread and try to remember to come back and write a manual guide when it comes back. (Should be teh end of this week, all being well)
The connection details I have for my O2 HD2 are:
(Under Message tab -> All -> Menu -> Settings -> Options -> Menu -> MMS-server)

193.113.200.195
Port Number:
8080
Server Address:
http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect Via:
My Work Network

no worries. if you still havent figured it out yourself and i havent replied by, say, monday, feel free to PM me and remind me. (I have the memory of a 90 year old goldfish)
ok, so heres what i did last time i manually set up mms for o2.
settings menu all settings connections connections add new modem
name o2 active (tho of course name doesnt matter)
modem cellular line gprs
AP name wap.o2.co.uk
user o2wap
pass password
domain blank
then, sms tab, all messages, menu settings options menu mms server new
name o2 active MMS (again, name doesnt matter)
ip 193.113.200.195
port 8080
server add h ttp://mmsc.mms.02.co.uk:8080
connect via **choose the name you gave the modem connection in part 1**
if you choose your normal data connection it wont work, it needs to be o2s wap server.
message size 300k
wap ver wap 2.0
soft reset, and it 'should' work.
