I will use a remote control via infrared, but it doesn´t work.
I´ve tried 2 different programms.
Does anyone know if it is possible or know what i´m doing wrong?
Many thanks
Rob.

Hi. I was previously ActiveSyncing ok via my bluetooth dongle, and then I installed Towa's bluetooth fix, which works great with my GPS system.
However, now I can't ActiveSync with my laptop anymore.
It could be something else, but before I waste a lot of time on this, I just want to know this. Has anyone managed to get the Towa fix working with both GPS and ActiveSync? If someone says yes, I'll persevere with sorting things out my end, though I'm thinking that maybe there's a conflict?

/me says yes. Or, to rephrase, that: right at this moment my MDA II is talking to both my Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS and my desktop machine via bluetooth simultaneously. ActiveSync and TomTom both run, and both work without a problem. I have Towa's patch installed, or course.
Occasionally, however, ActiveSync on my desktop machine (!) seems to lose contact to the Bluetooth dongle. Rebooting helps. Did you try that? Also, a soft reset of the MDA cannot hurt.
Cheers
Daniel
Many thanks. I've got up and running myself. Turned out I had to re-install my bluetooth dongle on the PC. Almost certainly nothing to do with the Towa extensions, which have worked flawlessly from the first.

GPS BURTOOTH
hi iv installed software on xda2 and it can see my bluetooth gps but it runs very slowly about 500m behind me is there any way of speeding it up please as i need it so much every day cheers everyone
I also experienced the same thing as jgadallah. Towa's patch works beautifully with my BT devices (headset, GPS & AS) so long as you create the partnership with the PC for activeSYnc first BEFORE installing the patch. BUT I can never activesync with Towa's patch if the patch is installed BEFORE the bond is created with the PC and XDA.
To overcome this, I always create the partnership first with my PC (say after a hard reset) then only install Towa's patch.

This does not sound like a problem with the Bluetooth connection (which either works or doesn't), but with your GPS receiver. Does it use XTrac mode? If so, this is a known effect - better reception under difficult circumstances, but a lag of some ten seconds.
There are forums where all this is discussed. Unfortunately, the only one I know is in German - if you understand German, have a look at www.pocketnavigation.de. Otherwise, maybe someone else can point you to an English forum?

I just noticed my bluetooth adaptor supports some kind of LAN thing.. so it got me wondering..
Would I be able to use the bluetooth connection on my xda2 to share the internet connection without going through activesync?
Would I also be able to access shared folders on the LAN?
ive been wanting to do this as well
its gotta be possible , but i think theres a problem with the bt stack ?
would be nice to sit in my yard and browse the web tho, without forking out twice for internet use
I've got it working through activesync - but activesync has the annoying habit of disconnecting every now and then just for the hell of it.. especially when transferring a lot of data...
Would also be cool to be able to stream movies/music from my network to the pda..
here you are some applicable resources

Can we setup a Bluetooth Internet Access Thread for this?
Yeah - Half of the forum is asking the same question - There's a dozen different approaches everyone's trying - But I'm not having much luck. I can do it all fine on an iPAQ but the iMate / XDA II is being a cow!
That's WITH or WITHOUT the Widcomm stack.
ADMINS! Any chance we can setup a thread for this?
THanks!
Andrew

How to install BluetoothGPS
I have downloaded the BluetoothGPS.zip file - does anyone have any instructions on how to install
Cheers
Matmcken :?:
the zip file contains a cab file that you need to copy over to your XDAII. Once you have done that , double click on it to run it. Simple as that.
The problem is that I can't use any programm like Tv-Remote to manage devices and equipment with IrDA recievers (like TV, DVD etc.). Meanwhile I still can send/recieve data via IrDA.
Can someone plz tell me how to solve this problem? maybe it's a question of proper software to run my IrDA?
Thank you!
the ir in the xda2 is not a std consumer ir like it is in the xda1
so the remote software have to be writen specialy for the xda2 for it to work
i would not worry too much about it because the range of those ir's are very poor i had to be as close as 30cm to my TV for the remote to work
back when i had a xda1
and 30cm is not remote enough imho for it to be usefull
Which ones are XDAII specific?

Hello Everyone, just purchased my JasJar.
It's Fantastic, i had a qtek 2020 but this one is on another world.
I have one question: does any1 knows a Wifi Scanner for JasJar??
I tried ministumbler, wififofum and even retina with no luck...
2 question: the jasJar has a mini-Usb connector, can be used as a console port ?? i have a usb-serial converter, is it possible to manage a serial connection over that port?
Thanks in advance,
with many regards

I use wififorum. In toos/device menu set TIACXWLN1.
Me too.
WiFiFoFum works just fine on the JasJar.
Has anyone managed to get skype to work on Jasjar? If so, how did you do it. I have tried to get it to run on three diffrerent units (all imate Jasjar) and it either does not open or if it opens it does not work.
Thanks, apap
You may have better luck posting this in the Universal form as that is what the JasJar device is based on.
Chris
