I know there's been much fuss about Bluetooth and activesync but my problem is IRDA. My original XDA used to happily activesync over infrared with my laptop, running Windows 98. The XDA II manages to loose or corrupt its link with the laptop as soon as I try "Connect via IR..."
After many, many tries, I've had zero success Any clues? Is it Windows 98? Is it yet another bug in XDA II firmware?
Peter.

Hi
I have recently upgraded my XDA 1 and can no longer Sync through IR with my XP Pro Laptop. Serial still OK.
Any ideas why and where I can get a solution
Thanks
Ric.
Try deleting the old partnership on your desktop and/or renaming your PPC to something like Pocket_PC2. You can't connect two devices that have the same name, and the XDA looks like a different device after you've put a different ROM in.
Just a guess...
Hey, i wonder if anyone could help me.
I have a belkin F8T001 bluetooth dongle and have upgraded to sp2. I am unable to get my XDA to sync with my computer. I can bond them together fine and transfer files between but the XDA never gives me the option for using it to active sync.
Sorry i know this question has been sort of answered before but i really cant seem to get this working.
Thanks in advance.

I have already tried using this tutorial but with no luck, the XDA doesnt give me the option to use Active Sync over bluetooth.
have you bounded the device ?

i havent tried with sp2 but with sp1 i used this guide

i also remember somebody talking about you having to reinstall the bluetooth drivers from the bluetooth dongle to replace the crap one sp2 replace it with
Guess you can see that I am a newbie here!
My XDA II connector is dodgy and active sync only works via IR & Bluetooth.
Can I upgrade to Windows Mobile 5 this way - when trying to upgrade via IR the Upgrade software asks to make sure the XDA II is in the cradle.
All I can do with the cradle is charge my XDA II - and the upgrade stops before progressing asking to check the connections.
Something tells me the upgrade will only work via the cradle to PC (USB).
Anyone out their advise me......................
wrong forum.. try Himalaya & Andes
I have spent the last 2 days on the phone with o2 about this problem. Microsoft Vista does not accept the driver that o2 gave me. The man from o2 had no problem getting vista to accept the driver on his computer.
Is anyone having problems with getting your xda to run as a usb modem with microsoft vista. I would be happy to hear if you have a solution. Thanks
no such issues here...o2 neo workin perfectly as usb as well as bt modem with vista home premium in my lappy.
I have an old (2004) but still working UK O2 XDA II. It is running the original Windows Mobile 2003 and ROM version 1.7.2.00WWE.I am trying to connect a Dell laptop Inspiron 6400 running Vista to the net via the XDA.
I have installed Windows mobile device center and have tried to connect via a Bluetooth dongle and a USB connection using the O2 cradle supplied. I have set up a Bluetooth connection and tried to connect via this, also the USB connection but to no avail.
Any help with the settings etc would be very much appreciated!
Or is it necessary to be running WM 2005 for this to be possible?
