(Just need some basic GPRS/MMS settings)
Thanks,

I can only help with gprs internet connection. I haven't worked out how to configure mms yet
Add a new connection and use the following settings
Enter a name for the connection:
orangeinternet
Select a modem
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access point name
orangeinternet
Leave username / password /domain blank. Do not configure anything in advanced
If I can be of any more assistance let me know

Anyone want MMS on their XDA? (Thought so!)

Hi, i am a regular reader of the site (even if i don't post much). I have had access to this program since last November! But only the most recent builds have always worked to send/receive MMS on my O2 IRL XDA.
I would recommend fully uninstalling normal Ezwap 2.1 and restarting b4 installing this version 2.5 that enables MMS to be sent/received on your XDA. Make sure you have MMS provisioned on your mobile account...

I have installed the Ezwap2.5 but i cant configure the MMS to send?
Can u help me out on this? Thanks
hope this helps...
Hi, make sure first that it's your GPRS WAP connection that Ezwap is using, and set it to 'auto connect' in 'Options'
under the 'connection' tab set connection type to 'gateway' and put in your networks WAP IP address (o2 IRL's is 192.168.090.074). Click on 'connectionless gateway'
Untick 'wtls' secured connection.
Click on the 'MMS' settings tab next.
Put in your networks MMS 'Message Server' or MMS homepage. (O2 IRL's is http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002)
All the other settings can be setup as you like.
Has anyone got this working on o2 in the UK.
For EzWAP to work I have to have the address as 193.113.200.195 Port 9200 and I have the MMS as message server as http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 however, I get a message failed notification..
Oh
Would I have to have GPRS and MMS on my account? At the moment I have O2 Data 5 but I've not contacted customer service to have MMS provisioned.
mms
i have installed it but how do i get it to work i am on uk o2 what adress should i be using and what port what identifer and what message server

hi guys
i have the full spec on seting up a 02 xda with ezwap if you want a copy e-mail me at [email protected] and i will e-mail it back to you
Got MMS activated today and my setting's above worked fine.
HeadStAtE - how did you get it activated? I'm having problems with CPW claiming that their system disallows MMS and Data5 to be active on the same O2 UK account with an XDA. I've tried about five times and have been refused each time, or told that Data5 has to be turned off.
Turns out that O2UK are trying to squeeze every last penny out of their users, Data5 is a fair £12.50/m for 5MB + £1.50/MB; but if you get MMS activated, you default to pay as you go GPRS which is a whopping £5/MB.
So basically, there are no real technical issues, simply a greedy tarrif system.
mms
i have just had mms enabled on o2 and they never mentioned a tarriff except 35p a message

Does that mean you've got a Data plan (e.g. Data5) as well as MMS enabled on O2 UK? (sorry to others - this is going a little off topic)
mms
no all they said was that i would lose gprs because the xda couldnt run both. that mms needed gprs to run. and i am a 02 select customer and they were charging me £1.50 a meg on gprs
MMS charges
WAP is currently free; if you setup Ezos to point to the WAP GPRS APN then you won't charged for WAP (but the MMS service WILL charge you 40p a message).
Mobile Web is whatever tarriff you're on - £5/mb on the cheap plans, £2.35/MB on the more expensive ones.
Or you can take Data5 at £12/mth.
If you send all MMS through Mobileweb, what do you think will happen?
I'm going to sound really stupid saying this - but what exactly is MMS?
and for that matter, I've seen XNET plastered over o2 tariff/online phone shops with no mention of what the hell it means - and I am very web/internet savvy - I guess not mobile savvy!
Damn genie lol
im on genie prepay 300free wap/texts a month and i got the gprs working and mms set up from when i had my 3510i then on here i can send and receive the mms messages but i cant download it.... so when i receive them i cant see them so its no use for me....
wot ive found out bout prepay/payg bt with xda....
Dial up wap settings
Internet browsing owrks, email works, wap browser works
gprs settings
Wap browsing works but downloading files from wap doesnt, email dont work, and internet exploring doesnt work....
so if iwant to use this mms i have to subcribe to be paying per mb downloading which i do not want to do so no luck afterall

O2 Ireland - MMS Setting for XDA

Hi there
Does anyone have the MMS settings for the XDA for Ireland. I got the settings from this website but they do not work, I was wondering if someone could simplyfy things on this matter.
I have EzWap V2 MMS installed and set up as per listed
Connection - O2 IRL GPRS WAP
Connect Automatically Ticked
Connection type "Gateway"
Address 192.168.090.074 Port 9200
Connectionless Gateway Ticked
Push enabled (no idea what this is)
MMS
Message Server
http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002
Sender Type E-Mail
Display Name Gary
This should be Alright, can anyone help?
I was told by O2 that this will be supported in the "Next Phase" whenever this will be.
Anyhelp on this would be great!!

Orange M5000 MMS failure?!

Does anyone with an Orange (UK) M5000 use MMS successfully?
I've tried the settings listed elsewhere but can't get MMS to send or receive. Is there anything I'm missing?!
In the connections tab, I have two connection groups - Orange World and 'My Work Network'. In the Orange World group, the following modems are listed;
Auto pick
Orange WAP
Orange MMS
Orange GPRS WAP
Orange GPRS internet
The Orange MMS uses orangemms as the APN, user name and password are blank.
By default, Orange GPRS internet is selected, should this still be ok for sending MMS?
Internet access works ok.
In the MMS configuration page, servers tab,
the gateway is 192.168.224.10, port 9201
server address is http://mms.orange.co.uk/
connect via=Orange World,
wap version 2.0.
I have tried changing the connect via setting to Orange MMS, the internet, the wap network...nothing seems to work!
Can anyone shed any light on this one? I definately have MMS on my account.
Many thanks.
If you look under
Settings.....Connections.....Advanced tab, then select networks.....
"Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using:" Should be Orange MMS
Is this the case?
That was the problem, thanks for that.

Orange Connection Settings (SPV-M3100)

Okay, I updated my firmware on my PSV-M3100 to the one here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281146
And all works fine in terms of day to day usage of the PDA, but when trying to access WAP or the internet via 3G or GPRS I'm getting errors saying the connection needs editing.
Would someone running the default UK Orange firmware be kind enough to post the connection settings that come with the SPV-M3100 as standard.
I even called Orange to help but "the guy who knows the SPV-M3100 has gone home for the day" not that it is a M3100 issue, just any old Orange 3G settings I imagine?
Anyway, any help on this would be appreciated.
I have tried searching here and the net for what should be in the connections area but very little info is out there
maybe this can help:
http://www.pda-friendly.net/PDA_GPRS_Settings.htm
Thanks, but I was looking for something a bit more thorough...
Settings for Orange World, Orange Internet, Orange MMS
And then the connection settings for GPRS/3G under these
Plus proxies etc.
Still, I am meant to have Orange calling me back today to help me out here, so whatever they tell me I'll document here for the Wiki.
Cheers
ok, i don't know if there's any cab available with all the settings, but a quick search on the networking forum poped up this which also contains MMS settings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=224183
Thanks for those...
Orange are baffled and now my phone number is not recognised by Orange World at all, and I can't see any website sites...
I'll give them 24 hours more to fix or I cancel my contract (it'll be my 3rd SPV M3100 in 10 days - must be a record).
...at least I can get a 3G connection without it bombing out, even though I can't do anything with it.
Sweet! Those settings worked perfectly on my Orange UK M3100, just as they have on all my other devices. Shame there isnt a cab that can do the same!
Cheers,
Fin
Are these of any help?
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
Hi There,
Just to let you know, you can get the settings straight from the Orange UK website. Just create a free account based on your billing and phone number, and there will be a section for them to either SMS you the settings to your M3100 or for you to stick them in yourself.
I recently put on WM6 onto my M3100, and just put the orange wap setting. Even though there are originally about 3 or 4 different gprs settings on the M3100, the only one that really ever is used is the orangewap access point settings. The orangeinternet access point settings are never touched when the M3100 3G access is taking place.
FYI from the orange site under 3G Setup for M3100:
Setting up the data account
1. On the PDA, tap on Start and then Settings.
2. Tap on the Connections tab.
3. Tap on the Connections icon.
4. Tap on the Advanced tab.
5. Tap on Select Networks.
6. Under the first drop down box, tap on New…
7. In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Orange GPRS WAP
8. Tap on the Modem tab.
9. Tap on New…
10. In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Orange GPRS WAP
11. Tap on the Select a modem drop-down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
12. Tap on Next.
13. In the Access point name: field, enter orangewap
14. Tap on Next.
15. Tap on Finish.
16. Tap on the Proxy Settings tab.
17. Select the This network connects to the Internet option.
18. Select the This network uses a proxy sever to connect to the Internet option.
19. Tap on Advanced… Tap on WAP.
20. In the Server field, enter 192.168.071.035
21. In the Port field, enter 8080
22. Tap on ok five times
23. Tap on x to close the Settings screen.
24. Tap on Start, Programs and then Internet Explorer.
25. Tap on Menu.
26. Tap on Favorites...
27. Tap on the Add / Delete tab.
28. Tap on Add...
29. In the Name field, enter Orange GPRS WAP
30. In the Address field, enter http://wap.orange.co.uk
31. Tap on Add.
32. Tap on ok.
33. Tap on x.
The new WAP profile is now configured and ready for use.
I did everything apart from Step 21, whereby when I wrote my settings down, the port number remained at 9201, NOT 8080 as written in step 21.
Give this a go, and see if it works for you.
Good Luck!
if you're on contract, the accesspoint is orangeinternet no password, nothing.
for MMS settings; google for them, a site called filesaveas.com has them

I have created a cab file that will install Orange UK internet, WAP and MMS settings to make things a little easier!
Hi,
I have upgraded to 20070320_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.23.0.0_1.34.00.10 on my M3100 which works great except for the 3G connection. To configure the device I used the 'Orange Internet MMS Settings.cab'.
Once the Direct push is configured for my exchange server, the device downloads emails. The device then drops the 3G/GPRS connection and the activesync screen shows error with No connection for data.
Looking into the xml files saved from the original Orange ROM shows extra settings that do not appear in the 'Orange Internet MMS Settings.cab' file.
Has anyone else seen this issue or have more info on Orange 3G settings?
Many Thanks
Crammy
I've flashed my phone with this WM6 ROM as well. Has your SPV M3100 stopped receiving/sending MMS's ?? I've checked and re-checked my phones MMS settings a dozen times and also had orange send them to my phone cia SMS but no joy. I wonder if it is just me or a common problem with the new WM6 ROM's and the M3100?
Mine works fine.
As long as you set up the MMS data connection AND the mms server correctly, yours will as well.
There are hundreds of threads here and elsewhere with the correct way - but the key is to set up an ORANGEMMS connection in the "private" connection settings (with user Orange, password Multimedia and APN as orangemms, then set up Orange MMS server in MMS settings with Gateway IP (proxy) address: 192.168.224.10 , Port: 9201, MMS Message (Relay) Server URL http://mms.orange.co.uk/

Looks like we are having a double conversation here!! Anyway. I have deleted my original MMS settings as these were set up in the "internet" connection, not the "private" connection as you advise. I have used exactly the setting you show above but when I try to send an MMS I can't and I just get the timer symbol showing they cannot currently be sent. I'm really at a dead end hear unless you have any other ideas?? I really appreciate you taking the time out to help though.

The browser is probably not returning the correct user-agent string. Unfortunatly the operators decided to use autodetection via this string. Its a right pain because i cant access the o2 pda site either, i get the crappy wap text version
I believe the gurus are investigating it. What ROM are you currently running?

Setting up GPRS and MMS for O2 (pay and go)

Hi,
I've just upgraded my Blue Angel (O2 XDA IIs) to Xplode's latest WM6 ROM and its working perfectly appart from MMS and GPRS.
I've installed both MMS cab files and I can compose an MMS message, but when I try to send the message, it will say sending, but the message will remain in the outbox and it will never get sent.
Similarly, I cannot access the internet through Internet Explorer with GPRS.
Can anybody please tshow me exactly how to setup my Blue Angel for this?
Thankyou,

Your first problem seems to be GPRS setting. If that is not set properly, even MMS will not work.
GPRS: I am not familiar with O2 parameters, but you need to go to Settings > Connections > Connections and MY ISP and create a new or manage an existing connection. Parameters needed are : Connection name, modem of Cellular Line(GPRS), access point name, User Name (O2 's GPRS users name), and password.
This should be enough to set your GPRS settings.
Once this is set, you need to setup MMS. Open Messaging, then Menu > Options > click on MMS. Go to Servers Tab and click New, here you need to set Server name, Gateway, port number, server address and most important is the connect via, set My ISP (GPRS connection name). You are all set and set this MMS as your default.
Install HTC Network Wizard, go to Settings-Connections-Network Wizard, choose your country and operator, soft reset and voila!
DANDANA is right , it will work for you.
But as we know Network Wizard has limited list of operators so for example it is useless to me and i have to perform all of the settings manually, because my operator is not on the list

Whilewe are on the mms/gprs subject:
at the moment, i have 2 settings on my gprs connection 1. gprs wap (internet) 2. mms
the way it works is, if i need to connect t internet then i need to set up connection to gprs wap MANUALLY, and the same thing for mms.
the problem is if my connection is set up on gprs, and there is an incoming mms, it fails to receive automatically.
how can i set it up automatically? I know there is "AUTO PICK" option, but I tried it before and it doesnt work.... or does it?
how do you guys set this up?
Thanks
Try this CAB
Or you can try to use Schap's Operator settings....
