Hey
does anybody known how to setup MMS on a Vodafone network on an XDA II. My sim card is active for GPRS an mms but I do not known how to set the xda ii update. I've call Vodafone but all I get from them is we don't support the XDA II.
Please help.
Luigi
You need to define the GPRS APN in Work Connections first.
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
User: [email protected]
Pass: user
Then in the MMS client say connect using Work Connections, and set up the settings.
Gateway: 212.183.137.012
Server address: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

Vodafone MMS Settings
Hi
here are the setting for the Vodafone MMS
Go to settings>Connections>Connections>My Work Network.
If you have an exsiste connection edit it if you do not make one.
Put this settings in they:
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
User Name: [email protected]
Password: user
When you done this you have to go to messaging and go to:
Menu>MMS Configuration>Servers
If you find a server in they edit it if not creat one.
In they put this settings:
Gateway: 212.183.137.012
Port Number: 9201
Server Address: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
Connect Via: My work Network
After that close the servers an tap on set As Default.
If by any chance it does not work change the gateway to this:
212.183.137.12
Hope this well help you.
Ciao

this has worked, thanks
I have unlocked my M600 thanks to the great instructions on the site and am now using my Vodafone sim. However, all GPRS settings on the phone are still set to orange as are the MMS settings. I have tried changing them all manually (very longwinded) and can manage to get internet access using GPRS but I cannot get MMS to work! Can anyone shed any light on this for me please.
Regards
Lynette

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately I still can't get MMS to work. I think the problem is that I don't know how to create the mms server. On the MMS settings it has the OrangeMMS server and if I go to the details of that it says connect via OrangeMMS but I can't find the settings for that anywhere. On my friends vodafone it says connect via default server.

If anybody his using an unlocked Orange SPV C500 on T-Mobile UK could they message me. I can get the phone and SMS, GPRS Internet browsing to work but having problems with SMS. If I use the settings T-Mobile suggests (IP and Port) SMS works but not MMS; if I user another set of settings (IP and Ports) then MMS works but SMS does not get texts spontaneously only on reboot; T-Mobile have run out of ideas as not one of their phones.
Seems need to configure in the MMS section, the GPRS section and ?the Proxy section but getting confused as T-Mobile talk about Proxy and Ports but that can be entered in multiple places.[Current below]
Do I need to interface into WAP and if so how? Do I need to link to MMS networking which T-mobile seem to say I do not need to.
thanks
Paul

Do you have these settings set as follows?:
Server name: AT&T MMS
Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com/
Connect via: MEdia Net
Then, check your MEdia Net settings:
Connects From: The Internet
Connects To: WAP network
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com:80
Type: HTTP
Username: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
see this AT&T forums thread
Hope this helps.
.nevermind.
mms fix
Please post to links for users to try thanks.
For those who can't receive at&t mms:
I used the PR MMS MediaNet settings tool available on XDA
Go to Settings>Connections>Connections
Delete all data connections before running the tool
Use the device Network Setup Tool to make your primary connection.
Run the PR MediaNet MMS tool to set the size limites
After setting up the connection create a new connection in com manager
Use Work Connection
Use these settings
Connection Cellular GRPS 3G
Name I used MediaNet No Proxy
APN wap.cingular
Username [email protected]
Passwork CINGULAR1
Do not use the proxy settings for this
Have all internet applications go to this connection do that in your com manager
Go into your mms options in messaging click servers click at&t mms make sure MediaNet is still the connection for send/receive mms
now it will send receive mms using the at&t proxy and the internet for other apps without the proxy
