The easaiest way is to visit
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
choose the 2003 Rom that suits you best - country etc.
add the programs that you want and cook a Rom to an .exe file.
Copy all your network settings down to paper.
Then run and install the new Rom and then replace all your settings.
It really is very straight forward I managed it and I am not overly technical.

WM5 not showing "free space left" installing cabs

Hi !!
After updating to the last official wm5 rom ... I see that wm never shows free space left when i try to install any cab ... is there any way to restore that feature ?? any config file ?? or registry hack ??
Please any help would be great !
See U!
no answers well isnt something that is happening to every body ?!?
See U!
cannot find where is the problem
it's default
no, WM5 doesn't show free space when installing software. that's the default from the factory i think. it's not a problem 'cause that's how WM5 was made.
no thats not true ... last version before this one show free space .... and also wm2003 ... and my acer pda with wm5 also show free space .... so this is a problem with this rom update ....
any idea ??
Have anyone solved this? I have the same - it doesn't show free space on both storage devices during installation after updating to official RUS 2.20.7.35 firmware.

Not possible without ROM upgrade, as poutlook is an integral part of Windows Mobile OS. its not a standalone component.

[Q] Does anybody have the original imate pocket pc rom?

I wanted to downgrade my pocket pc os to it's original rom because the windows mobile 5 does not have a transcriber.thanks
Hello nfstanton,
I don't have any i-Mate ROMs, but would be willing to search if I know more about what you need. I bet the following information might help others want to help you...
Could you list the model name or number of your i-Mate?
Are you trying to downgrade to 2003 or 2002? With or without phone? What language ROM?
Any chance you know the ROM version number that you want?
Wishing you success.
ph10b windows mobile 2003..thanks
LOL - I see that is a hard to find ROM... HTC Worldwide doesn't even list the Himalaya on their Support page anymore. Other resources I checked don't have it in repository either.
One quick fix may be to Download the install package for Transcriber direct from M$. It is listed for WM 2002, but may work under WM 5.

They have it in English, French and German...
Or
Here on xda I found an "All Himalaya WM 6.x ROMs" thread by user maggie
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379017
Lots of ROMs in multiple languages to choose from...
Some of the links might still be good... Maybe an Upgrade instead of a Downgrade??? Especially since WM 2003 is next to be phased out of support by M$.
P.S.: I'll still poke around looking for the WM 2003 a bit... Post back if either option above solves your problem so I don't keep searching needlessly.
Here is a Blog with info and working download link for a cooked version of WM2003 ROM which installs on all Himalaya... (It appears to be an English Language ROM)
http://softdown-guddu.blogspot.com/2009/09/alpine-wm2003-rom-11100-wwe.html
Another xda thread: "Genuine English WM2003 SE upgrade for Himalaya uploaded here"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=230279
Note that the files are attachments in the Original Post so you must be logged on to see them - if that doesn't work you may need 8 posts for full link status...
And a working download link for "himalaya_wm2003se_upgrade"
http://www.4shared.com/file/Z9RZUIFQ/himalaya_wm2003se_upgrade.html
That's all from me unless you post back that you need more help.
Best of Luck,
RumoredNow
Thanks
Thank You VERY MUCH for helping me You're like a angel sent from above i will never forget you
Yay!!!!
I'm glad you found an answer. Honestly, that post made my day. Thanks Bro.
There's a little problem
I'm having difficulty changing the operator in the WM2003 nbk and radio files..it says that i have to use command prompt and enter the words in the instructions so i entered them and it says that it doesn't recognize the syntax...How do you really change the operator ID of the ROM? Please elaborate the steps..if you can. Thanks
I'm honestly not up to speed on Radio Stacks... There is a large group of threads for your device here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=243
Or maybe try the xda wiki pages?
