I would like to ask
How to disable the Protection of Extenede Rom of XdaII?
Now it is protected, just allow to read, but can't either delete or write.

Since when is read-only? Weird, you're saying that registry hack openf Extended ROM but you can't move files from it?
Yes. We just can view the content, copy it to desktop.
BUT We CANNOT Delete, Write or Overwrite the content in it.
How can?
That's really weird. My EXtended ROM is fully accessable, read/write/delete without any hacks.
I got the same problem. just recieved my i-mate from expansys.us and i can't write to the extended rom area.
Here is my info.
MDA II
ROM - 1.03.00 USA
Rom Date - 09/24/03
Radio-Version - 1.05.12
Protocol - 1337.12

Maybe it's an issue with MDA IIs.
I can read/write/etc fine to my i-Mate's Extended_ROM. I have my own customized startup after a hard reset.

mine is not MDA II its an I-mate that i got from expansys.us. it says i-mate on it and it looks like i-mate not MDA II. weird. may be i should run a compare on the registry of the ones that work and the ones that don't. can somebody with a working extended rom post your registry file export so i can compare it to mine.
ID64 do u have XDA II or I-mate? is urs O2?

use any registry viewing program to export ur registry and post it. although i got a reply from somebody else saying that registry was already compared and nothing was there.

Where can I get the latest ROM of PPC2003?
I currently have the latest offering from O2 in the form of the PPC2002 ROM 3.17.03 ENG with Radio version 4.21.00.
I REALLY want to get the 2003 latest ROM, and also can the protocol version be updated, never see it mentioned?
I have tried yorch.net, but it never cooks the ROM for me, gets to coping ROM files and then I get a page error, tried it on a few PC's. None worked.
Jeff's site is down the this site only has a DEMO kitchen.
PLEASE DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD THE LATEST 2003 ROM FOR THE O2 XDA (IRELAND)

You have to extract the file using zip and only use the nk.nbf file.
The exe files also includes the RSU Upgrade, but only for US-Users...
This is the newest englisch WM2003 ROM (4.01.00)

Downloading that file now, so I just extract the ROM image and not the RSU and I'm sorted. Radio Version 4.21.00 from O2 is the latest then is that correct?
What about the protocol version, can that be updated?
Also one last thing, anyone use the XDA for MMS with O2 in Ireland?
Any solutions or best idea what program to use.
EzWAP 2.5 for Xda from yorch.net is the only tool to do mms on xda1 i've come across
also i asume that mms programs the same everywhere

In the German ROM WM2003 4.00.33 there is an MMS-Client from T-mobile included. But i never tested it.
If someone needs it, i can send the cab-file...

Lose the T-Mobile Stuff.
Is there any ROM that does'nt have all that T-Mobile stuff on it, if not how can I get the ROM to be generic, and lose all the stuff.

You can extract all the operator settings with the ROM tools and you get an "empty" ROM.
(bash setup.sh)

Would it help anyone if I posted the XDAIIi Rom for O2? Can we make this work with the XDAII? THe guide says no but can it be hacked?

as far as i know rom are 100% hardware platform spc
and since xda1 2 IIi and IIs dont share hardware platform
the only thing you can use are whats in the exteneted rom
of the 3 last
being that xda1 dont have an extented rom
The files I mentioned above have been put on the FTP site...

Try the I-mate ftp site.
For this follow the wiki link for the BlueAngel, go to the avlible roms page, at the bottom is a link for the ftp site of I-mate.

Update to the newer O2 ROM but use Pugs update version as this includes the newer Radio ROM version too

This upgrade will error the first time you try, but it works on the second time.

I was given an I mate PH10B PPC Phone.
Darn thing has a beta OS on it. I see the link for Imates FTP site but I have no clue what files to download. I have nothing critical on this PPC so data is a non issue.
Im a total newbe all I know so far is the OS is a ROM and I can put the device in serial/usb mode. Thats all I know so far.

I just switched for O2 Atom to Dopod 810, but I still like the O2 Plus today screen setup very much.
I came across an O2 Plus cracked file that can be use on WM5-Dopod device, but I can't seem to find the file in the forum. Can anyone help pls?
Would it cause corruption to the programs in Dopod?

fwiw.., I installed O2 Plus and O2 SMS Plus in my Dopod 838pro, and works fine.
search in xda forum you'll find O2 Plus cab.
anyway.., I was using O2 Atom too, before using this 838Pro.
