Wlan Sniffer for Sandisk SDIO Card? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi,
i´m searching for a wlansniffer for the mda-2 ppc2003 device.
I know that cirond pocketWiNC works, but it has no gps support.
Ministumbler (www.netstumbler.com) doesn´t work because it only works on orinico oem cards an the sandisk is a prism3 based card.
Pocketwarroir.org ... normal has to work .. but i based ob pcap which is only functional on ppc2002 devices.
The stable version ob pw starts on the device but don´t find the card .. the unstable doesn´t start.

SD I/O problem

Hi all,
Following problem:
- Qtek 2020 (or 2020i), combined with a SD-card , TomTom Navigator 5 and own software
1. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, TomTom 5
2. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, own software
3. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, TomTom 5 and own software ONLY WHEN THE SD-card is slow (less then 40x)
We tested much different SD-card with different chipsets and only the real slow cardtypes work. The problem is that those cards aren't available anymore on the market, so we are looking for a solution to slow-down the SD I/O speed to the card.
How can this be done in Windows Mobile 2003 (se)??
Thanks for any solution or tricks to solve this problem!
Sam
I assume, the cause with the telephone.
Please once TT starts and uses the telephone. TT will freeze.
My alpine used to freeze when a call or text message was received whilst an SD card was inserted.
After upgrading the Radio rom from 1.00 to 1.04, this problem ceased. What version of radio ROM is on your alpine? If it is not 1.04 then this may help.
I use also the version 1.04

SDHC card patch

Does anyone have a SHDC to try on BA?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344338
http://www.newsalloy.com/feed/170639/
SDHC card patch (Freeware)
Requirements: Windows Mobile 6 PocketPC (not yet tested with other WindowsMobile version)
Overview: Patch for PPC running WM6 for reading 2,4,8 GB SDC cards. This patch allows you to use 2,4,8 GB SDHC cards in your WM6 PPC.
What is SDHC?
SD High Capacity (SDHC) card is the new SD™ memory card based on the SDA
2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association. This new SDA 2.00
specification enables SD cards to reach higher capacities - 4GB-32GB*.
Because SDHC works differently then standard SD cards, this new format is not
backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.
More SDHC compatible devices are expected to be available in the second half of 2006.
To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on cards and host devices (cameras,
camcorders, etc.)
Compatibility with SDHC 4GB:
4GB SDHC cards can only work with SDHC compatible host
devices. To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on
the packaging. Please check with your device manufacturer
for their current/future supported SDHC devices.
Tested on Loox n520 and working
It doesn't work on BA.
first you must copy paste the two dlls, then install the certs.cab, then the sdhc.cab.
Have you done this?

Have you try it?
I tried 2 months ago but no luck on BA
Would try it if I can (if I have a SHDC card), here's the readme.txt:
SDHC Driver
1) Install SDHC.cab
2) Overwrite /Windows sdbus.dll sdmemory.dll
3) Install Certs.cab
Soft reset.
isn't working on BA; i try to find a sdbus.dll in our Windows to compare with the new one, but all we have is SDBusDriver.dll
Another person googled sth on the internet and posting without checking? How many times we will have threads like this one?
really, you can check it on your own: all you get at the end is loosing access to the card (SDHC and nonHC).
So please, give us all a break - I've seen this at least 10 times on different BA forums.
Mate,
I've just found the sdbus.dll (as well as sdmemory.dll), in my O2 XDA Orbit with a factory-installed WM6. All I did was to use Resco Explorer 2007 to search for it in My Device\Windows and they are there.
That said, this is as far as I can take it 'cos they say it's not Artemis-specific. I agree, it's best to wait for the gurus to come up with a CAB. That way, we'd know for sure that it would work.
kiwi992.
So if you talking about artemis, what the hell it has to do with BlueAngel???
Hey,
WM6 is WM6, right?
The patch is for ANY device running Windows Mobile 6. I mean any - read the posting on this. We are not talking about iPhone vs Blue Angel which run on totally different operating systems.
Other than operator specific settings, I didn't think that the sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll in the devices running WM6 (in this case), would be different from one another, or would they?
If they were, why is it that other devices running WM6, such as Eten, Loox, Artemis, etc have had their owners report that they had successfully installed the SDHC patch and that they are now able to use microSDHC cards?
So there, that's what it's got to do with Blue Angel. Different devices but they both run WM6 in this instance.
kiwi992.
The problem is that BlueAngel is a totally different device, that was never planned to work with WM5/6 and what we have here (WM5/6 ROMs) are effect of very hard work of developers such as Helmi, Xplode and Baniaczek (and others), to use half working leaked version of WM5 rom on BA to provide us with usable WM5 and WM6. Still most drivers are specific to BA, because of very... specific contruction of the device and most drivers not wrtitten especially for BA won't work - we know this already. For WM6 we have the old WM5 driver that had been bolted on (using hammer) in WM6, to provide us with SD support. You cannot just exchange it like this.
Knowing this and reading every 2 weeks information "I have it! I have IT! please check this out, and abracadabra SDHC will work finally" that is posted here and there without even testing... it just like some noobs asking all over again about "my device is turning on every 5 minutes when i have Bluetooth turned on".
So I just I ask, no... I BEG you - please test it on your own before posting again some news wbout SDHC support for BA. If don't have SDHC card, "update" your driver and try to read normal SD.
I know this is doable, but it cannot be just some files copied from different device - somebody will have to still the source code from HTC or disassemble the driver and modify it. Really - it's not so easy.
PS: your font has some problems - did you enlarge it on purpose?
Hi Mr_ding you said tahat you have Tested on Loox n520 and works.but is there any problem with the wifi conection after that. I read in other post that on Loox N560 this was a very big problem, I have a N560 so in case a install the patch will I have the same problem?

On some of the new universal wm6 roms incorporating the sdhc card drivers, I noticed that if you set the driver to sdhc/sd, your normal sd will not be seen until you set it to sd and reboot. Maybe that is what is happening. That when we install the sdhc driver it overwrites the normal sd driver and the new driver cannot read the normal sd. May be we need to have a way of switching between the two drivers. Has anyone actuall tested an sdhc card after installing the sdhc driver?
Sorry for my English. I made some tests with sdhc drivers from universal but with no success. I also can't find valid driver for PXA 26x. I know that exist drivers for PXA 27x ,but this drivers simple not working on our BA.
Is there anything peculiar to the PXA 26x processor that makes it significantly different from the PXA 27x architecture?

sd card problem

When i tried to run application directly from my sd card (2Gb apache), I found that the application loads extremely slower than before.
I tried with another sd card (2Gb toshiba) and the result is still the same. These wouldn't happen if those files running from phone.
Any idea to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
PS. I just flash my BA (xda iis) from wm2003se to Helmi Windows Mobile 6 Profesional R0 CE OS 5.2.1620 and sorry for my poor language.
Yes, there is easy way: chanche the device many WM devices seem to have very slow SD card access (between 50 and 200kb/s, even though card is capable to deliver data up to 5MB/s). BA is not different here.

PSIDOC_SDHC.CAB... 16GB SDHC (Tested) install .cab file for ALL UNIVERSAL WM5 Roms

Following on from bennyyen's excellent work in getting 8GB SDHC cards working on WM5 without breaking anything else, including the WIFI, which was the biggest problem.
I have made an install .cab file for those that want to keep with their existing WM5 rom but want full Sdhc support. We now have reports of 16GB SDHC cards being fully functional as well.
I have noticed that my AData card does go to sleep and not wake up, so has to be reinserted every now and again but I think that is just the card as it did this with WM6 (It was cheap).
Please if you try this .cab can you report back your experiences on weather it's working 100%, not working for you (please include rom details) or you have to re-insert the card from time to time. Also please add your SDHC Card details so we can see which works and which has problems.
Thanks.
Psi
PS: Please remember this is Bennyyen's work so huge thanks to him. I just packaged it for general use.
I have tested this cab with KDSkamal's fw and a generic 16GB SDHC.
Opening this in system--> memory the qtek sees all of my 16GB.
I have tried copying 4GB (all that I have free ftm) of files forth and back. Works like a charm!
Have also tried a bit of surfing over WPA, works just as well. Have not tried GPRS, but everything else looks fine so far.
Thank you PsiDOC for your work on this! (I know you might not think this is much, but it is to me)
It works! Yaay!
Many thanks for the feedback Verbato. Really nice to see that a 16GB card is working well
Please remember this is bennyyen's work. I just made the .cab file, so it is him who deserves the thanks also.

Well done! I'm more than happy with the standard WM5 ROM on my JasJar. All I (and many others) wanted was SDHC support. This is exactly what I was looking for.
I have no SDHC cards yet , but I will report back as soon as I get one.
Can you tell me if this cab can be uninstalled ("removed") in case it doesn't work?
Thanks again! And Great work!
PS: I've come across this SD_Setting cab, suggested here - "http://jay-joshi.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!851D717EDFF14CEC!3194.entry" . What do you think ?
Yes it can be removed, however you'll not want to as it works.

PsiDOC, Bennyyen - thanks a milllion guys!!!! Tested this on PsiDOC WM5 Matrix ROM with Mymemory SDHC 8GB card - works very well. Waking up from sleep without any problems. Also tested a few of SD cards - they work OK but don't wake up from the sleep. I don't really care about SD with SDHC working just added this for completness.
PsiDOC,
I've tried to re-cook your Matrix ROM with 3 dlls SD*.dll from Bennyyen's ROM - by some reason my SDHC was not recognised with this. It does only when I install your package. Have you by any chance tried to add them into your ROM directly?
Yes I have added them but I cannot test as my USB cable seems to be damaged so I can't get the Exec to talk to the PC. I never release untested roms, hence it's still here on my PC.
Oh by the way it's only the 2 files that are needed. SDBus.dll and SDMemory.dll. Use the original SDHC.dll from my rom and it'll work if you cook the others in.
Interesting that you have SD Cards not waking up. My Kingston 1GB and SanDisk 2GB are 100% fine. Which SD Cards are you using?

Thanks - will try this evening. May be the way I'm adding them is wrong - the SDBus.dll from the Bennyyen's ROM was not in a directory (I use the HyperCore kitchen) so I placed it in the missing files folder. Will try to create a separate package tonight.

Same brand as my SDHC :-( - MyMemory (http://www.mymemory.co.uk ) 4GB SD card. Worked absolutely fine with O2 original ROM. My guess would be that it is probably due to the weirdness of the card - 4GB SD was not ever part of the SD standard.
Thanks for the help

It is not waking up in a sense that none of the folders on a card is accessible and none of the files is writeable until I re-insert the card.

I was premature to report my success with MyMemory SDHC 8GB card - http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/MyMemory/4GB/SDHC/Card/-/Class/4
Unlike the SD card, if the Universal turned off and on (with power button) it does work and wakes up correctly. But if left off for a while (> 15 mins) it does not wake up again with the same symptoms as usual (folders and files are not accessible) and the card has to be re-inserted. This is a major annoyance since on earlier WM5 ROMs the SD at least was working ok and waking up fine. Can somebody report what's happening with their brands of SDHC cards if left to sleep for a while?

Hello PsiDoc and ALL!
I have been looking for a SDHC driver to get my 8gb SanDisk Ultra II (Class 4) working. My phone is the Treo 700 WX with Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0 OS 5.1.195 (Build 14932.2.2.2).
I tried the PsiDOC.cab, but with no luck. I basically hard reset the whole phone. From that point it reads my SanDisk 2.0GB (non-SDHC) card fine, so I install the PsiDOC.cab, it reboots, then I can not see any cards. I have the 2 cards I mentioned above plus a PNY 2GB Optima Pro SD (133x), and a SanDisk 4GB Extreme III SDHC (Class 6). All of them are not recognized with PsiDoc.cab.
I do have an SDHC driver I got from somewhere that let's me see the first 4 gigs of either the Class 4 or Class 6 cards I have; but of course I would love to see it all! This SDHC.cab driver has a contains of :

Thanks,

Thank you MHildebrand. Sorry it doesn't work.
I thought this may be XDA Exec specific as the files are unlike any I have seen. You've confirmed my suspicions.

well done ,PsiDOC ,this patch is very usefull

For all those whoose cards worked with this patch without any wireless problems - guys please report the ROMs, brands of the cards and the sizes.
My card does not wake up properly so here's my report:
O2 XDA Exec with PsiDOC Matrix ROM,
MyMemory (http://www.mymemory.co.uk) SDHC 8GB card
Does not wake up from sleep - directories and files are not accessible.
I'm looking for a card brand that will work with this patch on my ROM

I've tested a few configurations and it appears that whether this works really depends on a ROM. I've tried this CAB with official O2 ROM and now both my cards are fine and working properly - both waking from sleep. It seems that all this has to do with the work of the SDHC.dll (secure digital host controller) since this what was different in O2 ROM.
Unfortunately, when added to PsiDOC Matrix ROM from O2 this dll breaks a lot of different things so it can't be used as is. I guess I'm stuck with the O2 ROM for now until the situation improves.
After those experiments it appears to me that SDHC implementation is hardware dependent in that sense that there might be slight differences in HTC Universal hardwares - for some reason the SDHC in the newer systems like T-Mob 3.3 ROM do not work as stable on my O2 Uni even with SD cards.
every body can test this rom:
http://218.93.115.138/d900/wm5
this verison based on official aku3.3 ROM, no standy waken up problem , no wifi broken problem, support 16G SDHC card........
or ,u can dump this ROM ,find and copy the files "sdhc.dll" "sdbus.dll" "sdmemory.dll" ,then rebuild in PsiDOC Matrix ROM.
enjoy
