I have been using the Developers 1.2 Rom for a few months on my old XDA and I loved it. One of my favourite features was jog button as it allowed you to run any application (in my case an excel file). I have tried to load up Jog Button on my XDA II but it seems to hang. Is anyone else using it ok on an XDA II, or does anyone know of an app which allows you to map an excel file (rather than excel) directly to a button.
Thx
ButtonPlus 3 from http://www.yorch.net/ Thanks Yorch - keep up the good work.
Hi Thanks for the info, I will give it a try
Hmmm, I found Button Plus 2 and tried that, but it seems to suffer from inconsistent locking up. I also couldn't figure out how to link directly to a file rather than an app, but that's probably because I am stupid. Are others using Button Plus 2 ok with an XDA II?

last question 8)
I have an XDA IIi and the clock is missing ,it only shows the volume and the phone Icons at top of the device, do you think this is normal on the device??, or if there is a way to fix this

Have you tried ftxp browser, the wm2003 version is freely downloadable, there are several things to be added but its worth a look.
Just copy it to your pocket pc.

This is due to the software installed by o2 during the initial install. There are LOTS of posts on various ways to bypass this if you search for them. There are two main ways: registry hack or complete removal of the o2active software.
I for one have posted on a detailed way of doing the second of these, but for the first option go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16580&highlight=2i+clock+registry
and look for shanedean's second post. It references the issue and directs you to tekguru's site to perform the registry hack. You will need a PPC registry editor to do it.

Hi guys, really informative website, been using it for a long while, but so far never needed to make a post. here is my problem. I am currently using o2 xda exec's for my business, but need to lock down some of the pda's functions and controls. I am currently using mobicontrol (can anyone else recommend a better "lockdown" program), it works sufficiently well but there are a couple of security loops i've noticed. On the keyboard the bindings for the outlook, i.e and wireless manager are still active. I've had a little look around the registry settings to see if i can disable the key mappings but so far i havent had any luck. I was wondering if it would be possible to disable these buttons, seeing as these are the only way to circumvent the mobicontrol lock down program.
your help would be much appreciated,
thanks,
Nick

Freeware programs: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php
Regarding hard reset its: Power + comm + camera then press reset.
thankyou for solving my problems
but still got 1 left
where can i get the chinese rom for o2 xda neo ??
and also i have a 2gb SD card in my o2 xda neo
so i put some music in it, but cant seem to assign it to be my ringtone??
and where can i turn off the sound for making the click noise when i press start menu
For sounds from SD to be used as ring-tones, they must be in the root of the card, but I don't recommend it as they take long time to load so you will miss 3-4 rings (more if it's a big file) before your phone goes off. Also it tends to disconnect the SD when in standby to save power so sometimes you get the default ring instead.
As for clicks, got to Start->Settings->Sounds and Notifications. There are check boxes there for screen taps, system events etc.
No idea as to where to get Chinese ROM.
i did the screen taps on the sound notification but still makes the noise when i click start
still lookin for the chinese rom/language pack
other than that my o2 xda neo is good
where can i get themes for o2 xda neo ??
thanks

It is system event, not screen taps.

I was thinking about some annoying things about the Wizard and was wondering if anyone knew of a program that would let you re-assign button combinations for system shortcuts?
Like the Align screen. If you play emulators you probably know what I mean. Or the Run shortcut, pressing the enter key and holding the stylus on the clock is not worth it, but hold Windows key and hit "r" would be nice.
Anyone know of a program that will allow you to do this?
Or any Programming masters want to take this up?
PQz should allow you to do most of that stuff (eg windows key + r = run, I think).
Regarding the align screen, I've written VJCalibrula to disable that, but I've also written another tool to allow you to reassign most of the hardware assigned keyboard apps, eg reassign internet explorer combo, filexplorer combo, on the Hermes the video key etc. Also reassign the wired headset button to launch any app.
I could probably also write an app activated by the light sensor, but didn't think there was much point!
I'm going to try to build an app around the idea and release eventually.

Vijay555 I was kinda hoping you would see this do you know though if any of these work on the Wizard?
I tried VJCalibrula but the program didn't execute. Unless you have created an update since I last tried.
I did an updated VJCalibrula for your 2.26 rom, which one of your brethren tested and said it worked. Ergo:
Please test -
http://www.vijay555.com/vj/releases/vjcalibrula/vjcalibrulawizard.exe
However, to get some feedback if it worked, make a shortcut to the .exe and run with the command line -debug to get info.
The new unnamed app should work on pretty much every keyboard device, although I don't have a wizard and it really holds back my testing. VJVolubilis still can't be finalised because of this... one day
I'm still wondering how to present the final of VJ[...] button app. I'm using a rough and ready version for now, but I'll try to implement some kind of GUI eventually.
Ask me in a week or so and I'll try to send you an alpha if you want.

VJCalibrula does NOT work on the HTC Wizard (or at least my Cingular 8125). I am DYING for a release, as this Capcom emulator is freaking sweet, but this align screen nonsense is beyond annoying.
Please help!!

aNiMeMaN14 what ROM are you using? vijay said that he configured it for the 2.26 rom.
anyway works great for me. Thanks vijay!!
Guys I've rewritten VJCalibrula and VJUzumaki to work on (hopefully!) any HTC device now. I'm going to be doing a bit more testing prior to release though. Glad the current versions work.

Hi,
I am new to the XDA Universal, and my technical knowledge is quite limited. Apologies if this has been posted before. My search came up inconclusive.
I use my XDA for browsing the internet using IE and Opera Mini, it used to work fine, but recently I cannot use any website that requires me to type something in fields, i.e. sign into Gmail through IE or Opera Mini. When I click the box to put in the username, the keyboard/keypad comes up but the keystrokes do not register in the fields and the XDA starts to hang and then I cannot go to any other website, every other software slows down and I have to press the reset button.
Can anyone help me on this please? As my XDA is currently 75% useless to me right now.
P.s. I am WM6 OS 5.2.318 (Build 15341.0.0.0)
Thanks in advance!
hard reset
hi there,
you might want to try a hard reset just to make sure its a software not a hardware problem. if problem still insists try flashing the official ROM. If the problem is still there, than you might want to consider to repair or buy a new devices since it is a harware problem
