Unlocking XDA 11 - ANy news yet? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Any news yet about locking XDA 11? Many thanks

Please, xda-developers, can you do on it the same as for the xda 1 ????
When my XDA II was bought in London, I was told by O2 , that I'll get my unlock code for 15 £ , and now , they said no !!!!! Crazy ...
If I can't get this code, I'll have to BUY a phone ...
So, HELP ? please ....S.O.S...

I contacted Dixons at Heathrow, where I bought mine and they gave me the number! This was done yesterday! You could try calling there. Obviously they have dealt with this situation a number of times... O2 are a bunch of idiots. I called them at least 5 times only to get a negative answer and without any advice...
Good Luck!

XDA2 Unlocking
Thanks for this!. I also have tried 02 several times but have not been as lucky as others on the Forum - yes, they really are a confused bunch. As I am moving to Spain next week I need to unlock soon to hook up to Vodafone in Spain. WIll try Dixons - fingers crossed...!

Sadly Dixons won't play ball and neither will o2! :-(

XDA II has been Discontinued in the UK

After waiting for 2 weeks for delivery of an XDA II (Insurance claim) I emailed the company I brought it from! And to my Suprise and Delight they sent me this
Dear Mr Collins
Thank you for your e-mail.
I apologise for the delay in despatching your O2 XDAII, however we have had stock issues with this handset and now they have been discontinued and we will not be getting any more in again. However next week we are expecting to recieve the XDAIIS handsets, which we will be able to send to you asap. I anticipate delivery will be for mid to end of next week.

o2 XDA2i on Staff Accounts

Does anyone know any real information on this...
I've got a 2 on an o2 staff accounts package, and I called eagerly on Monday to arrange for a new 2i to be sent to me. I was told "no, sorry it will be launched tomorrow. Please call back then". So, I did and when I rang the first time "no sorry I don't think we're going to have them on Staff Accounts". I rang again "they're not on our pricelist at the moment for Feb, but it might be updated later in the day. Call back then". I did, to be told "probably won't be doing 2i's on SAccounts, but maybe will be later in the month so keep trying".
I was told at one point that if I go into an o2 shop with an o2 employee with their EIN and ask for one there, I might have some joy. I decided to ring the o2 shop in York but depite trying 3 - 4 times for over 2 mins I didn't get an answer.
Can anyone tell me what the situation is, what they've heard on the gripevine etc? I'm getting a bit sick of this as I was really looking forward to upgrading.
Cheers
Anthony
My girlfriend works for o2 and got told she can buy one XDA IIi non-locked for £160 as a staff deal she doesnt want one.... but I do
I did manage to get one through SA last week and so it's sorted, for £179.99....
...unfortunately the idiots then decided to reduce the o2 online shop price to exactly the same amount. Sooooo.....the staff discount and upgrade from XDA2 benefit would be what???
I've complained to the lovely people at SA regarding this as it's just not on...especially considering I had to wait nearly 2 weeks to order through them in the first place.
Cheers
Anthony

I work for O2 in the Hertford store. I want a Xda IIi but didn't realise there was a staff deal, like when the Xda II was offered at £150 SIM free when it was released.
Could you ask your girlfriend to email me with the details, please? My work address is [email protected]

Ben
Could you please mail details me too? [email protected]

Thank you anyway for a light at the end of tunel!
umm... isnt it ugly to charge for it?
the unlock for xda1/2 was for free, now your trying to make money off unlocking the phone - like the providers?

Can the Exec be unlocked????

I am very impressed with what you guys are doing...a real credit to the world of pda's. I am pleased to say that i have manged to unlock my xda lls, but i have just got a xda exec, and was wondering is there any way to unlock it rather than having to ring o2 to do it???
What makes you think it's locked?
If you read these forums you'll find that all O2 Execs sold so far don't have a SIM lock. Have you tried another SIM in your phone? It should work.
@Rolexx,
welcome. Are you sure your Exec is locked? Which network are you trying to use in which country? My Exec, purchased two weeks ago, is not locked.
Sorry to ask such basic questions
Right about now i feel like the blond that rang up pc support to complain about her computer not working and the first question they asked her was, is it plugged in??? To which she replied "ooops".
I just checked#, and it works. I think it was cos i automatically assumed it didnt. Sorry guys/girls....
lmao
hahaah coool..
strange you ask it without testing though ... i myself would always check first haha
this one was one of the best around here !
thanks for it

Hi... i have Vodafone V1640 but i need unlock it..
Please Help me.. hdow i do this unlock ?????
Your options at the moment are to either contact vodaphone, send your phone off to IMEI check (£60+shipping), contact motin here on the forum (£40 and no need to send off your phone) or wait until buzz can crack the unlock (check the unlocking thread in the universal upgrading forum for details on how this is progressing)
EDIT: Just checked this myself and its looking like buzz has done it, just packaging it all up into a user friendly tool bofore handing it out.

Hi Thanks for reply and help..
But who do £40 unlock VODAFONE v1640 ??

£40 unlock from Motin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=286119
As for Buzz, it a just wait and see when he releases the unlock porgram, there's a long running thread in the Universal upgrading forum, and when its ready I'm pretty sure it will hit the front page news section.

I submitted a request, and they said it will take up to six weeks as well. At least it's free! But I wonder whether it actually takes six weeks to get hold of the code for me or whether they're just keeping me as their customer for another 6 six weeks?
Strange I called vodafone last Thursday and they said it would take 7 to 10 days?? I hope for there sake (been with them for 5 years!) it dont take longer as I want to sell my universal next week
