The problem is - everytime when it downloading data with GPRS connection, my xda2 will not receive any phone call(it forwarded to my voice mailbox). However when I just leave the GPRS connection on but do nothing, I can receive phone call.
Someone told me that all of the XDA2 he tried has this problem, I believe it is a bug in the Radio firmware.
And this problem is confirmed by other XDA2 users live in Hong Kong.
I hope those use IMATE or MDA II can check this problem too.
Thanks.

Hi All,
I'm using an Q2 XDAII mini.
I find that when I am connected to GPRS and I am downloading a web page, ie. data is being transmitted through the GPRS link, incoming voice calls will get rejected.
However, once the web page download is complete and the GPRS link is idle, an incoming voice call comes through fine.
My previous phone was a SE P900 and if a call came in while I was actively downloading data, the phone would prompt me and ask if I wanted to drop the GPRS connection - that was great!
I know that this is an issue with the XDA as it is a Class B mobile. I wanted to know if others have had this issue and if there are any updates/patches/hacks out there that could get around this.
Thanks
Hi All,
Any ideas ?
Same problem. Any workaround or patches ?

Hi everyone,
I am having an annoying issue with the GPRS connection on my Qtek S100.
I am usually connected through GPRS to receive my email and to be online with MSN Messenger. The only time I do not use GPRS is when connecting through Active Sync or when making/receiving a call. My problem is that if I do not explicitly end the GPRS connection before making a call or connecting through active sync I have to restart the phone by going to flight mode before I am able to get a new GPRS connection. The problem is even worse with incoming calls as I can not end the GPRS connection by pressing the red button before I answer the call as that will hang up on the person calling me instead.
I believe it got this way after applying the latest software upgrade from www.qtek.se.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
yes me to.. also after latest upgrade...
dont know what to do.. im gonna call brightpoint..
I've sent you a PM.
Let me know when you have spoken to Brightpoint and I will call them again.
Any news regarding this?
I do also have these problems with GPRS.
Works fine for me…
Hi,
I have up till now used Telia but just switched over to Comviq, works fine for med, both with Telia and Comviq.

Talked to Brightpoint today.
It seems like not everyone gets this problem, and to their knowledge none of their own phones has it. They did however hope for a solution with the next software update (no news on when that will be available though). They also asked me to contact Engström Telecom to find out if they had any idea. When I found time to call Engström they had closed for the week, so I'll get back with more info next week.
I had a slight variation on this problem. GPRS session was actively downloading data when a call came in, and then before I could answer it, a message came up saying that the call could not be answered. What's that all about?

My problem seems to have automatically cured itself during the weekend. I guess Telia must have made some upgrade to their network, cause I am quite sure I didn't do anything!
Hello everybody!!!
Can you help me please?
I have Siemens SX56, i bought it at ebay and unlocked by myself.
Is it possible to make a calls and stay online in the GPRS in the same time???
Usualy i can use GPRS or make a calls separated, not together....
Tell me please is it possible to upgrade GPRS for higher version???
How can i do that????
Please...
looking forward to hearing any messages of you,
Vadim.
The device only has one radio in it. It can either be making a phone call or it can connect to the internet, but not both at the same time.

i never had any issues recieving calls when being online with gprs they dont block eachother unless the operator make it so
Same here, I was on Tesco internet last night, received a call and the gprs internet stayed connected ok.
I have this problem:
When i have an active GPRS sessión, and downloading email, or a PIE web page, o my PUSH-EMAIL is syncing with the exchange server, in that exactly moment my qtek 9100 CAN´T receive voice calls, and any incoming voice call is forwarded to the voice-mail (if active) or the caller hear the operator "off or out of range phone" message.
My Qtek is a Free-Spanish-9100 2.18 ROM (MOVISTAR operator SIM), with Radio 2.07.10 (also have tried the 2.25.11 Radio with the same issue)
I have many lost calls because this issue
Anything to do with this ?
dont know if this could help but have u checked your divert options? turn them all off mite be diverting calls because it thinks handset is busy?
My qtek 9100 do this thing too.
Hi,
this is the normal behaviour: while packet-switched traffic is received or sent, the mobile does not answer to the paging request (which is normally sent over the circuit switched part of the network) --> so this is no special issue of the Wizard.
There exists the extension of the network to send the paging request via the packet-switched part, but this is up to the network operator...

Hi. I am using the P3600 since February 07 and have noticed that sometimes callers are being forwarded to my voicemail directly without the phone ringing. I checked the service settings (diverts), and what I do have enabled is a divert to voicemail *if the phone is busy, unavailable or out of reach*.
I am using Pushmail / Activesync via UMTS and ask myself if the phone is dropping in a "busy" state while downloading new e-mail. If somebody would call exactly then, this could cause the divert to my voicemail.
Did anybody have a similar experience?
Thank you and best regards
Stefan

Hi
On German Vodafone this happens if
a) HSDPA is enabled
b) you ar online with a data connection
c) you get a phone call then
I disabled HSDPA and the problem is gone.
which network do you use?
do you have HSDPA enabled?
I've had the same issue. I have Cingular/AT&T. They tried troubleshooting the phone, and ended up sending me a new one. Weeks later I find that I'm still having this problem. If you find out an answer let me know...
HSDPA in use
Hi - thank you for your reply. I am in Switzerland, and I use Swisscom as a provider. HSDPA is one of the option the phone goes for if no other is available. Is there a way to disallow the usage of HSDPA? Thanks and best regards, Stefan

Yes, there is. Try SK Tools. There is also a HTC Tool for this and http://www.fit4cat.de/portal.php has another tool. If you have problems finding one of these tools then send me a private message with your email adress.
Thank you - I will check tools out
Thank you very much - I will check those tools out!
Hi, guys!
I'm from Ukraine, and my operator doesn't have 3G yet, only GSM/EGPRS.
And I don't use voicemail but there is lighter service here. If somebody called me when I was unavailable, out of zone I would receive SMS from operator with callee's number and call time.
And after switching to P3600 I began to receive such SMSes 5-7 time per day even if I'm sitting in my office all the time and is available.
I've written e-mail to HTC support but haven't received answer yet
does not happen only with P3600
I switched my SIM-card to a Sony Ericsson P990i - and was stumbling into the same problem. Calls sometimes get forwarded directly to my Voicemail if data connection is active. It seems to me rather a provider than a device problem ... ! I will discuss this with Swisscom. Thanks for the hint.
