Hello,
I just got a used qtek 1010 unlocked from BouyguesTel (a french operator). I'm using SFR, but cannot get a GPRS connection (Wap or Web). I've searched the forum and got a couple of explanations but i having a pb with the dialing number (ex: name: SFR GPRS number: +0 ~GPRS!websfr). I should normaly have *99# as a number. Can someone please help! By the way, the Celular line GPRS is always blocked at 12900. Is there a way to modify it to higher bitrate.
Thanks in advance

I downloaded the T-Mobile (NL) application for PPC2002 ("T-Mobile GPRS Connect") which should take care of the GPRS connections, but it does not work. It keeps complaining about not able to open the modem connection (I'm using the Cellular Line modem): "Can not find the name of the serial port".
Anybody any ideas?
It is a nice utility which displays the speed, send/received bytes and connection time, but useless sofar...

hey marco,
i bought a t-mobile pocket pc in the US and unlocked it. With my vodafone sim i now can do everythinh with the device. So I know how to make a GPRS connection to Vodafone, but don't know the settings for t-mobile.
A few days ago I also tried to install t-mobile app. but it sucks. I suggest you try to find out the correct settings with t-mobile nl to make a descent GPRS setting and not use the t-mobile application

I´m traveling in Spain for the next few weeks, and I bought a Vodaphone pre-paid SIP. The manual (as much as I can understand it, which is not much) insists that GPRS (or at least WAP) is enabled (€0.02 a KB). When I turn the radio stack on, the "G" promptly appears in the status bar as soon as the network connection is acquired. I entered the following parameters (which I obtained from the web):
APN: airtelwap.es
User name: [email protected]
Password: wap125
In the instructions, there was also "Direccion IP" which I assume is a name server. I tried with or without it, but I can´t get to any web pages. The device (XDA II) connects to GPRS, but I can´t even ping what the IP stack says is my router.
Could someone please help me with this? The manual of the SIM says that it is a "self-rechargable" card (whatever that means). Is it possible that they only allow WAP, or I have to go through some sort of proxy?
My Spanish is extremely poor, and I´m sure nothing good will come out of trying to call tech support (after all, it never helps even with English-speaking operators in the States)
Thanks,
Mike.
My brother has recently got a t-mobile uk mda wich was unlocked so he could use his o2 uk sim in it.But when we installed the o2 cab file settings off the clubimate site they don't work for the wap.Has anyone else managed to get theres working?ie getting gprs working on an unlocked device of a different network?

try doing a search for
o2 AND gprs
excluded to this forum [networking]
there are many guides how to manualy setup the gprs
if you want WAP or mms settings just replace gprs in the search string

Go to Settings->Connections.
There's a Network Wizard application. Run it, choose your network, and it will configure everything for you.
