I just tried calling A2000, but they went bust this month!
Contact Pennine Computer Services at www.pcs24.co.uk the Xda II will be on the site tonight with current pricing! :!: We are based in Derbyshire.
Trade or retail?
Do you do trade distribution or just retail?
Looking at your web site it only mentions standard retail stuff, and a normal retail price (£350)
Ship Unlocked to US?
I have a question pcs24, does your company have unlocked XDA II's that you'd be willing to sell / ship to the US? If so, please give me a quote & ordering info. Thanks!
Do a search for XDA on Ebay, lots of deals on O2 for people taking out new contract, saw the XDA 1 on new contract for 99p.
I currently have an XDA I (Siemens SX56 AT&T) and would like to get an XDA II (unlocked) as soon as they're sold by a reliable US source. FYI, I called AT&T Tech support and they said an unlocked phone should work great, just swap the SIM chip over from my XDA I.
It looked like Phone4Devs would be a good source, but they went out of business. The other sources (below) I've found are mostly overseas and pretty expensive.

I'm sure I'm like many of you who would like to pay less than the $850-1,000 + Unknown Custom Charges, that overseas sources are asking.
There are many versions of the HTC Himalaya phone out there (qTek 2020, O2 XDA II, i-mate XDA II). It looks like the i-mate and qTek are the best for the US. Any feedback?
Let's see if we can find a good supplier in the US !!!
Thanks.

Ordered an iMat XDA2
Gave up on Expansys.us. Ordered a iMtae XDA2 unit from PPCW.net (Arne). On route, looking forward to it.
Still trying to sell my existing XDA1 though, pass the word

cshields1,
I understand what you mean because I am currently waiting on Expansys.us too. When you get your phone please let us know of your over all experience with PPCW.net and also how the warranty or technical support is handle for the phone. I understand Expansys.us will play the middle man if you have an issue with phone during your warranty period (which is good considering we are in the US).
hi,
im new here and don't own an xda ii yet. a friend of mine will purchase one for me from O2 UK and have it unlocked so that i can use it at home (philippines). the question is - will there be any problems with this in terms of OS/ROM, software or usage.
what will be the advantages if i'll purchase one which is sim-free - say from singapore.
thanks
No, there will be no problem at all with upgrades.
Just buy the cheapest you can find.
All the other info you need to unlock, do ROM upgrades etc, you can find on this forum.
Grtz,
Jos
thanks jos.
i guess i'll post some more questions once i got the unit.
Thanks
Anybody knows? T-Mobile doesnt carry the XDAII.
www.gsmphonesource.com
That's where I bought my phone, 750 Bones.. Currently cheaper than www.expansys-usa.com Plus it's the T-Mobile MDA II which looks better than the XDA II.. Same hardware though.

NeoCole: MDAII is not listed on the T-Mobile website (under handhelds). I also called T-Mobile and they have no idea what MDAII is. Did you bought it here in US? Thanks
MDA/XDA III
Where can I get info on the up coming XDA/MDA III?
I would like to purchase one but I can't find anything but one picture of it on a Czech website. Its great but where can I get one in the states?
Thanks,
MrBizi
The MDA III/XDA III is pure rumor and speculation at this point. It is NOT a product you can purchase yet, because it is not a product yet.
The XDA II/i-mate can be purchaed at eXpansys.com.
There is speculation that T-Mobile will carry the new iPaq 6300 PDA/Phone sometime later this year, but until I see it on their website, I won't hold my breath on that one either.
HTH!
I got mine at www.gsmphonesource.com, the company is in vegas where I live and was very helpful! Adam (the guy who owns it) even upgraded the firmware in my hbh-65 bluetooth headset to the latest version. (small fee)
I found that if you are looking for the latest GSM phones in the US then adam usually has them or can get them. I check his site regularly to see whats new, as he usually has it first. I have purchased several items from him. p800, p900, mdaII, bluespoon, hbh-60, hbh-65.
Check it out.
Good morning.
I have a good phone now, a Touch Pro2 and always loved smartphones with keyboard, and entering the world of Android, the best choice now for me would be the Desire Z/G2.
I'm searching for a place to buy online, who either ships overseas (as i live in Brasil) or to USA, and is reliable.
Anyone here can give me tips about stores ?

Hi, I'm in Sao Paulo with a G2 on TIM, I'll sell it to you for R$1300. PM me if interested.
Thanks, too costly. I'm searching in US, as i have people to send it to me and a friend who has a Import Business firm. For this price i can get a brand new at a Br auction site.

Why don't you just send one of your "people" to a tmobile store?
My cell service would be here in Brasil, which is GSM and 3G/2100 mhz. For what i've read, both the Z and the G2 operates in 3G at 2100 mhz, so both are ok.
Of course i would need a store who sells unlocked phones. At T-Mo they would not sell unlocked phones. Either i buy online and ships directly to me, or i order to ship to my friend's family in the US and they send me here...

G2
Should just buy a G2 and unlock it byself... i got mine for $340
The stores i though were Plemix, PopularElect, and Gsm Nation, and Ebay.
Any thoughts on them ?
Go for the DZ, the G2 needs 1700 and 2100 for 3G, not just 2100

Well I'm curious which site you're looking at since on Mercado Livre the cheapest I seen were R$1590.
If you already have people to send it to you just buy from ebay or craigslist, good luck with the shipping to here + taxes. You can buy one unlocked off Amazon for $500. My phone's already perm-rooted, S-OFF, sim unlocked, running gingerbread. Offer stands.
i saw last week for R$1349, and today for R$1319 too.
well, now i'm just trying to see which store is the best and reliable...
hey guys, i really wanna know whether desire z is available in US or not ?
It seems that only T-G2 is on sell..

So basically, still higher than my offer, and not guaranteed to work on TIM.
Thats cool though, I love my Vision.
I know that Telus (a Canadian carrier) might sell a Desire Z unlocked and it has the same bands as AT&T (might work on 2100Mhz but I'm not sure)
well, popularelect has the G2 for 479.99 usd, and for what i've seen, their reputation is good !
i thought the vision was able to be sim unlocked with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855764
So if that's the case, why not have someone pick up the T-Mobile G2 and unlock it? That way you can use the G2 on whatever network you have there without issue
the g2 at popularelect is unlocked !
I just recd mine from OnTheGoSolutions in the U.S.
Desire Z is rooted and shipped same day form these guys.
Second phone I have bought from them, very reliable.
I bought a Desire and now the Desire Z (not a G2)
Check out there Web Site, same as there name above.

You can unlock it, yes, but you can't change the radio bands (they are set in hardware). So an unlocked G2 can't use 3G on AT&T, for example. That's why people want to get hold of the NAM model Desire Z from Bell.

Good luck getting something by customs, taxes in Brazil will cost more than the phone itself.
