What is latest T-Mobile/USA RSU stack? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hello, I read somewhere that there is a new TMobile radio Stack. Can anyone confirm this and point me towards it? Thx,
Donovan.

Donovan:
The latest, unless I missed something, is 6.24.00, and is available as part of the TMo 4.00.10 ROM update at
http://www.romanweb.com/yorch/official-tmo2003.rar which includes the 6.24 radio and 4.00.10. To install, REMOVE YOUR XDA FROM THE CRADLE. Unzip the file, and then cancel out. It creates a directory called RUU under Program Files. Place your xda back on the cradle and copy the two files entitled monitor_ul_bs and the two files entitled RSUpgrade from the RUU\English directory to the Windows directory on your xda. Then execute the RSUpgrade executable file on the xda. This will install the 6.24 radio. Once complete, a hard reset might be required, but normally that is not necessary.
David

Has anybody tried this RSU in New Zealand, If so was it sucessfull?

Thanks David. Much appreciated.
Donovan.
P.S. I'll PM you regarding that latte.

problem with xda-developer-ser-v12.exe

hi ppl,
i m from indonesia, i have locked xda with :
rom ver : 3.14.13 eng
rom date : 10/09/2002
radio ver : 4.14
protocol ver : 32s54
offcourse i can not use xdaunlock.exe (to unlocked the xda), and i dont have serial cable.
so... i tried to install xda-developer-ser-v12.exe (i hope i can use xdaunlock.exe to unlocked my xda, and got cooler xda with more application ), but after i run the file, the problem is
"cannot find the rom image to upgrade your pocket pc. please download again".
anyone any idea with it???
and i plan to download :
-Radio Stack Upgrade v4.21 (1.54MB)
-Radio Unit Upgrade v3.17.03 (14.9MB)
at http://www.o2.co.uk/business/productsservices/xda/romupgradedownload/0,,113,00.html
can i unlocked my xda with xdaunlock.exe if i upgrade the RSU and RUU with those?
please advice!!!
thanks everyone
regards

i wake up in the morning, and turn off my laptop, with activesync connected to my xda.
i unzip the xda-developer-ser-v12.exe to directory, and running start.bat
and.....
wooow. it is work.
i can update my rom with xda-developer-ser-v12.exe
my xda finally unlocked, and can use my own simcard.
thanks xda-developers.
I had the same problem but I fixed it by unzipping the file to a folder on my desktop with the original folder names in the zipped file. It worked fin from there!
Hi Jim,
Maybe I did not get the message right- I thot one should always have used Jeff's exe file from the pc; ie clicking on the exe on the pc with the xda in connection with activesync?
It seemed to me that you guys have uploaded the file into the xda and tried to execute the file within the xda. I believe this is wrong right?
Can someone please confirm that to run any of the self installer exe file (even those now in the famous rom kitchen), one has to run the exe from the pc with the xda connected and not within the xda.
Cheers
Vic
Hey Vic, you're right - The exe from Jeff's site needs to be run from the pc. When I did it the first time just opening the exe I got the error listed above. When I unzipped the .exe file (I just opened it from Winzip) and extracted the contents to a dir on my pc using it's folder names then double clicked the start.bat file it found everything it needed and ran just fine. I think before I did this it couldn't find the files in the \English folder. - Jim
Hi Jim,
Thanks for reply and sharing with us your experience.
Have you had similar problems with one of those exe installer files in the rom kitchen at Jeff's webpage? I like the SER ver 1.2 but do not want certain programmes and it seemed logical to make my old rom. Have you used Jeff's rom kitchen yet?
Cheers
Vic
I did cook a rom in Jeff's kitchen and it works great!! I can't remember if I had to unzip and run the .bat file on that one or not. Either way it's very easy and a great service these guys are providing us - Thanks! - Jim

Installing ROM files?

I'm new to this ROM kitchen upgrading and have a few questions.
1) Jeff's Kitchen (http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/ROMkitchen/) creates an .exe to load ROM update to PPCPE, the latest ROM being 4.00.16. At yorch.net, the rom update is 4.00.21 and comes as a .rar file. It took awhile to find a utility to uncompress the .rar into it's .nbf file. Now, how do you install a .nbf file to one's PPCPE? Does a utility exist to install this .nbf to PPCPE?
2) Three ROM files seem to exist, 4.00.10, 4.00.16 & 4.00.21. Is there documentation to state the difference between each? Which is preferred for T-Mo in USA?
3) My understanding is that if you upgrade to, say, 4.00.16 and want to upgrade again, you cannot due to some programme A??? I don't understand. I'd like to be able to return to 3.14 if 4.00.xx doesn't work OR upgrade further when 4.00.55 comes around. Can someone explain this one.
4) Along with #2, which Radio Stack version is most recommended to go with which PDA ROM version? i.e. yorch.net site is a ROM update but not a radio stack update. Can you update ROM without updating RSU?
Raed throught the forum before post! you will get all answers when you go through the forum
Quick answers but u shud reali search the forum!!
1) look for XDArit and XDAtools on this site and follow instructions, u will need a SD/MMC card and reader/writer. As for the .rar extension, if u dont have winzip or winrar you reali shudnt b fooling around with the XDA ROM images!!
2) Marginal stability issues and Service Provider (T-Mobile) Updates.
3) again look for xdatools etc blah blah...
4)ur service providers website will tell give u the most up to date RSU. RSU is mainly considered as a separate issue.

Converting RS-x-xx.bin to RSUpgrade.cp64

OK. I have extracted the the RSU from a t-mobile xda using the xda manipulator expert mode.
Now if only we could figure out how to convert it to an RSUpgrade.cp64 format, then we should be able to use the RSUpgrade.exe utility to flash the GSM rom with the converted file.
Does anyone know how to do this??? :?
Wade
Hmm.. I have no idea but I am in need of GSM ROM. I tried the usual flash method of RSUpgrade utility without any luck and left my xda useless...
can you share your GSM ROM file?
PLease share your GSM ROM file was readed from yout XDA.
I will tell you if there is any conversion to be made and how to.
thaks,

new ROM upgrade with radio_.nbf file
codectelecom: have you cheked this file: http://xda-developers.com/incoming/rom160wwe/RUU16006WWE_T-mobile_NL.exe
I tried to run the program but as usual got the POWER NOT PLUGGED IN error message due to our devices problems, but was wondering if you could study more as the programs consisted of 3 nbf files: ms.nbf, NK.nbf and radio_.nbf.
I extracted the files but was not able to write any of them to the SD card :? neither xda rit nor OSImage tools would accept the files. Is it because they are meant only for xda2?
HAPPY NEW YEAR, BTW

Where to get a radio unit file in SD format ??

Hello
I have a serious problem with my XDA Qtek 1010 on the radio part.
In the bootloader i got " GSM ERROR" due to an error in flashing procedure.
I can back-up my ROM and bootloader and GSM part as well.
The problem is that I have found a lot of files to flash my ROM part bu nothing for the RADIO part.
Is there anyone so kind to help me and send a file ( or a link to download from ) from the radio part ( in SD format ) ?
Thanks,
Silviu C.
It would help if we knew what Radio stack you were running before the upgrade?

Upgrading T-mobile to 2003

Since I am still waiting for T-mobile's release of 2003, and not really jazzed about inhereting all of their bloatware, is it safe to upgrade my US Tmobile phone to this new SX56 Upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003 from Siemens? Is there any particular way it should be installed? Can I just use the executable? How do I backup my address book? Or will all of my personal info be preserved?
Can someone inlighten me?
Thanks
Raymond
Need to upgrade both ROM and RS
Pardon the novice question, but if I unzip the exe file, is there a way to upgrade both the ROM and the RS using xdatools? I know about the method to load the SD card with the .nbf file if you just need the ROM, but I need both.
Any tips?

For the Radio upgrade copy the below files in your devices windows root folder and run RSUpgrade.exe from File Explorer:
monitor_ul_bs.m0
monitor_ul_bs.map
RSUpgrade.cp64
RSUpgrade.exe
Note: this is to be done after you complete the ROM upgrade.
