helo gus, this is my 1st topic over this forum for that I wanna update me ppc qtek2020 to wm5.
- Can I do that or not? if I can do that plz give me setup for wm5 for qtek2020.
note\ I have:
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 3/15/04
Radio version: 1.14.00
Protocol version: 1337.24
ExtROM version: 1.72.810

Well this server was off for a short time. Now is it working again.
But in WM5.0 is the memory organisation different than 2003(SE).
Therefore you need to answer the question 'how many MB's of my RAM will I use as a storage space and how many MB's will I need to run my apps'(RAMdisk).
The other thing is the DOC(Disk-on-chip).

You'll also need to upgrade to Activesync 4.1 as earlier versions won't handle WM5. AS is tempramental so be prepared for a bit of trial and error to get your As link working again. some users have zero probs. Others major headaches so chose some spare time that includes a good slice of troubleshooting time and back up your data esp if it is critical to your work/ business.

and when i soft reset it , hang in main screen (same page that write IPL , SPL , GSM , OS Ver) . and not BOOT !

I think it was clearly mentioned that this rom was meant for CID unlocked devices,you could try flashing it back to a stock rom,(orignal shipped rom) all the best.

i had the same error. In most of cases is because You didnt switch off firewall. Try to flash t-mobile official shipping rom (i done this on my orbit o2 fm uk) by boot loader - keep record button when You do soft reset. For me was helpfull.

How can I take backup of my ROM ?
I think I made backup of my ROM
I installed the Cert_SPCS.cabhttp://rapidshare.com/files/168320205/Cert_SPCS.cab and the EnableRapi.cabhttp://rapidshare.com/files/168320271/EnableRapi.cab.
Using dump_gene_os_extrom.ziphttp://rapidshare.com/files/168318701/dump_gene_os_extrom.zip, and I had two files:
extrom.nb 10.0 MB (10,485,760 bytes) http://rapidshare.com/files/168324058/extrom.nb
os.nb 57.8 MB (60,641,280 bytes)http://rapidshare.com/files/168331185/os.nb

you're right. you did the backup. You need only these 2 files.

How do I put them in my unit?

you need a program called htcrt to join these 2 files in a NBH file
then just put the generated file in the romupdateutility folder and run the romupdateutility.exe

Restore older firmware
OK, I made the backup as told on the topic, and I have the same 2 files. I used the HTCRT utility, joined the 2 files. But when I try to restore them on the phone via RomUpdateUtility it flashes until 2% and it says my file is corrupt. Any suggestions?
SOLVED - NEEDED TO UNLOCK THE SPL - THEN FLASH COMPLETED! SORRY FOR THE IMPATIENCE!

Hi... I don't understand the topic.. Is for flash the P3401 or for only re-flash with the same OS ? - I want to flash this with WM6 but I scared for the possible damage to my mobile.. Locking for a ROM I find the file RUU_Gene_HTC_RUS_1.7.411.0_1.7.411.101_4.1.13.31_02.71.90_Ship from Russia and for the P3400... This works with my P3401??

None of these work except for Card Export that isnt freeware...

I have a Neon, and strangely nueStorage works but my registered copy of Card Export does not.

well, thats a different model, it could have different hardware too. :/

Twolf, I installed Card Export 3.15 (b. 444) on my GF's Nike and it works OK.

I have tried to extract USB2PC from this chinese rom, but have no luck - it requires DOPOD ASIA "Digital Certificate". WWE roms dont have it
Also there is one program for Storage_Card in this chinese rom, may be it needed for usb2pc
So, we need a person who can change USBtoPC's Certificate to another one, or extract this certificate from this chinese rom
P.S. I think Sun_dreams gave us a wrong version of it, so it doesnt work... may be deliberately...

Extraction seems to be the best solution, since there are already chinese users here, they would only need to extract that file or regkey...

Here is, extracted USBtoPC from chinese rom. It wouldnt work on WWE rom.

The problem is digital certificate. To be honest, this app can't be runned on wwe rom (You can try ), because it doesnt have digital certificate, so OS wouldnt allow to run this app

Hello have a Rogers Magic 32 A and not much success at all with an ROM update (actually have a 1.6)
Rooted it, got a while a go some Updates on it as you can see SPL, RADIO
In SDK it looks fine, its in the device manager w/o an error , Mounting the SD card is fine too
But as soon i want do anything like Fastboot, adb or run a RUU Rom file "no conection via USB, or waiting on device" Even i still can see the SD card in the explorer.
What is there wrong or what did I wrong Thanks a lot

Well... one problem that you're having is that you failed to post in the right section. I'll move it for you but next time I'll trash it instead. Fair warning.
Second thing is that those images aren't showing up. When I tried to click a link it says that I have to be signed in. Sorry... but I'm not planning on working that hard to help you out at this point. Too busy.
