little suggestion to XDA-Developers - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hi,
First of all thx for the wonderful ROM-Kitchen and the XDAtools, It is extremely useful ...thx ...U GUYS COOOOL !!!
But as a Windows User, I am lack of experience in Linux, But I really hope to modify the Boot Screen, I really hope U can make a GUI Tools to modify the Boot screen easily ....
Thx a lot
a small MDA user ...

What a good idea !! I would love it too !!! , Please ...

easy boot screen change!?
that would be awsome!!!
the ability to change boot screens. but why stop there?
i'd like to patch some drivers, such as my targus keyboard, and
SiPix printer in rom! they'are small enough.. maybe you can make xda tools read the .CAB files and manage moving them into rom .
keep up the good work, i love this site.
thanx

HELP I need help converting back to Windows CE

HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!!
I downloaded the XDA special edition ROM but I want to convert back to Windows CE or Windows 2002.
I am new with one of these and have absolutly no idea what I am doing.
Can anyone help me.
I made a huge mistake and hopefully someone out there can help me fix it.
Thank you!!
XDA Developers ROM is a PPC2002 OS ... what's wrong with it ?
or you mean you want your old original ROM ?
I would like my old original ROM...
O, man!
How could you! SER v1.2 is the best 2002 ROM ever produced! You just ignore or erase things you don't need!
What exactly you do not like about it?
Colors? There are tons of software to change it, most of it have very useful functions (WisBar)!
Programs running on StartUp? \Windows\Startup and erase the link!
Equipement? Lots of freeware included in the very ROM - the best way to save memory - my system now takes 3.8Mb, the rest is FREE!
+ Tweakers
+ No SIM lock
+ Useful stuff I had to pay for is now included for free (freeware alternatives of progs I used - Calculator, Browsers...)
+ SIM Toolkit, Players, Messagers, Launchers, Stopwatch, Personal Ringtones...
Conclusion: the only way to make me leave this ROM is to produce WM2003-based one!
Think twice before you do so!
ok, but we wait for one for XDAII too!!

RAMDisk for 2005
Bravo! Buzzzzzzz!!!!
Victor
Buzz, thank you. This validates my theorys on memory usage in wm2005.
Id love to hear some details of how you acheived this!
Just the ramdisk alone will make wm2005 much more usefull but here are some suggestions too... although im sure you are already working on them...
in the memory settings the slider for adjusting storage/program memory is gone, can this be re-instated? or even registry hack adjusted? You could then install everything to ramdisk and just give almost all the flash to the running program memory.
Maybe there is a way to make wm2005 use the ram for running program memory and all flash for storage, this is the best option in my opinion as you wouldnt lose installed files when you reset, but would have heaps of memory for running programs. You may be even able to partition the ram to 64meg ramdisk and 64meg running program memory.
Im sure if you can do this then M$ will be offering you a job
Thanks for the great work, its nice to see you are working hard on the stuff that counts. Sin's merged rom brought 2003se to us all, and now you are on the verge of making 2005 totally useable. Thanks!
OKIH Guys dont thank me .. ive been ask to create a cab..
ALL the CREDIT GOES TO OUR GREAT BUZZ_LIGHTYEAR ..
what needs to be done, is:
1. mount it as root FS
2. keep the content of RAMdisk to survive reboots. <== DONE
3. still 1mb but it will be fix<== DONE
tnx buzz .. you are the greatest ..
For the STORAGE (Formerly Known as the Extended ROM)

Milion thanks to Buzz,
but i am getting only 1MB, it is the same for everybody?
That is what it is for now. Please be patient.
Buzz's pictures attached speak for themselves. Don't empty the tea cup before the toast is ready!

not sure what happened, after installing cab it crashed and burned, on reset 2005 wouldnt get past the screen telling you the version info and what not.
hard reset made no difference
reinstall of 2005 made to difference....that sinking feeling is starting to grow in my stomach.....about to down grade to 2.20.....
it worked! now attempting to update back to 2005
woohoo, worked thank you! forgot about that device auth fail problem but thats easy to fix.....**sighs in relief
and i can conferm that ur program did work on its second attempt this time it was a fresh install, and bar the ext rom patch nothing was installed neither was a full active sync carried out...not sure why it didnt on the first place but perhaps it might of something to do with having other prgrams running in back ground?...GPRS monitor?... MS voice command...?
who knows, but good job anyway!
in my case it worked just fine. It's just that it's so far only 1MB. Domt really know what to do with so little space, but it works, and i am already 1MB happier than yesterday
thanks again to BUZZZZ looking forward to hear about an extension soon.
"IN BUZZZZ WE TRUST"
buzzyy buzzzz...
;o)))))
thanx everybody here...
i'm sure, there's more memory to come soon. I just hardcoded 1meg size for testing purposes... to prove that it will work - at least somehow...
please stay tuned and be patient...
thanx to toenailed for creating the cab for me. I really had no more time for it yesterday...
@verna
hey cool, I just hope, you are girl... ;o)))))
buzz
Yay!! tnx man.. hoping that soon someone here can produce a stable one. TNX BRO!

Download now...
Image viewer has been around for quite a wile now, you guys should check the hacking and developing section of the forum more often.
thank u
thank u, but i tried and search about this file, not found, it is built inside the kitchen roms, and i didnot how to open the components of the roms,so i installed sun_dreams rom and copy the files, try in it on the xplode rom, it works , but really i didnot see separated file of this image viewer, any way thnx.
Look in www.pocketcm.com
This was one of tene's projects... he hasn't done anything with it in a while, but it's a good viewer nevertheless. I still prefer A_C's S2V, but Image Viewer is not without its charm. Good post homam!!
BTW, loving the Grendizer avatar....

hi i have a xda orbit with WM 6 pro,
my question is i would like to install touch flow, is it a add on for my wm, can i uninstall it if i dont like it and can someone give me a link to download it.
i have been searching the forum for 30mins and i cant find what im looking for.
and do i need to cid to install it.
also is there cube add on for the windows im running and how do i install and find it.
i dont want to flash a whole new rom.
many thanks
mike
Hi,
in my experience I've only seen ROMs with or without Touchflo but never Touchflo nor cubes in standalone packs..but I might be wrong (happens often ). A very personal opinion: those gadgets may look cool in a screenshot but make Artemis quite unusable because our device is not powerful enough. I encourage you to try a Tflo ROM anyway,it doesnt take so much time...obviously be sure to have your original ROM and make a backup of your phone to be able to restore if you're not happy.
Hey sulac how r u doin...good to c u...
anywayz here is the touchflo ROM download the cube version...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364883)

i am trying to cook my own personal ROM with what i need on board and customize it exactly how i need.i am not new to this.i have cooked ROMs for my Touch PRO and Touch PRO 2 and i always done it with no problem.but whenever i try to do it for HD2 after flash when the device customization is over device hangs up.never get after that.i have even tried disassemble 1.61(that's what i want to use as base) ROM and without any changes assembled it back together and flashed it to my HD2.the same thing happened.device hangs up when customization bar reaches end.
maybe i am missing some important setting in kitchen or...
